The early morning was calmer then Dark had ever known. It was almost as though all but the dew had decided to sleep in. The trees were still, no birds sang, the insects had already parted and Dark was utterly alone in the silence. It shouldn't have bothered him this much after all he was alone frequently on one job or another but there was something about the still that kept him on edge.

He shook himself from head to tail in attempt to silence the feeling but it was ineffective. This was plain insanity. There was absolutely nothing for him to worry over. He could easily out fly any dangers he encountered and it wasn't even as though there were many dangers in these parts. Sure kalona and skinwalkers were pretty bad but they were easily avoided. He muttered to himself how foolish he was being before continuing on his way up to the lake to see if any more of his treasures had washed up on the shore after being dumped to the depths with no way of fishing them out.

Calm was something Krad rarely encountered. If it wasn't the enviroment itself, noisy and full of chaos, it was the ones around him, bickering and laughing amongst themselves, so it seemed to be rarely calm. But away from the stifling confines of that structure, and the even more stiflying attitudes of the ones he shared the space with, Krad was able to feel just a bit more grounded and incontrol of his usually unpredictable moods. It was one of the few times of the day he had all to himself. He was peaceful, the madness soothed and locked away for the moment, having seemingly no interest in rearing its ugly head right then.

Pacing smoothly through the silent trees with no intended destination, Krad let himself relax even as he kept a wary eye on his surroundings. After all, looks could be decieving. Reaching the edge of the trees, he froze at a sudden movement near the shoreline of the lake, blinking. He knew that form. Muscles tensing slightly, he stood there and just watched his other half trod over the sand, muttering to himself and looking rather serious. Krad couldn't help the slight smirk to curve his lips at that, since Dark was anything but serious, most of the time at least. The tranquil enviroment had mellowed the blond's mood out and he had no intention of rushing headlong after the other. Not at the moment. Krad was content to just stand and watch the other for the time being, unmoving except for the wind toying lightly with his hair and clothes.

Dark patrolled the shoreline hoping for some large pile of shine but so far there was nothing. He couldn't even see anything glinting under the surface. Scarlet's harm had been done and the few scarce pieces he had collected over time seemed to be all that was left. He kicked a stone at the surface feeling an angry boiling in him that he had never felt before. This wasn't the first time he had lost something he had taken but this was the first time he'd lost so much all at once.

He turned away from the lake to face the silence once again though it's presence felt stranger yet. He could feel someones eyes on him. He ruffled his wings allowing them to open a little bit in case this silence held the danger he thought it did. He kept his eyes peeled for whatever lurked around wondering if her was simply being paranoid and it was just a squirrel. A particularly violent squirrel that didn't want him around. Shaking the feeling he picked up his pace trying to appear casual like he hadn't noticed.

Ears flicking, he continued to watch Dark pace, back and forth, seemingly looking for something. Krad had to stifle the curiousity he felt at the unusual behavior. It wasn't like Dark to only pace when he wanted something, instead of going for it. But if it was something in the lake, it would be no wonder Dark was frustrated, since he didn't seem much like the swimming type.

He backed up slightly as the other turned and looked to the forest, not quite wanting to be seen just yet. Smirking slightly as Dark turned away, looking uneasy. Krad couldn't help but be amused by the other's unease. Anything but that infuratingly arrogant cockiness that Dark always had. It drove him up the wall.

Once he was a safe distance from the clear waters he cast a glance over his shoulder. If someone had been watching him they'd be at least partially visible even in the scarce light. His crimson eyes narrowed as he combed over every inch of the lakes terrain looking for something out of place. Then he saw it. Something distinctly white looming around the edges of the forest. Something white and feathered. He scoffed at himself for getting so on edge about another horse from the sky. They weren't exactly harmful creatures.

He chuckled as he made a beeline back to the lake area making straight for the white wind. As he got closer the thief began to notice things like the blonde hair, the structure of a males body, and robes. He slowed as his eyes widened. He knew this horse.

Waiting was something he did well, and something that Dark couldn't seem to handle. Which would explain why Dark kept glancing about, searching so intently for who or whatever was keeping an eye on him. It was amusing because had Dark known who was standing in the shadows, he might have not been so eager to come meet it. Krad couldn't keep the grin off his face as the kaitou came closer.

Tail swishing softly, he gave a snort of barely contained amusement as the other got a clearer look of his watcher, making him slow, then stop. "Hello Dark." Krad said simply when the other was within earshot, husky voice laden with amusement, eyes slitting slightly.

Dark's blood ran cold as the oh so familiar voice pierced the silence. He took a few steps backward his body going rigid. The calmness in his opposite's voice was sending chills down his spine. Speaking without war breaking out was something that had never happened before. "Krad..." He began eyes narrowing angrily. "How did you find me here?"

He was torn between running for his life or standing here hoping that white wings wasn't in a blood-thirsty mood. He studied the other's golden eyes for traces of violence but there didn't seem to be any today. Fleeing, he decided, might only provoke the creature into on of his crazed moods. He'd take his chances with staying but by no means would he loosen his guard.

Krad gave a snort of laughter as Dark froze up and watched him suspiciously. Not that he really blamed him. "Not that you'll believe me, but I wasn't actually looking for you for once." He pointed out, ears perking forwards as he stepped out from beneath the trees, keeping his distance from the other, but continuing to watch him. "And I live nearby, to answer your question." He said simply, looking amused at the entire encounter.

Tail flicking, he paced foward, moving around Dark and glancing towards the lake. "And might I inquire as to what you were doing here? Lost something?" He asked, head swiveling back around to look at the dark thief. "That is unlike you Kaitou." He said, voice almost mocking the other male, but not quite, lips quirked in a half smirk of amusement. It was more of an...amused observation.

He lived near here? Was that even possible? Every time the two had met had been somewhere else, some other fight, some other day he had never once considered that Krad actually belonged anywhere. In fact he didn't think that anyone would even want him around for more then a minute. He knew he didn't even want Krad in sight for a second. It was just surprising, incredibly surprising.

His wonderment ceased the second Krad decided to open his mouth a second time. He always managed to say exactly what Dark didn't want to here. "That is none of your business Krad..." He said he wings ruffling. So what if he had lost something it wasn't his fault it was the mare that had done him in not his own mistakes. His eyes narrowed further, one day he'd wipe that look off his counterparts face, permanently. "It's not unlike you though is it, how many times have you lost me now?" He knew it wasn't smart to test Krad like this but there was no way that smirk was staying.

Was it really such a startling thought, that Krad was a living being, needing shelter and food? A place to call home, so to speak. It might have dismayed some part of him if he realized just how much of a monster Dark thought him to be. Not that he'd done anything to prove other wise.

Ears tilting back, he grinned at the other, eyes narrowing slightly. "I have never lost you Kaitou. I've just let you get away." He corrected the other cooly, before turning and stalking a few paces closer. "It is that, you've not just lost something, but had it stolen away from you?" He questioned, continuing to smirk at the other, different than how he usually was. With his madness soothed for the time being, he was grounded and very much incontrol. Dark just didn't seem to realize that.

Dark laughed like a madman. "Whatever helps you sleep at night." He said as his laughter died down. His white counterpart was lying to himself and that amused Dark more then anything. No one ever 'let him get away', there wasn't a creature on Earth that could out fly him. "And 'stolen', Krad?" He asked his eyebrows raised more openly mocking him now. "No one can steal from me you should know that better then anyone."

He flared his wings trying to make things worse for the blonde. For some reason he would rather be chased around all day then have to deal with Krad's strangely accurate accusations. While she hadn't quite stolen the bag from him it was close enough.

"Indeed." He grinned back at the other, more baring his teeth at Dark than showing amusement. It wasn't the matter of flying faster, it was more about the obstruction of escape. Dark may have been the faster of them, but Krad was the stronger and could keep Dark more than occupied to keep an escape from being at all easy. "It is obvious that you are missing something, besides brains, that keeps you searching so intently in the water." Krad replied, amusement flickering across his face once more.

Ears flattening a moment later, he tensed up, his own wings flicking slightly as Dark threatened him. It would seem that his counterpart was more interested in being killed than talking. The blond would be more than happy to oblige him, feeling the madness once more start to stir within at Dark's hostility.

Dark let out a few short barks of laughter doing what he felt was an efficient job at hiding what he was really thinking. "My brain's not the one that's missing." He said with no thought at all. His mind was still focused on the situation at hand. Dark had lost a good portion of his treasure and no matter what he said to him his counterpart seemed to have caught on. This was not good, in fact it was horrible.

While the thief couldn't see anything in the dim light the sun was climbing higher in the sky. If the blond were to look in the lake when the bottom could be seen it would be game over. Good bye to his dignity and any pride he had left would surely fade with Krad's jeers that would follow.

He gave his wings a few powerful flaps sending blasts of dust and dried leaves swirling around the pair. This served two purposes; one, it made him seem more in charge then he felt and secondly it might serve as a distraction. That, or it was a death wish, he hadn't missed that flash in the back of those golden eyes. Dark was getting on the other's nerves which had proven a costly mistake more then once.

Krad didn't comment, giving the other an amused, doubtful look. As if saying without words that Dark was stupider than he realized. He had always been rather good at sensing what was amiss with his darker half. All the better to get under his skin, something to use against him. But it wasn't as if Dark ever did a good job of hiding his upsets and irritations. It was all too easy to find out what bothered the dark winged male so much. This time was no exception. And now that Krad knew the source of Dark's unease was centered around the lake, he wouldn't stop until he found out just what was in the lake Dark wanted so much. Perhaps his lost treasures?

Snorting, the blond flattened his ears and squinted his eyes as Dark kicked up dust and leaves around the two, pawing the ground in annoyance. If the kaitou wanted to play that way, he wouldn't argue. Giving another snort, he twisted on his hauches and came at Dark sideways, ducking under the moving wings to shoulder the other male hard, irritated with the other's childishness. Then again, Dark was hardly anything but childish, so Krad should have expected nothing less, even when he himself was trying to be somewhat civil. Dark never seemed to change. "Someone's gotten under your skin Dark, and it isn't me. The thief who stole from you perhaps?" He told the other, close enough to whisper the words into Dark's ear with a hint of his old malicious taunting. He couldn't help himself.
