Alright, so it hadn't been exactly the morning after, but it may have well been.

Pakpao kicked a conch shell lying in her pathway and glared as she watched it float back to the ocean bottom. It had taken a few days, a couple weeks at most, before she had figured out what was going on. The constant urge to eat any plant-life that she crossed paths with, her random mood swings, everything. Especially the stomach. How obvious could it be?

She was going to find that damn stallion and when she did, there was going to be hell to pay!

Kuval was feeling great! It was ironic that he was feeling pretty much the opposite of Pakpao, and his overly chipper expression was held in its usual matter. His body felt relaxed and comfortable, and his feelings were high in positivity!

It didn't even weird him out that he and Pakpao had established a new type of relationship, and to him he was thrilled if anything. He found her overly attractive, even if she denied his flirting constantly. And, whether she would believe him or not, he cared about her so much. For awhile he thought he could never find a relationship like Pakpao, but it seemed life was just too good at the moment!

So, thinking about finding his gal, he decided to trot along the bottom of the ocean, and he made his way to where his dearest rested. Hopefully she would be nice... well, they ended their last meeting on wonderful terms, so there was no way she could be angry at him this time.

Right?!

Magenta eyes scowled across the distance, looking for any sign of bobbing white and orange. As if on cue, a very familiar looking stallion with a very familiar grin spread wide across his face was making his way towards the sulking kelpi mare. What in the world did he have to grin about?! Didn't he see her... see how fat and out of shape she had grown?

Her hard glare softened for a brief moment, recollecting the affection and, dare she say it, perhaps love that had brought the two of them together in the first place. Granted, their personalities were as opposite as wet and dry, but together, they seemed to mesh well enough. And although she could find herself frustrated on occasion with his carefree attitude, he still remained optimistic, even in the gloomiest of atmospheres. She still wasn't exactly sure where or how deep her feelings were for him... but they were there, and she knew he meant a great deal to her, especially after having exposed such a intimate side of herself to him. No one had ever cared or expressed so much adoration over her... not even her own family.

But that still didn't get him off the proverbial hook on this one! They had both gotten themselves into quite a mess, and she was going to make sure he take full responsibilities for his actions. Full responsibilities.

"Kuval!" She called out, her voice once again in it's usual snapping tone. "We need to talk."

Kuval finally stopped himself, and he raised a brow at the current situation. Pakpao looked.. different. For a moment there, he couldn't really tell how. All he knew was, that she looked DIFFERENT.

She did look wider, but he couldn't possibly consider it fat! She still had her normal glow, so he just smiled suavely as he approached. Maybe she had put on a few pounds? No matter, he could honestly ignore such a thing.

"Talk about what my dear? You know I am happy to talk for hours." And after a quick walk around her, he chuckled and lowered his head, as if pretending to be a gentleman. He still was oblivious to..basically everything Pakpao was thinking, and he continued to smile at her as if everything was dandy!

Her frown wavered... she would not let his cheery attitude get the best of this situation. They had a serious issue on hand, and they needed to figure out what to do about it. Lips remained still, though tempted to rise into a smile as he walked around her. Was he really that oblivious to what was going on?

Clearing her throat, she shook her head. "I'm being serious, Kuval. This is no time for joking..."

She hesitated, then glanced at him. Could he really not tell what had 'happened' to her?

Her head tilted, and she stared at him curiously. He really did seem to fail to realize what exactly was going on! "Kuval... do you... do you notice something different about me?"

Serious? Kuval wasn't one who enjoyed being serious, but by Pakpao's expression, he realized that she wasn't playing a game. Stiffening himself up, he stood directly in front of her and lowered his smile. "Alright so, what's going on?"

At her other question, he tilted his head slightly and shook his head. "Well, I did notice that you seemed to have gained a few pounds, but why would I call you out on that? I didn't want to humiliate you, and that sort of thing doesn't bother me." It was a bit uncomfortable to even bring something so obvious up, and he wondered if that's what she meant as 'serious.'

"Honestly dear, I don't see where the problem lies. If you are upset about something, I'd appreciate if you let me know. I don't like seeing you upset."

How could she stay mad at that?!

Salty tears began to swell up as another bout of wild hormones took over. He seemed so unaffected by her weight gain... perhaps in truth he did really like her for the way she looked, but more so for the kelpi she was underneath the rainbow colors? And that face of concern... he got so serious so quickly!

She let out a little sniffle, tiny bubbles fleeing from her nostrils as she did so. How was he going to take the news? How would he react? Would he still be as concerned and lovable as he was now, or would he panic and bolt at the first signs that he'll be forced to show some responsibilities? She hated herself for crying... she was so strong and usually so stern. So why get upset? Was it because she was scared of the future to come... of the responsibilities she herself would have to take on? She had never expected this to happen, and this was no doubt the last thing on Kuval's mind to happen as well. One exciting, memorable night... leading to something that would affect them for the rest of their lives.

She was scared and nervous, but she knew he needed to know. He had to know.. it would be unfair for him not to know.

"Kuval...I'm.. I'm..."

The small tears began growing larger, and she broke out into a large sob. "Kuval, I'm pregnant!"
PostPosted: Fri Aug 31, 2007 9:15 pm

Her words left him speechless, and even in her crying state, he could say nothing for many seconds. His mind was racing, and he was beyond shocked. How was that possible? Well.. of course it was a possibility from the other night, but that had never crossed his mind at all! He felt a rush of emotions hit his mind, and he stood lifeless for a moment, before shaking it off.

Wow.. he was going to be a father? He never thought he could ever have that chance in life, and he was overjoyed beyond belief. But.. why was Pakpao crying about it then? Did she not want to be a mother? Was she.. pregnant with someone else's? It was doubtful, but it still left him nervous because of her crying. Rather then thinking too much, he decided to get to the bottom of it all.

"That is.. unbelievable." taking a deep breath, he decided to follow his emotions and just, remain calm. "How exciting! Congratulations my dear. Ah children, such a wonderful thing." It was weird, and he didn't want to say too much. He was so confused by her actions, that he decided to wait until she would say more.

He really hoped the children were his... being a father, it already felt amazing!

She held her breath, waiting for his response. Pakpao truly didn't want to be crying... she was just so confused! Should she be happy that they had little ones on the way, or should she be worried that perhaps they weren't going to be the best of parents? How did one raise a kelpi foal, after all? She certainly didn't know, did Kuval?

He hesitated, then told her how he felt. He seemed very cautious about the words he chose, no doubt due to her... uncollected self that was seemingly going to bits before his very eyes. She didn't blame him, poor stallion. Taking a big breath, she collected her thoughts and willed herself to calm down. Yes, her hormones had seemed to grow quite out of whack with this whole pregnancy thing, but she was determined to attempt to keep her emotions under control. Poor Kuval already seemed shook up enough, she didn't need to worry him further.

Unbelievable. He hit the nail on the head with his comment.. this little miracle was indeed unbelievable, but now, truer than ever. She was going to be a mother, and Kuval was going to be the father of her children. Her eyes met with his, and she stared into those eyes, those caring orange eyes of the scoundrel who'd now forever be tied to her, through the foals she now carried within her womb.

"Kuval..." she started, speaking slowly in hopes of leaving no trace of a sob, "I... I am happy too. But I'm worried; what if we aren't good parents?"

There, she said it. Her eyes, though they begged to glance away from him, ashamed for thinking so negatively already, remained steady, staring at him. If this was really going to happen, she was going to need all the support she could get from him.

Bringing a calm smile to his face, the stallion walked up next to Pakpao, and put his fin on her back. "Of course we are going to be good parents. There is nothing to worry about, especially when it comes to you. You are like, the most protective person I know." With a confident nod he snugged next to her, and the moved a few paces away.

Ah, so they were going to be his children? He felt warm at the thought, it was strangely nice.

"I am sure your worry is coming mostly towards me, no?" Turning back at her, he watched her with a stern expression. "Why else would you be worried, I can be sort of.. crazy at times." He certainly didn't want to worry her at all, so it seemed he needed to mature up so she would get less concerned.

"If anything, I think you should just be excited, and await whatever wonder happens. I can't wait to see how many we have.." the idea of a family was something he had always wanted, so he kept a giddy smile while thinking.

She felt guilty as he suggested she had been referring to him and his personality. Yes, she had been in a sense, but they had been directed towards the both of them, not just solely on him. She had never been around foals before, and had no earthly idea how to raise them.

A small smile broke out across her face as the comforting fin found its way on top of her. She knew she was a worrywart, and was honestly glad to have someone so optimistic by her side, to help her through this.

"No, Kuval... I think you'll make a wonderful father," she said honestly, her cheeks flushing once again at realizing they were both going to soon be parents, "You'll be the fun one that he or she'll always have to turn to. I'll be the grumpy one they'll always complain about."

A small laugh escaped from her lips at the thought of a young colt or filly glaring at her, and then moving to side with their father.

Her head rose again to look at him, at the mention of numbers. "I don't know... but there's quite a rumble already in there." Her head motioned towards her stomach and its width. "Already I can feel movement, Kuval! There has to be at least two, maybe even three!"

It was surprising to hear her say that, and her impression on how it was going to be sounded all too true. Would he really be the goofy father for his children? And she the worrywart? Well, he was sure the roles would shift at times, but just thinking about it in that way made him chuckle.

"Goodness, they really want to come out then!" he stuck his nose near her belly, and wondered how many offspring they would release into the world. "Its weird.. its not that I am nervous, but I feel sort of ready, you know? The anticipation is nice."

In his head that made sense, so he chuckled again and looked at her happily.

"Do you need anything? You should probably be resting or relaxing.." he really had no idea what she should be doing, and he blinked for a moment while pondering.

"Anticipation?" One eyebrow quirked up as she gave him a look. "I suppose you should be excited... after all, you wont be the one birthing them!"

She laughed, attempting to relieve her nervousness. That was a whole different topic entirely, the birthing of the little ones. She had never met a pregnant mare before... would she know when the time was right? Would her instincts tell her what to do?

Shaking her head, she refused to give in to her worries any longer. It was a time to celebrate the happy, though unexpected, occasion.

"I think I'm fine, though I suppose we should start looking for a place for us to stay? I don't think my little cave is big enough to hold yourself, myself, and a couple of little Kuvals and Pakpaos!"
PostPosted: Sat Sep 01, 2007 9:44 pm

Ugh, Pakpao was damn right about that! Just thinking about that seemed.. awful! He almost felt bad for her that she had to go through with the physical pain. But, he decided to keep his mouth shut about that one, since well, it was the intelligent thing to do.

"Where to stay? Man, I didn't even think about that.." with a slight cackle, he turned to the vast area around them, and thought long and hard. "I'm off to a good start with this parenting thing, aren't I?"

He needed to use the humor to hide his horrible instincts. How could he not think of their safety and lifestyle? He had totally forgotten that where they both lived was clearly not good enough for their family.

"Is there somewhere you had in mind?" It should be her choice, afterall. All he wanted was for her to be comfortable, and he knew that territory was important to Pakpao.

Another brief laugh erupted from inside of her.

"Kuval, I only told you moments ago that you're going to be a Father. It's not like I've really given you any time to mull over the whole situation, now is it?"

Hoping to comfort him, she snuggled up against the larger kelpi, resting her head on his back for a moment before pulling away.

"I think I know of a place, actually," she mused out loud. "We can talk more about this... little situation of ours on the way, hm?"

She tossed him a grin and motioned for him to follow her, her rainbow body waddling the entire way there.
