Safi had gone off to do something so he'd promised to wait around where he'd been left. Going off and exploring hadn't even crossed his mind since it was a mostly unfamiliar area and he had no idea what could end up trying to eat him if he did.
Waiting around wasn't that fun either but at least he had food. The apples were still fresh and crisp and they were a good enough distraction while the other stallion was off doing whatever.
Hopefully Safi would be back before something scared him too bad. He'd already jumped at a few rabbits and one bird.

Much as Safi enjoyed being with Wadi, occassionally a stallion needed a little time to himself. Haven woken up before Wadi, Safi had simply laid there quietly, enjoying the warmth of Wadi's body snuggled against his. But as the other stallion woke up, Safi had realized he was getting stiff, and knew he'd have to rectify that a bit. Consequently, as soon as Wadi was coherant enough know what Safi was saying, the older stallion had taken off for a quick dash, the exercise bringing blood back into his limbs.
However, it didn't take him long to feel proper again, so he was making his way back to the apple trees where he'd left Wadi. He could do with an apple.

He was happily crunching on apples when he heard something coming though the trees. Inching closer to the tree he watched the direction of the sound warily until he realized that it was Safi.
"Safi! Did you have fun?" He managed to swallow the apple he'd bit into before he started speaking. It'd be bad manners to try to talk around it.

Safi wasn't expecting that; he'd tried to be as quiet and non-threatening sounding as possible as he'd approached the trees, but he'd still thought that Wadi would be a bit more jumpy. This was a positive thing.
Grinning, he gave Wadi a nod to the affirmative, trotting over to the tree and scooping up an apple with a wing. "Well, the blood is moving in my limbs again and I had a good tear through the trees, so yes, I'd say I had fun. How was your wait? Not too bothersome, I hope?"

He nodded as the other stallion came over and leaned down to get another apple. Crunching it in half he swallowed it before answering "Only jumped at four things."
Though he had almost gone running off for one of them. Rabbit had been really loud and he'd sworn it had to be something much bigger coming to get him.
"Maybe ya shouldn't sleep curled up like that if it's bad for yer legs? I mean ya can sleep standing up right?" That's how he did it most of the time. Easier to wake up and run if something made a noise.

"Sounds eventful, at any rate. Lucky for me you managed to resist the temptation to take off, otherwise I'd have come back to be all alone, which would have been sad." And it would have, too.
Crunching down the apple as it rested on his wingtips, Safi shrugged his shoulders in response to the idea of sleeping standing up. "I'm too heavy a sleeper; I'd fall over in my sleep, hit my head, and generally feel unpleasant."
To put it mildly. He'd done that once or twice before, and it HURT. "Trust me, it's safer this way." Finishing his apple, Safi eyed his wingtip thoughtfully, eyeing the juice that clung there before licking at the feathers. "Lying down ish shafer."

"I'd have come back .... once i was sure that nothin was gonna eat me." He pouted slightly that Safi would think he'd just fun off and not come back. That would be mean.
"It's safer to stand up. You can run from danger that way." Mama said that usually everyone slept standing up unless they felt really safe. "It'd be bad if you hurt yourself though..."

"Yes, but maybe I'd have come back in the interim. It would have been terrifying, I tell you." Well, not really, but close enough. Lonely. Perplexing. Leaving him to wonder where Wadi had left, why, and how long it would take him to shake off his pursuer. Or perceived pursuers.
"I think I'd rather risk the danger at the benefit of not killing myself. I'm a pretty brave guy, anyway, or at least I like to think so." Finishing with the wing, Safi licked his lips, then eyed the remaining apples on the ground thoughtfully. They looked tasty, but he wasn't sure he was up to eating another whole one. After staring thoughtfully for a moment, Safi looked up and gave Wadi a curious look. "You up for splitting an apple?"

"You're braver than i am..." Then again so was everyone else. Even foals were probably braver than he was. He went running off at the sound of anything and Safi could just stand there. It was slightly amazing in a way to him even if he knew almost everyone else he met would be the same way.
"you don't want a whole one?" He looked down at the apples quizzically. Though, now that he though about it, he'd eaten enough of them that he didn't think he could eat a whole one either.

At Wadi's self-depreciative comment, Safi merely shook his head and smiled. When Wadi was in one of those states, there was no talking him out of them. Though he had confidence in his own abilities to overcome that...eventually.
Instead, he focused on the apple. "Yeah. I'd kinda like a little more, but I don't really feel up to eating another whole one; the last thing that I'd want to do is burst, you know?" That didn't sound very pleasant.

"That would ... be bad." And very unpleasant looking. He shook his head at the thought before looking back up at Safi. "I wouldn't mind sharing. That way i get more but i don't have to eat too much."
He'd get father otherwise or something and then he'd be an easier target for something big to come eat him.

"Great, then!" Grinning, Safi eyed the surrounding apples for a minute, finally selecting a rosy red apple of a pleasant size and carefully biting into it "Thish one looksh ok, don't you think?"
Hopefully yes, because it was the one he'd picked. But it would be nice to know for sure that Wadi agreed.

"Ya know.... shouldn't talk with you're mouth full." He grinned at his friend and laughed slightly. It was kinda funny to see him talking with his mouth full since if they did that at home they got yelled at.

Safi would hav replied to that, but THAT would have meant talking with his mouth full again. However, his eyes twinkled dangerously at the other stallion, a clear indication of his amusement.
"'Ere." Stepping forward, Safi offered the apple to Wadi. "Bite and twist your head, and it ought to break in half." That's the way he'd always split apples, after all; the old bite and twist.

He eyed the apple for a moment before he took the other stallions advice. Taking a bite he turned his head and crunched the apple in half.
It was good but he couldn't say that until after he'd finished eating it. Swallowing the apple as fast as he could he smiled. "Thanks"
