Here's the deal; I think it might be a good idea to start a study guild. I haven't seen any such thing around, and I think it would be dreadfully useful for the students here (which, I believe, is the vast majority of us).
Basically, it would be a place where people would proofread your papers for you, help you with subjects you're struggling in, stuff like that. Cheating would not be tolerated and would result in an immediate ban.
Would it be useful? If I were to start such a guild, would you join?
(I'm thinking of turning my Speak like a Freak guild into this; that guild is thoroughly dead).

I'd join, fo' sho'.
So, would you like have different subforums for each basic subject type, i.e. Science, Math, History, Government/Economy, English/Literature, Foreign Language/ESL, etc.? Maybe a computer/programming one, too?

Okay, which four subforums should I put up first? English, Math and Science for sure, but maybe History? I don't know.
Also, what should I call the guild?
I'm considering The Students' Guild, but that seems boring. Another option would be The Students' Haven, or many other things.

How about the Scholars' Secret Society?... Nah, sounds too Marvel.
How about.... Can't Learn s**t, Captain? Hmm. Too 4chan.
Gaia Scholars' Guild ? That sounds a little better than "the Students' Guild."
I'd suggest The Open Book but that sounds more like a bar or pub name.

Maybe The Scholars' Haven? <=probably a bad idea

Yeah, the word "scholar" implies more than just "students" and "studying." It's more like a lifelong journey to attain knowledge. The word "student" sounds like it focuses more on High School students and Associates/Bachelors degree seeking college students. Yeah, that might be mostly who will be in the guild, but it doesn't mean we can't be Scholars, too.
Oh, and for the subforums, I'd recommend "English Grammar and Literature," "Mathematics," "General Science," and "History," so basically what you said. I like having English include grammar and literature, unless you'd rather English be just about English grammar OR just English literature... I figure we can eventually have separate Foreign Literature and Foreign Language subforums.
A lot of people on Gaia are still in Junior High and early High School classes, and from my own experience, I recall that "English" in public schools often is a mix of literature and grammar. Note that I would also include "Writing" or "English Composition" in this category.
Are you in need of money for the guild? I can maybe donate 1 or 2k if you need it.

I consider myself a scholar; I know I'll never be able to give up the pursuit of knowledge. Money would help me to acquire more subforums, yes. sweatdrop
