Why do people insist on Mello and Near being a couple?
Doesn't it seem more rational when there little... maybe?
And I personaly, do believe that they where friends when they where little. I mean, they would make good friends, and it would be cute. But not them being...
together or anything....
And not when there older
Because we all know Mello despises Near, envies, and loathes him. I think Near doesn't like Mello either. So how can they be together? gonk
I do have a point, no?

I know! It just doesn't work. I mean, Near doesn't make the pairing attractive to the eyes in my opinion. It's just not hot, so that fails. And it just barely passes the cuteness factor, and it's not even that cute. Also, Mello hates him in a way but they're also barely friends. It just doesn't work out in a logical and fangirl sense.
But I guess people just like pairing up enemies because they think it's cute or something.

Well, I'm not a fan of it, but I DO see how Mello/Near would work.
As much as Mello hates him, I don't think Near hates Mello. If you recall, Near was fine with them being partners in catching Kira and even gave him credit in the end for being the deciding factor on the fact that Light was Kira.
Still, I like Mello/Matt more, because I see them as opposites as well, only in a different way (Matt being more laid back, while Mello's an aggression machine) which is cute to me =]

Yeah...I don't even understand why people would pair them up like that...
What would Matt say?
Though, even though I HATE that couple, I think it's interesting that some people would write fanfictions of Near and Mello once being together, but since Near is a completely unemotional person, their relationship satrts to crumble.
And then Matt comes XD
see, THAT'S ok with me! I'm cool with that, as long as Matt gets Mello at the end, hahah...
But really, people...Near and Mello? Honestly. Let's try to have a life here.....

I like MelloxNear. To me, it has the same kind of charm as LxLight. i like the whole love/hate thing. i guess it's just me, then. o-o;
But MxM is still the best!! (please don't kick me out!!)

They HATE each other, or they're rivals(depending on the situation) Why would they ever hold those sort of emotions anyway?
Sorry, but Light is a heartless b*****d who could never truely love anyone even if he tried.
And Mello's pride would never allow him to have feelings(Lustfull or romantic) for Near. =/ It just ain't happenin' people.
I don't mind crack pairings...but let's not be SMOKING crack when making the pairings either!
Matt and Mello forever!!
(There's actual reasoning about this pairing!)

Personally, I'm a HUGE fan of Mello/Near, not because the pairing makes sense but because it has so much tension and drama to it. I fully believe that no matter how much a writer tries to twist their story line they could never make Mello actually like Near and still keep him in character but I believe it just makes everything better when Mello hates Near. And I love it when everything is a struggle and when Mello stays in character and continues to hate Near and yet out of all of that you get some violent, dramatic smut (haha... I'll admit, I like smut). If you read some really well fanfictions of that pairing and only if the writer does it well you can easily say, "Oh wow! That was stunning! It makes sense!" That's at least how I got into the pairing. Of course, I would NEVER touch a "fluff" fic with Mello/Near. That's just WAY to OOC for me.
I adore love/hate relationships and anything that has to do with sexual tension (I'm not saying the two of them have sexual tension or anything going on but I can see it being a tiny bit understandable). So I suppose it's understandable why that's my second favorite pairing in DN (Matt/Mello is, of course, my favorite). whee
That concludes my rant.

I agree with you because even though I support other pairing I'll always believe that Mello/Matt is the best pairing ever because you can do anything with it! If you make it fluffy, it's all good, if you make it angsty and dramatic, it's still good. You can't go wrong with Mello/Matt! whee

Hmmm...Yeah, I dunno...the only way I would accept ANY kind of mello/near pairing is when Mello and Near's relationship crashes and burns, then Matt comes to Mello's rescue and makes it all better <3
Like, for instance, I read this one 'fic where Near and Mello were in a relationship before Mello got all "ARRGH!" and left the Wammy house. Well, Matt was still his bff forever, but Matt had a wittle cwush on Mewwo! XD
And it was so cute but angsty and BOY did Matt EVER hate Near...
*ahem* but anyway...
Mello could not STAND how Near was always so unemotional and blunt about the things that Mello didnt want out in the open (like when his period started and...no, I'm JUST kidding!!!). But Mello just grew to utterly dislike Near, and Matt was all like "Then WHY do you DATE the kid??" and Mello was all like "LeGASSP! Youre right, Matt!"
And they broke up.
Mello left the next day, giving Matt NO TIME to confess...
SO, a few tears pass and Matt and Mello see each other again, all this angst happenes, and Matt finally tells Mello how he feels and such...
And, I dunno....it was beautiful...
So yeah, as long as the two end up together when it's all said and done, I dont care who you decide to pair Matt and Mello up with..cuz i know that TRUE LOVE prevails, always <3
