He checked his watch, frowning a little as he looked at the only entrance to the first Ouran Garden Party for students hosted by his family. The cooks and waiters were late... Hopefully, their flight had not been delayed. Sure, it was his wacky parent's idea, but he was the organizer. Maybe he should have used his family's jet plane to fly them over instead of allowing them to use the 'public planes'.
"I'm so sorry, Master Yamada," A deep voice came from in front of him, "Our flight was delayed due to bad weather."
"I expected it," The male sighed, gesturing towards an empty buffet laid out in the middle of the garden. "Make haste... We don't have much time left before the first guests arrive. Also, call me Mr Kiyoshi... Master Yamada is how people address my father."
"Yes, of course, sir."
Within minutes, the buffet was packed full of food. It looked like an international buffet had moved into the garden. There were also 'commoner' food items, as requested by a portion of the student body. All sorts of food, from western to chinese, was present. Desserts, main courses, drinks, and even ice-creams from all over the world... The dining tables laid out in the garden were also ready, together with soft classical music being played on a small stage at the back of the garden.
Now, all remains is the arrival of the guests.

"M-miss Mitsuko, are you sure that's a good idea?!"
A Takara family guard stood at Mitsuko's side, a grimace on his face as he held out a hand, ready to grab at the girl's arm and haul her back up if needed. Yes, indeed, Mitsuko -was- wearing heels once again. Upon hearing about the party, and seeing the chance to strengthen business relationships, Mitsuko's mother and father had, for once, taken some of their time to lecture her on proper manners, and remind her that she was going to represent the Takara family, and not to make a fool of herself.
Bah. This was Mitsuko they were talking about, though. Even if she were to try, she'd always be far too carefree. She enjoyed going to parties and like not because of business partners, and taking advantage of others, but because she genuinely wanted to make new friends. Besides, from what she could see thus far, everyone she's met has already been incredibly kind to her. Thus, she didn't care what her parents said. She'd be herself during this party - afterall, since she was sure her friends would be around as well, she had a feeling they'd be more confused if she started acting quiet and polite, instead of her usual, happy self.
Stepping towards the entrance of the garden, Mitsuko wobbled a little in her heels. Along with teaching her proper manners, her mother had also picked out clothes for her. A rather long, but still rather casual pink summer dress, and pink heels. The dress, Mitsuko didn't mind. It was the cursed shoes, that made her uncomfortable.
Stopping by the entrance, and holding onto her guard's offered arm as support, she peered about, finally noticing Kiyoshi. Ah, he was the one who organized this, yes? She didn't know him -too- well. They had talked on the first day, and all that, but she didn't know much about him aside from what he said in the class introduction. Ah well, might as well make herself known.
"Hello, Kiyoshi-kun." She chirped, raising her free arm to wave. She didn't dare move, as something told her that the next step she took, would make her fall.

And of course, Minori had been hauled into this.
It was all about family relations, and her mother insisted that even though they were business rivals, they had to remain cordial towards each other. What better way to show this than to force her daughter to go to the party that was hosted by a Yamada?
Although the girl knew her friends would be there, she had still sulked all the way to the party. Firstly, she had planned to stay at home and have some time to herself. Secondly, she had been forced into an outfit. Again. The girl had been bothered by the length of the hair, and she had it cut, so that it cascaded down to her shoulders.
The outfit her mother had chosen wasn't that bad, she had resented it only because she wanted to make her own decision. The girl folded her arms across the white lace top. A light pink skirt gracefully swept down, demurely covering her knees.
Minori stepped out of the limo in her heels(without any difficulty that Mitsuko was facing) and walked towards the entrance, preferring to ignore the guards that flanked at her side. Her father had really taken the threat of giving her security guards seriously.
"'Tsuko-chan!" The girl was glad to see her classmate here and she stepped beside the bubbly girl. "And Kiyoshi-san." She gave a slight bow. "How are you today?"

Satu sat nervously in the back of his fathers limo. At the moment the boy was not a happy camper. He hated going to most parties but going to one where he had only met the person once before made him feel slightly sick. His parents insisted that he go because he was invited. He had begged for one of his sisters to accopany him but once again it was his own fight and he had to go on his own.
He tugged absentmindedly on the skinny jeans his sisters had once again gotten him to wear. According to them they flattered his thin figure and made him look slightly rockstarish. Satu just found them too tight and rather annoying. He got out of the limo, his red converse softly hitting the ground. He turned around and closed the limo door. He waved it off and as soon as it left he promptly loosened the red tie around his neck and undid the tip button of his shirt. If his parents saw him doing this now he would be in so much trouble. It gave him an untidy look which didn't suit the image of his family business.
He sighed and pulled his black blazer down to straighten it and took a deep breath, running a hand through his blond hair and walked into the party, feeling as though he was going to throw up.
He nodded to the other guests, afraid first of all of calling them by the wrong honourific and second of all because he felt that if he opened his mouth he was going to throw up. He waved to Mitsuko, relieved to find someone he knew. He then turned to see Minori there too. He sighed happily. People he actually knew.

"Welcome, everybody," Kiyoshi smiled, ushering the guests in. If this was a more 'serious' party, nobody would have any fun. He should know; his parents had brought him along to many balls held by their business partners. An ordinary person will think that the atmosphere is light, but Kiyoshi knew that these parties were held for one sole purpose: To build good relations.
It made him sick. Parties are not supposed to be like that...
"I'm glad everyone came," He nodded, sweeping his bangs as they fell over his dark eyes. He was wearing black pants, coupled with a simple sleeveless white shirt with a dark blue vest over it. He wore a silver pendent in the shape of a teardrop on a black necklace which matched his sandals. It was a casual look, and he felt that it suited a casual party.
"Please, help yourselves to the food," He nodded, before turning to Mitsuko. Pausing, the male continued, his words directed at the female with a tone lined with slight concern, "Miss Mitsuko, if you feel uncomfortable in those shoes, feel free to take them off... The grass feels wonderful beneath bare feet. To say the truth, I did that when I first arrived ths morning to make preparations. It had been proven that by wearing shoes that feel uncomfortable, one's feet will develop complications in the future."

"We're almost there, Young Mistress," said the chauffeur with a voice that was one-hundred-percent formal. Chihaya's face contorted with disgust. She hated him because, well, he was way too uptight. She chose to ignore him. After all, not all servants were as interesting and fun-loving as Sai and Sei, her maids. Regretfully.
She dug through her sling bag to find the invitation, studying it once more. It was hosted by Kiyoshi Yamada, that boy whom she had laughed at, but still gave her a very nice clip, which she had worn today to keep her straight brown hair from falling onto her face. She had wanted to go to this party out of her own will. She had heard of children whose parents forced them to go for the sake business relationships, but hers was not the case. Her parents were pretty liberal and carefree, and sometimes Chihaya wondered how a person with a personality like her father could manage such a huge business so well.
Her thoughts were interrupted as the limousine came to a halt in front of a rather large garden.
"We've arrived, Young Mistress. Please take care of yourself."
Chihaya nodded, and stepped out of the car. As the Limo disappeared into the distance, Chihaya couldn't help but stick out her tongue at it. More specifically, the driver. Formal old fogey.
She walked into the party, peering around. People... Decorations...My! What a spread there was!

"Miss Chihaya, welcome." Kiyoshi greeted, briefly remembering her from the first day of school. They did talk, but she was more of an acquaintance as they were from different classes. However, as this was more of a school based Garden Party, she must had received an invitation.
He walked towards the new arrival, the edges of his mouth twitched a little upwards when he noticed the hair clip in her hair, feeling rather happy that she had worn it. It was hand made by him, and he had always been pround of his own little creations.

The moment Mitsyko heard her friend's voice, she almost flung herself at Minori in a tackle. "Minori-chaaan!" She squealed, almost tripping in the process. Hurriedly, the guard ran forward to pull Mitsuko away as she gave the other student a hug. "Miss Mitsuko," He said, nervously, lowering his voice, "Remember what your parents said? On how you should act? They wanted you to come to strengthen business relations, not for fu -"
While he had been talking, Mitsuko has stuck out her lower lip in a pout, before finally, she cut him off. "That's what they -wanted- me to do, but I refuse to do it." She said, stubbornly, "A normal party is held for fun, or to celebrate something, and my friends are here so I plan on acting like myself." Then, after a moment, she grinned, "Besides, Mother and Father aren't here right now."
Grimacing, the guard watched as Mitsuko turned away to grin at Satu. Mitsuko waved back to Satu, before to beckoning him to come over. "Satu-kun! Hello!"
Looking down at her shoes while Kiyoshi spoke, the girl frowned at them. "I've had...rather bad luck with heels in the past." She commented, knowing that Minori would know her experiences best. "I suppose I'll take them off though. It won't do if I can't walk around without falling, can it?" Reaching down, she removed the heels before standing back up in the grass, barefoot. Her guard looked on in horror, snapping out of it long enough to bend to pick up her shoes. The carefree girl on the other hand, just grinned at her friends. "Much better."
Finally, she turned to see yet another arrival. Eyes lighting up, she rose a hand to wave eagerly. "Chiya-chan!" They had become friends on the first day, but Mitsuko hadn't seen much of the other girl as of late, it seemed.

Minori laughed as Mitsuko practically barreled into her. "It's great to see you too." The security guards eyed the girl warily, and would've yanked her away if it wasn't for Mitsuko's guard. Minori stared for a moment as she watched Mitsuko talk to her guard.
"Hi Satu!" The girl waved to the other male with a grin.
Minori shook her head in amusement as she watched Mitsuko complain about her heels and take them off. "Why did you even wear them again? You should have worn sandals." The girl mock-scolded her friend.
Chiya? She turned over to see the girl and frowned momentarily. Where had she seen her before...? Oh yes, on the first day of school! She had seen Rose, and squealed. And helped find Miiya's plushie.

Satu smiled and walked over to the girls. Atleast there were a few people he knew! "Hello Minori! Hello Mitsuko-chan!" he said brightly, waving as he walked over to them. He then spotted Kiyoshi. He must have been the organiser for the even or so he guessed anyway. He descided that he had better go and introduce himself, no matter how awkward it made him feel. Luckily Mitsuko was talking to him so he wouldn't be alone.
"By the way you both look lovely today!" he added remembering his manner. He looked at Kiyoshi and smiled awkwardly. "Hello I'm not sure we've met before. I'm Satu, Satu Kimura. Its a pleasure to meet you. Thank you for inviting me." he said, his voice trailing off slightly. "You've done wonders with the garden." he added.
Satu was glad it had turned out to be such a nice day. he was afraid it might rain and the whole thing would have to be called off. He was very nervous and aprehensive about coming but now that he was here he was feeling much calmer.

"The pleasure is all mine, Satu," Kiyoshi nodded, extending out a hand as a friendly gesture. "I'm Kiyoshi Yamada. You're welcome, and I hope you enjoy yourself today. I hope to make this an informal event, rather than a serious one... And thank you for your compliment. I did receive help though, so the credit goes to my staff as well."
As Mitsuko took off her shoes, the dark haired male found himself hiding a smile. It was so like her to be 'cursed' when it comes to high heels, and the way she told her guard off... Like many of the students in Ouran, her parents must had thought of using the party to gain new partners and relations. Kiyoshi paused, before musing out loud, "Perhaps it would be fun to engage in some commoner games later on, when more guests arrive. It should be enjoyable..."
"As for concerns on safety, I have posted several guards around, just in case. As long as the games we choose are not too... Rowdy or violent, I'm sure that our parents will not mind." He took a quick glance at the guards who were with his friends, and added, "It helps to strengthen our ties as well, since playing games do help people bond together."
Now, that last sentence should give the guards something to report about.

Having seen the wary look that had come from Minori's security guards, she peered up at them blankly for a moment, before sticking out her tounge. Her own guard flinched. "Wha - Miss Mitsuko!" He protested, but the girl had already turned her attention back to Minori, grinning brightly at her friend.
"I don't know -why- I wore them," Mitsuko sighed, "But Aya - one of my maids - insisted on it, even though she knew I...wasn't...very good in heels." She grumbled, as Satu approached them, then, turning to face the other student, a grin promptly spread itself over her face again. "Hiya, Satu-kun! And thank you! You look very cool yourself." Reaching out, she tugged lightly at his loosened tie, giggling. "I'm not the only one who was uncomfortable with something I was wearing, hm?"
Like a puppy, Mitsuko blinked and turned as she heard Kiyoshi speak, before she nodded eagerly. If she had a tail, it'd be wagging furiously right now. "That sounds like fun! Even as a young child, I didn't get a chance to play many games with others, so..." She trailed off, but the excitement was still visible.
Her guard glanced at Kiyoshi, before giving him a wry smile, and shake of his head. It -would- technically strengthen the bonds, and if Miss Mitsuko got a little fun out of it, what was the harm?

Almost everyone here she had not seen since the first day of school-nealy none of them were in 1-B, after all. She racked her brains for a short moment, connecting faces with names.
Flashing her trademark(or so she thought) grin, she replied, "Pleased to meet you again, Kiyoshi-san. Thank you so much for the invitation!" She spied the tiny hint of a smile on his face, and immediately guessed the cause of it. "Thank you for this, too," She smiled, tapping the accessory lightly. "Though I think I've already done that."
Ah. She saw one more person out of the corner of her eye. This person she did not need to think to remember. "Tsuko-chan!" She returned the wave with great gusto. She'd not seen her since the first day of school, save the glimpses she got at the party and at school. She hoped they would be able to hold a proper conversation like when they first met.
To the yet another person she simply pointed and said, "Ah! The girl with the kitty!" with a look of surprise on her face. Right after that she forced her hand down, blushing slightly. "Sorry, that was rude, wasn't it?" Cue nervous laughter. "You would be..." she paused, embarrassed. "Sorry." She couldn't remember.
"And you are... Kimura-san, right? This must be the first time I've exchanged words with you, though we're in the same class." Sad, but true. She hadn't interacted with her class much.

"Yes, as an only child, I had the same experience since young," Kiyoshi nodded at Mitsuko's statement, rubbing his chin thoughtfully before he continued. "Thus, I can relate to that. Anybody have a game that we can play? Something harmless to do to pass the time? Feel free to suggest it."
He turned to Chihaya next, listening as she talked. When she had finished, Kiyoshi gave a bow of his head, "You're welcome on both issues, Miss Chihaya. I'm glad that you could make it to the party on this lovely day. Please, help yourself to the food."
He feels so happy today. Maybe the party will turn out to be a success after all.

Satu laughed. "You can say that at Mitsuko-chan! My sisters insisted on dressing me once again. The jeans are seriously not comfortable and the shirt was trying to strangle me...or so believe!" he said laughed. "We're you shoes hurting your feet?" he added smiling.
Satu smiled. a commeners came sounded fun. After all Satu only joined in with them very rarely. His father did not approve of him playng with commoners or playing commoners games." he said "What game should we play?" he asked smiling.
Satu smiled. "Thats me but please call me Satu. I don't thin I've talked to you before either. Its rather unfortinate since we're in the same class and such. Chihaya-chan is it?" he asked smiling again. He felt bad that he hadn't talked to her before but now he could right?
