So yesterday was my last day at work, and I'm off now for the schoolyear. Best last day job ever? - Picking baby bones out of incinerator ashes! Go me! Anyway, I got some cool gifts from the guys on my last night, $40 in Tim Hortons gift certificates and a swiss army knife. Also... I looted sooo much on my way out 0___o Seriously, I looked at everything afterward and I'm guessing that I took probably at minimum $300 worth of stuff. XD All my boss said was "Wow, for someone who came in with just one suitcase, you sure have a lot of luggage coming out... maybe you should grab a wheelbarrow when we get to the dock, eh?" I was also bringing out all of my fish, mushrooms, work clothes and gear, fishing gear, and everything I'd brought in and didn't take back out over the summer ...and frozen fish need to be packed in a big box with lots of insulation when being transported >=]

Sounds like a lot to carry. Picking baby bones out of an incinerator? Once this school semester is over are you going back to that job or do you have something else in mind?

@Naito: You're welcome 3nodding ...I love when I get praised for returning things and face no consequences for having stolen it in the first place! xd
@Skittle: Yeah, I'm hoping to go back for 3 more summers, since it's a maximum four year thing and I want to milk it for all it's worth. I'll have to see if I can though, 'cause I submitted a term paper late last year and my teacher hadn't marked it or put a final grade in for the class by the time Alcan recieved my final transcript. Because of that incomplete grade, I didn't meet their eligibility criteria for rehiring, but I'm going to see if I can get it sorted out.
@Karma: Actually it was baby blackbear bones. Raymond clipped the poor little guy with his flatbed truck and broke it's leg so they had to put it down. I'd seen them before, tiny little kitten sized fluffballs, really small for the season, and really stupid about vehicles on the road. They've skitted across the road in front of me and a number of other people in the past, and it really wasn't surprising that one eventually got hit. cry

That sucks. Hopefully it all works out in your favor and you can go back. From the sounds of it it seems like you liked it just fine. It's rare to find a job you like...or is it just that way around here?
Totally sucks about the bear too.

Actually, there were a lot of bad things about my job, and I ended up having to put up with a lot of crap because of some certain people that I had to deal with. But there was a lot of great things about it too, most notably that I got to go home, and I'm just the sort that tries to focus on the positive. I can't really say that I liked my job that much, but there were some awesome perks to it and overall I can't figure to complain about it. ...But then again, you have to keep in mind that it really doesn't take much to make me happy. If I'm eating regularly and have adequate shelter, I'm doing good! 3nodding
