i liked necros post about sublimes rivers of babylon being good for beginners, so i thought a thread for easy-to-learn songs for beginners would be good, being lame at guitar myself. so if anyone knows any good songs for beginners to learn, on any instrument, please post here... i at least would appreciate it since im looking for easy ones to learn right now.
i posted something on Kreator's "Black Sunrise" being a good one for this earlier, but afterwards realized it might be a little bit tougher than beginners might be able to handle, as well as not being able to find accurate tabs available for it, which also means i didnt learn it correctly >< - however - i learned Disturbed's "Down with the Sickness" to teach a friend today, and it really is pretty simple for those who at least have their movement somewhat down.
also, im workin on Ensiferum's "Lost in Despair" now, and so far its pretty simple, and ive only been playin guitar for probably a total of 3 months all spread out.

a good beginner's song that helps with strumming technique a little is "worst day since yesterday" by flogging molly... another fun thing to learn that helps beginners get used to easy fingerwork and is really fun to play when you are bored is the 'simpsons' theme song mrgreen

ha ha @ the simpsons song...
on the subject of goofy things we play while were bored, i tend to do final fantasy's battle victory theme quite a bit, which is easier than the simpsons one.

Haggard's "Herr Mannelig" is pretty simple... all one chord arranged in different patterns, on the same 3 strings.

I got Amon Amarth's Cry of the Blackbirds down in about 5 minutes, and lost some respect for that band in only 2.
