Ok, so, what happens with retarded people who die? Do they go to heaven? If so, is their disorder erased? When this happens, do the people become "smart"? Can the suddenly speak clearly in complete sentances? Do they still have their memories? Do they retain the information they had on earth? Is it then altered into a "non retarded" format? What would their morals be if they had no way to think of such things on earth? Would they be a default of good? Who would they be, then, if they were suddenly made smart?
And if this is the case, would God change who WE are? How maleable are souls, then? If we are altered when we enter heaven, are we really still ourselves?

thats an interesting question to ask considering my sister is autistic.
i do believe they who are challenged become healed of their disabilities. such as they're personalities in life style. i think we'd all be changed by God's presence

Ah, but will we even be the same in heaven? Will we notice the others around us? Or will we be so in awe of God that we will do nothing but worship?

All disease will be healed. I believe this also means disabilities and what-not. Yes, we will noticed other people, but we will mostly be worshiping Him. Everything else will become second.

People who are retarded still have hearts like us. They aren't less of human beings than the rest of us. They are judged like the rest of us, by God according to their hearts (which humans often seem too shallow to judge so deeply and accurately. Therefore, only God can truly judge us). Also, disorders and such are purely physical (of the body, brain, genes, etc). Our souls are not physical like that, and our souls are what go to Heaven. Therefore, logically, the disorders no longer exist in Heaven.

I believe that we're all changed. - For the better; in god's presence.

How much goes away? Again, doesn't this, in essence, destroy who we are now?

Well, according to books written by psychics (I own some) and research sites I read about the afterlife, it is only the conscious mind that would be retarded.
The spirit mind is safe, sound and eternally intact, no matter how healthy or unhealthy our conscious (physical) minds might be.
I hope that makes sense.

But the question stands- How much is the spiritual soul? If I die today, what do I have left? Do I still like long hair, incense, heavy metal and sour candy? Do I still oppose the Iraq war and abortion? Am I still for triunification? How much of us is carved away?

I believe if the person has not reached that age of accountability and right and wrong. I believe they will go to heaven. Being retarted is a disease, and when they are in heaven they will no longer be that way. There is no disease in heaven. I believe we will retain a lot of the memories on earth though. Once you understand right and wrong you are held responsible for your actions. But someone who is retarted dosnt understand as much, its like there still in a childhood state. As far as being smarter in heaven, we will all be able to recognise each other and we will automatically know each others names there. So apparently we will be smarter through God.

So, say some guy was a jackhole to us in life. He stole our bike or whatever, but or some reason you're both in heaven. Do you still think he's a d**k? Or is your mind altered to not care? And isn't this a destruction of who you are?

Lol ok... Look brother... Can the suddenly speak clearly in complete sentances? I bet they'd be able to spell to? Sentences*
hahaha sorry... I hadn't ratted on anyone today! Ok..
You know... I bet they would be alot better when they got to heaven. I know my grandfather was a very ill man and he had plenty of things wrong with him. But I know, cause God told me, he feels alot better!

Again, this dodges my most important part of the question- How much of us is in our soul, and how much of us is flesh?

I do believe that they will enter heaven, and that everything will be perfect, therefore there will be no sickness, but as for the rest.... I can only imagine
man, that song gives me goosebumps... must.... play.... again...
