How do you find jobs like that? I'm thinking on my free time to start doing Spanish again.

That's just a personal thing for me, learning Spanish. I've only had 2 jobs, both fast foods. I didn't get any Degrees or AA's in college. When I got pregnant I dropped out. I can't go back until I make enough money to do so. My first job I made so much money with it, working at Mc Donald’s. But the thing was I didn't have my daughter so I only worked. I was "on call" and If I continued to work there I might have made manager if I wanted it bad enough.

I miss work. I don't mind if I don't get dental or any of that, but if I get daycare or able to work solely at home I'd be glad to. I can't think of anything I could do, with dignity, that I could do either of that and make enough to save up for a car.

I considered trying to be one of those phone sex girls, but what would I say to people if I were?

What's your job Melanie?
I'm known for Lanie's Lovin'.....

Or, just say, I’m a telemarketer? I want so badly to be a high school Drama and Art teacher. Teach kids how to express themselves in a positive manner. That’s what happened with me. I took both and well, it worked so well. I was in a horrible place, like most teens. My parents were divorcing, I was the one everyone turned to when they needed someone to talk to. I felt I should do something so wonderful.

I know there's WAH options for moms out there. I had a friend who did Alpine Access, but there was the problem of keeping the children quiet while she worked.

I know a lot of community colleges here (and universities in other areas) have daycares and accredited to boot. I know if you qualify for grants, you get a big break on childcare.

Thank you, worse comes to worse I'll take the job where I only work 15 hours, making above minimum wage. I live with my mother. Might end up finding a job on the weekends somewhere.

Daycare jobs are pretty good. The neat part is that they offer their employees discounted if not free child care.

Some warnings though. It's nothing like being home with your own children. You have around 10 children under you supervision at all times and they don't always want to do the same thing. Also, because of all the kids coming and going you collect a lot of germs, therefore you get sick a lot.

Myself, Aunt and cousin work in child care. They love it and thrive. It's totally for them. I get too stressed out, it's not for me. There are a lot of certifications you will need to get. My day care gives you 6 months to get them and offers a raise at completion. Some states even offer reimbursements for the classes.

Single parents attending community colleges (here at least) receive free child care at the college while in class or working (if you work on campus.) The local Community colleges offer work study. You work in the bookstore, cafeteria, etc. between classes. This is nice when you don't have a car. Take the bus twice a day for child care, work, and classes.

I hope some of that helped.

I don't want a job with daycare... I want a job with daycare benefits.... as a secretary, or clerk, or something like that.

My fault really... just read my title... going to change it. Sorry about that. I don't word things that well. That's part of what is holding me back. Just scared that I will say something and it would be as if Yoda were saying it.

I don't realize it but I'll flip the subject and the predicate.

It helps that you know what you are doing, now to learn when you are doing it. At least you make people think.

I end up writing it all out, then checking it. When I was writing my resume` I think my final draft I rewrote it around 3 times. I prefer working either with my hands, or typing up stuff. I'm praticing my typing skills on a site called
http://www.freetypinggame.net/
.

Did the code thing so that you can see the url rather than see it as a clickable url...

But yea, my typing is getting better except the numbers... need to pratice both top row and the little side numbers.

Ok so there is this program, they help you pay for daycare... or pay for someone compealy to watch your child.

Either way I'm trying to get them to do that with my daughter and I... The job I want is full time, about 4 miles away from the house so I'm hopping I can ride my bike to and from work.

Jobs that offer daycare benefits generally are your larger companies, perhaps even state or local level. I work for the US Govt in their Medicare division locally. The contract is being held by a company called Wellpoint, which is the nation's largest Anthem conglomerate. They offer daycare benefits, but, trying to obtain a position is like bombing down a fortress. Its hard to get into jobs of higher levels unless you have a significant work history that includes education/degrees/training, etc.

I dont miss being a single mom, and I commend you for wanting to continue to move forward as opposed to being stagnant. Today is VERY different than it was about 15-20 years ago.

You may want to consider dropping by your local "Department of Employment Security" office and talking with a representative there who not only can help you finish your education by giving referrals, but they are also there to help test you for what jobs better suit you, and they have a local-state AND Federal job database that is free to the public.

Keep your chin up!
