He started on Tuesday, so I didn't see him the first day. I was at Pro Rev. On Wednesday, I saw him, tall, black guy. 2, maybe 3 times my size. That day, he was scanning for the trailer next to mine. I never worked on that trailer, but I've seen the load chat, it has a lot of codes. My trailer is a million times easier, and has way less traffic.

I knew that he was gonna be taking over my trailer, and I'll be working on just scanning for another trailer, and working more on the floor. My supervisor even wanted me to work on the paperwork with him... He doesn't seem to do that with anyone, I think he just thinks I'm smart enough to understand how to do that stuff. He had even told me that many people there couldn't enter in the tracking codes themselves, so yea... It's ******** easy, takes a lil time since the codes are sorta long, and there are some letters. The letters are on some numbers, like a cell phone. It doesn't take me too long, texting taught me well. rofl

So yea, enter Thurdsay. My supervisor asked me to teach the new guy the codes for my trailer. I taught him, showed him the load chart so that he could check them out for himself. I even pointed out the codes that he should take extra care with, because they have some exceptions. More than what I was told, that's for sure. I told him the names of common cities to boot. He seemed to understand. While doing this, he was loading...

Wow... his loading sucked. Sure he was new, but I started loading early on too, and I know I did better. Hell, I was loading and scanning alone. I also learned later on that he was loading for his old trailer, so yea...

At one point, a box came, I think it was a bike or something. He stopped to look at it, then took out his cell and took pics on something on the box. I'm just standing there waiting for him to load because we were getting backed up, and he's taking his time?! I didn't say anything though, I decided to give him a chance. Besides, I'm not his trainer. Even though I did give him some pointers on how to build a wall. The main things like not building collumns, and keeping the wall straight. Both of which they kept telling you during orientation, the week before actually going near a package.

That day was kinda busy, but not a huge deal. The trailer ended up being finished about 10 minutes earlier than normal. 10 minutes before the break basically.

My supervisor wanted the new guy to work on the next trailer alone, but he had me scan the first bunch of packages for him. This is because when you wait for a new trailer, the packages are still coming, so they can get backed up and even jammed. It's not a big deal though because the trailer is empty, so there's a lot of room to work with.

Anyways, I start scanning, and he's in the basement [the area under these fake floor flaps that are supposed to be filled first]. This area is easy to fill, as you don't have to lift packages above your head. However, I'm there scanning, and he's just looking at me, I'm pushing some packages down towards him to load, and he does nothing. My supervisor shows up and tells me to scan faster... [yea, I would but idiot here isn't moving the packages... I can't really do much now can I?]. So yea, I finish scanning, and my supervisor asks me to go to the floor, he takes the scanner to change it to the new guys name, and that was meant to be it for me in that trailer.

I'm on the floor, loading the misort cart, and two others are there. I'll call them 1 and 2. 1 tells 2 to grab some small packages. Obviously our supervisor wanted them to test the new guy. This is where he sends in some misorts, to see if the guy catches them. I'm a pro at this, I catch them all. My supervisor is on some vendetta to trick me now. rofl

2 was asked to put them on the chute, and make sure the guy didn't load them. You know, since if he did, that'd cost UPS money. Now, I'm not sure if he actually did try loading them or not. 2 did go on the trailer, but it may have been because the new guy was getting backed up. I could see packages all over the chute and to the sides. I couldn't see what was going on inside the trailer since it's up higher than the floor.

Break time comes along, I'm standing near my supervisor's bench. The new guy comes up and tells my supervisor that he quits. The flow was too much for him, it wasn't for him, blah blah. I wonder if he feels stupid having to say that while I was around. xd

My supervisor then asks me to grab the scanner so that he could change it back to my name. He also tells me that he's gonna send 1 and 2 to help me clean up the trailer.

Now, from what I saw of the mess, I didn't think I'd need both of them to help me. That is until I saw the trailer.

HOLY ********! gonk

At the other end of the trailer was a sad attempt at a wall. No, I can't call it that. It looked like the guy just threw packages over there to get them out of the way. It was such a sad, pathetic sight. All I could think was that I should go find my trainer and show him that mess. For if he saw that, I could get away with anything and he'd have no reason to get mad. Damn, man! How the ******** is that possible?!

Anyways, after break, 2 and I got it all cleaned up. 1 came back later and commented about how he hadn't seen this trailer so busy in a long time. 2 reminded him about that guy and how he messed it up.

Honestly... Oh, and on Friday, it was really busy... Way busier than Thursday, and you know what? I didn't get backed up once... Except for the normal trailer switch, which is out of my control. I was dumping the cart a lot too, and that tends to always back me up.

Monday's gonna be a b***h. At least it'll be worst for the shifts ahead of mine. domokun

Sounds like you had one hell of a day.

I can't think of anything as a comment, but I have to say that made an interesting read.

Ever thought about making books?

Funny thing was, it wasn't that bad of a day. I didn't have to load much, and since he was around, I couldn't be blamed for moving slow all that much.

Although, after he quit, there was two funny packages. One was HP, and it was huge. I'd said it was a computer from the 50's, but then someone came along and ruined my fun... Saying it was one of those huge printers. Shortly after that was a 40 pound package, maybe half the size of the other thing. The price was highlighted... 935$ to ship it! eek

Actually, Friday was worse. Aside from it being really busy... My scanner froze, and my supervisor had to go somewhere to get a new one. My trailer got so backed up. Although, it didn't seem so bad after what that guy did on Thursday.

Me writing books? Go up to any of my english teachers and say that. I want to be there to see the looks on their faces. They'd think you were insane. I don't remember what they hated so much about my essays and stuff, but none of them ever thought I was that great at anything they gave me to do. I swear they all just passed me because I didn't cause trouble.

That actually gave me an idea. I should go hunt them down with a printed page full of internet posts. Give them ******** nightmares with 1337 sp33k and poor grammar. Maybe they'll change my grades. rofl
