Welp.. being as there's news coming out about the upcoming season of Doctor Who...there might as well be a thread about it. Anyways....Martha Jones'll be back (after her stint on Torchwood). Joan Collins herself has signed up for the role of the eeeevil villian known as The Rani (a role originally played by Kate O'Mara some 20 years ago). Doctor Who keeps on thinking he's the only one left? HA! razz Man tho.. Edith Keeler as an evil Time Lady? Duuude! http://www.syfyportal.com/news424062.html

I heard Catherine Tait is the new companion.
She ruined my Christmas. I really don't like her.

The Rani is coming back...? o_O First time I've heard that. Source? Can't see how they're gonna manage that, with the whole "last of the time lords" thing. Yeah. Textbook Enigmatic I heard Catherine Tait is the new companion.

Oh man, I loved her. Don't diss her till you can spell her name! XD I like to see a character who isn't perfect and brave and intelligent and unrealistic as hell. >.>

They'd better have a damn good rationale for bringing back the Rani... I thought the guy who played Mickey was just gonna be in an audio play, and he was playing someone else? Maybe I'm wrong. I don't keep up with this stuff well. @_@

Yeah, he's playing a different character in an audio play.
Outpost Gallifrey Noel Clarke, who previously played Mickey Smith will be playing the lead role but Big Finish is keen to point out that this is not a return of Mickey Smith. Noel plays Kade, a tough, hard-bitten soldier. 'It's a completely different character for Noel,' explains writer and director, Nick Briggs, 'and it was a delight to watch him lap it up. I think people will see a side to Noel they never knew about. He has such incredible range as an actor, and breath-taking emotional power. You wait until you hear Kade angry. I'm surprised the Daleks didn't just pack up and go home!'
Maureen O'Brien (Vicki) is doing a voice in it too. biggrin I might have to listen to it just for her.

Got some confirmed stuff for the 4th season.
1: Agatha Christie!! SW33T!!
2: The Ood return in "The Planet of the Ood"...so we get to see their homeworld!! This ep takes place either before or after the Agatha Christie eppie.
3: His companion this is Donna Noble (the Runaway Bride) but Martha will return (after her stint on Torchwood).
4 Kylie Minogue will guest star as Astrid, a waitress aboard the Titanic, in the Christmas Special "Voyage of the Damned", set to air on 25 December 2007. Veteran character actor Bernard Cribbins will also make a cameo in this episode
5: The Doctor and Donna Noble will meet Agatha Christie, author of murder mysteries. Her part will be played by Fenella Woolgar in an episode, set in the 1920s, where she will be supported by famous comic actress Felicity Kendal, who will play the part of Lady Clemency Eddison.
6: The following folks will be in the Planet of the Ood and or Agatha Christie eps::Tim McInnerny, Felicity Jones, Christopher Benjamin, Tom Goodman-Hill, Ian Barritt, David Quilter, Adam Rayner, Daniel King and Charlotte Eaton.
And in other news...Sarah Jane Adventures will be airing soon (all they're saying is Autumn) so wee.... the adventures of Sarah Jane Smith and her sonic...lipstick. *sighs*
And yes...there's gonna be Sonic Lipstick toys...meh..I'd rather have a Sonic Screwdriver... heck I'd rather be DRINKING a Screwdriver right now. *lol*
And apperantly one of the eps is called "Whatever Happened to Sarah Jane" and focuses on her childhood pre-the Doctor (this was confirmed in a recent issue of the Doctor Who magazine)

XD I mean, Ben Kingsley is a REALLY well-known actor, and I don't think he's ever acted in TV before, has he? He's pretty high-profile for Doctor Who. :B It WOULD be awesome, though.

I'll tell you one thing. The moment I read, and saw the pick of a woman picking up the Master's ring and there being a laugh. I knew who it was. Hands down finally it was the Rani. Now this would be interesting seeing as how the Rani is a woman. xp

Okay, then, I stand corrected. :B I still don't think it's realistic, though, to think he's playing Davros (as AWESOME as that would be). That was a long-a** time ago and since then he's won tons of awards including an Oscar and become pretty famous world-wide, and take a look at his upcoming schedule on IMDB. There are a LOT of movies listed that he's currently working on, which means he's pretty busy, and Doctor Who isn't listed on top of that. @_@

I'm quite excited that Catherine Tate is going to be on the show, I thought she was hilarious in the Runaway Bride. Best Line? "This friend, just before she left, did she punch you in the face?!"
Also, if you guys haven't seen it look up the sketch between David and Catherine on youtube. It's hilarious, if you can understand them. Also, major swooning over David's actual Scottish accent. biggrin If you want the link, feel free to PM me.

I've seen the sketch. In truth the Rani turned up 3 times. There was a Dr. Who Children in need special YEARS ago staring Doctor number 3 to Doctor number 7. The Rani created a devise that would send the Doctor into a dimension where nothing makes any sense. Something that would drive the Doctor mad. However, the Doctor did something that resulted in HER going into that dimension. I would say, that her coming back was a case where the effects of the Time War caused her ship to pop out of that dimension. That's the explanation I can come up with.
