Yet another topic from me.
Here, we can toss around what Nintendo has planned for their next....next-gen system. What exactly did they mean when they said to look into the DS to see whats in store for the Revolution? Which features would you like to see utilized that the Gamecube did not do good enough? How will the "revolutionize" the gaming world once again?
So just toss around ideas. 3nodding

Maybe it will use some basic form of VR. I'd say some form of super duper VR but we have to remember we are only in the 21st century.

Maybe upgrade on the vibration of the pad or surround sound and making it even more realistic...

Anoohilator Maybe upgrade on the vibration of the pad or surround sound and making it even more realistic... Some games do support dolby Surround Sound. Not sure which ones, I know Mario Kart: DD does. =\ I'd like to see more online support. That's what Nintendo has been lacking, and why people perfer the Xbox over the GC. IF we could play games such as SSBM online that would be awesome. Also, it'd be cool to have a system like Xbox Live to manage your online play. Improved graphics is a must. BETTER DESIGN! I don't like the Cube's deisgn. Too....Cubey. XD! DVD and CD player. Another reason people perfer the other systems over the Cube.

You know what would be the best thing ever? If they made it so that on Metroid Prime 2, you can do an online multi-player. The arena you fight in though would be on the entire planet of Aether and have up to 20 people in each game. Think of all the hiding places and how difficult it would be to win a deathmatch!

It ate my last post...
In short, this is what I thought the Revolution needs to blow everyone away:
-DVD/CD player -Online play -Help from Square-Enix -Help from Sega (more)
More titles from SE would attract even more 3rd party developers, methinks.

Well guys, doesn't anybody remember this site that RNX found awhile back? Basically it said that Nintendo and Warp Pipe systems are working together to have free online play. Sort like XBox Live, but free.
And it DOESN'T suck 3nodding

I don't know what to expect form the Revlution at all and it doesn't help that I haven't really been reading up on it. There is one thing that I get from Nintendo saying look into the DS for the Revolution and that is they might incorperate some sort od touch screen, pad or ehat have you, but thats all I have in terms of looking into the DS.
The things I would like to see have been mentioned already but they are: 1. Online play (This would be a big draw for people) 2. DVD/CD player (Would be nice to have) 3. The ability to play past games from N64/SNES/NES on one system (Would be great in my opinion, even though they are porting games now) 3.B. To be able to play GBA games on the system as well. (This has always been a thought of mine and if it were to happen I would be in heaven because you would now be able to play the entire Nintendo library on one system. Everything from Gamcube to Virtual boy and anything in between.)
Now even though 3.B. has always been a dream of mine I don't know how realistic it is because I really don't see Nintendo making a system that can play thier entire library of games (Not because they won't, but because I don't think that the technology is advanced enough yet, but I could be wrong I don't know.)

I know very well that they can. They would have to remake all of those N64 games for the GC, turn all games from other systems into GBA cartridges, and make a new Gameboy Player that can play DS games as well. Then they could put their entire library on 1 system, but they are too busy creating new games. Besides, more money to them if we have to keep buying systems.

I figured they would have to do something along those lines, but I think that would still be a great thing to do.

Well, Nintendo has always been one for innovation, I think this goes without saying. And even if they make a game which fails, or doesnt do stupendously, they try to work in the concept later. For example, the DS.
What does the DS have that makes it cool?
Microphone-Remember that piece of s**t "Hey you Pikachu!"? Yeah, that game was terrible. But now, they are working the mic into DS. The concept was still there.
Two Screens- Game and Watch originally had two screens, and now its back.
Touch Screen-Sorry, I got nothing here.
But, there were asome other things Nintendo did that they havent touched on yet with the DS. Such as a gyro. There was this Kirby game, called "Tilt 'n' Tumble" and it was on the GBC. The cool thing about this game was that it had a gyro built into the cartridge. So, instead of using the buttons to move around, you litterally leaned the GBC back and forth to move. You also flicked the system up to jump, and back down to slam. It was, for lack of a better word, tight. Now, the new Wario Inc. game for the GBA has a gyro, but I think things like this will be involved into the Revolution.
I personally think, that we again, shall see built in mic, and perhaps stylus pads on controllers. Maybe not pads ON the controllers, but pads can be used AS controllers. I also think we shall see gyro's built into the controllers. Anyway, thats ny two-cents,
PS. WOOO First post in my new guild!

o_o; Yeah, if DS had Analog Sticks, that'd be cool, but then they wouldn't be able to fold unless there was a hole thingy for the Analog Stick. ^^

Well, I'd expect:
1.) Online (Because people are wanting to play online these days. So they chose PS2 and Xbox over gamecube because of online game play) 2.) DVD/CD player (same thing. People are wanting the PS2 and Xbox because of this) 3.) Better graphics (though the gamecube's great, it seems that Xbox still tops it.) 4.) Still be able to play Gameboy Games on that system, seeing as the previous systems allowed you to play GBC and GBA.
I think that's all in my opinion. They should add something to such as something that the Xbox and PS2 doesn't have. Though I can't really think of anything that it needs xp
