Sega forever!
Yessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss!
In all seriousness, though. I think the Sonic games aren't bad, people perceive them diffrently than before, and many are biased and want Sonic to die.
I will say that They've yet to hit a game as totally awesome as SA2. Come to think of it, why can't the Wii have backwards compatibility for the Dreamcast and Saturn? I'd buy it.

How do Tango and Sheik qualify for a "and the like"? Yeah, I'm a fan of Sonic games, believe it or not. I don't like the direction they're going in now though,

I wonder what Yu Suzuki is doing and why it isn't Shenmue 3.

Well, Sega is going to stop supporting Dreamcasts pretty soon.
*locks Dreamcast in golden security safe*
Given, there are only two games I need my Dreamcast for. SA2 and Sonic Shuffle. Both awesome games. I have SA2:B, so that's covered. Now, if only they will port Sonic Shuffle.
I have SA, but it doesn't play so consistently. I really have to get SA biggrin X sometime.
Also, I remember reading that they were making Samba De Amigo for the Wii. I haven't played the origional, but it looks great, and we all know how awesome Sega's music is.
"Dreams Dreams", baby.

I've found another.
monk-Genesis-sword
For Me....this is based on my opinion.
The Categories: Games, Marketing Strategy, Objective, Sales, Hype,

Nintendo-
Games-7.0// Nintendo has had some great game during it's first year into the market. There's Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime 3, Resident Evil 4 and Scarface to name a few. Not to mention the upcoming Mario Galaxy and Supersmash Bros. Brawl. But, if you look at the quantity of good games, the bad far outweighs the bad. As for quality, I think Zelda, Paper Mario and Metroid speak for themselves.
Marketing Strategy-8.0// One could argue that Nintendo's marketing strategy has improved over the years. They have not approached the mainstream demographic, and look at the results? Wiiplay outsold Zelda. The Blue Ocean strategy has proved to be an excellent course of action ala Nintendo. Their consistent ideals stating that innovation triumphs over power has worked really well for them.
Objective-9.5// I think what Nintendo was hoping for from the very beginning of the revelation of the wii has been accomplished. While the online kinda....well....sucks. They really came into the market and people had their doubts, but they showed critics and gamers alike what they're really made of. Twilight Princess didn't perform as well as Miyamoto had hoped for though.
Sales-9.0-A Hold on Japan, doing exceptionally well elsewhere in the world including the Americas. Even crappy games like Mario Party 8 and WiiPlay are performing well.
Hype-8.75-The Hype is losing its momentum by a bit. But, there's been a lot talk about the wii. You can't deny that. More so than the gamecube ever garnered.

X-box 360-
Games-8.5-If you combine Quality and Quantity, it's fair to say that X-box 360 wins the games category. With Bioshock, Halo 3, Gears of War, etc. X-box 360 has done extremely well for itself in terms of games.
Marketing Stategy-7.5-Good but not great. The 360's selling rate is pretty solid. But with the red circle of death, it's losing a lot of its profits.
Objective-6.5-I don't think Microsoft intended for its console to be in the position it's in right now. It's great that they're doing far better than the PS3, but when a Microsoft representative keeps saying that they are are the one that are driving the console market, and they're just barely in first place (not even), you know they're just full of it.
Sales-7.5-Great Sales, but not excellent. Thanks to Halo 3 and Bioshock they're picking a lot of momentum though.
Hype-7.0-Not too much. But it deserves props for it's excellent online service that a lot of critics are talking about.

PS3-
Games-6.0-When you have 2 games that had a lot of hype and they really didn't deliver...you know there's a problem. *cough* Heavenly Sword and Lair *cough*. That being said, there's still Tekken, and Ninja Gaiden.
Marketing Strategy-5.0-Only a temporary price drop? Stubbourn and persistent attitude=chaos.
Objective-5.0-Sony definitely didn't intend to be in last place. While it is indefinite, they are behind by quite a bit. A lot of things that could have gone wrong for a console company, went wrong for Sony.
Sales-6.0-Thanks to the price drop, PS3s are doing pretty good. And new quality games should it drive it's sales.
Hype-6.0-PS3 had a lot of hype at the beggining, and then it just started to wash away. Still, Killzone 2 and some other games like littlebigplanet should create some hype.
Notice his name. "monk-genesis-sword" I believe that is a reference to some very early Sega systems. Nomad, Genesis, and katana, respectively.

But, I mean, c'mon they had to do this. The Wii-mote + nunchuk is the Samba de Amigo controller. I, too, never had the chance to play the original. So long as they don't bog the game down with mini-games and focus more on the actual game (I'm looking at you Sonic and the Secret Rings...), I'm sure it will be an awesome package.

Hell, I'm hoping for a port with more recent songs. You know, things like the SA2 theme song. Sonic's theme from SA2. Maybe a remix of Shadow's theme from SA2. I know you hate SatSR, but Seven Rings in hand would make a lovely addition imo.
I should tell y'all. I think Sega is following me. Everyone at nightsintodreams.com was saying that JoD needed more time, and it got pushed back.

So, how do you guys think they should improve the Sonic the Hedgehog series. On Xbox 360 and PS3, forget 3D altogether, just make an incredible vibrant, lush, complex 2D Sonic game and have a gem collecting game similar to the one from Sonic the Hedgehog 3. On Wii, I really liked Sonic and the Secret Rings, but by no means does that mean it doesn't have a lot of room to improve.

-Music: Tango, I know you are a staunch supporter of this game's music, but most of us absolutely hate it. And you know why it is so hated? The songs have lyrics. Get rid of the lyrics, and you have angsty, Arabic-inspired rock, which would fit the game perfectly.

-Voice Acting: Get some good actors, or drop it. It wasn't needed in the first three games, and if it's this bad, it sure as hell isn't needed now.

-Story: Who plays a Sonic game for its story. Sega is overcomplicating a relatively simple series. Drop the story. If a situation must be set up, get a narrator, preferably Morgan Freeman, to set the scene in a beginning cut-scene.

-Gameplay: I enjoyed the gameplay. As far as controls are concerned, I just wish they were a teensy bit tighter. However, what I do have a big beef with is this mission structure. Sega, drop it. The first three Sonic games were played through numerous times by fans of the games. But it wasn't because there was a mission structure, because there wasn't one. It was because the levels were incredibly complex and offered tons of room for secrets and exploration. If you're looking for replayability in the game, quit being lazy and make the levels more complicated with alternative routes and such. This is not a game for casual audiences, so give the hardcore crowd what they want.

-Graphics: Not a problem. Great style and looks very fast on the Wii. Maybe better textures, but it shouldn't really matter because you're not stopping to look at them.

-Multiplayer: Drop the minigames. Now. Super Monkey Ball is for minigames. Sonic the Hedgehog is not. If you're really set on multiplayer, include a racing mode with power-ups, but do not bring minigames back. They're terrible.

I believe the original game used songs performed by Latino artists, and later, you could download music from Sega's library through the built-in internet capabilities of the Dreamcast. Wow, that would be a great way to implement WiiConnect24, by having songs automatically uploaded to your Wii. Plus, you could probably have online multiplayer. Guitar Hero III has it on Wii, I assume Sega could do it too...

Go to Youtube, look up "Seven Rings in hand" and look at the comments for videos. Or, there's an excellent example in my comedy thread.
We want our Chaos Emeralds back, and the ability to transform into to Super Sonic, and would it kill them to bring back machine guns and rocket launchers from Shadow the Hedgehog?
