Lyss has compiled a list of some do's and don'ts for losing weight. If you have any other tips, feel free to add them!
Do:
+ Go on a walk at least 5 times a week for a half hour. Not only does it help shed the weight, but it helps to clear your mind! + Drink more water. Most experts recommend at least 8 glasses of water a day. + Get involved in your community. Being a happy person helps keeping your energy levels high, as well as self esteem. + Watch what you consume. We all love the chips, popcorn, and other snack-type foods. Going with a piece of fruit or making a salad is a more healthier choice, and it doesn't fill you up with all sorts of processed starches, fats, and sugars. + Play video games. Some of you might be going, "WHAT?! How does sitting on my buttocks help me lose weight?" I'm not talking about Super Mario Brothers or Halo. Games such as Dance Dance Revolution and Wii Sports help shed the weight because of the movement involved with each game.
DO NOT:
- Drink energy drinks on a daily basis. These can lead to health problems, such as stomach erosion, and other problems. We don't want you to crash, now, do we? - Eat because you can. Eating because you're bored doesn't help shed the pounds. - Go on an eating disorder. It may seem like a good idea at the time, but down the road, you'll cause more harm than good. - Do a daily routine at a fitness gym for 7 days straight. Your body needs to rest once in a while; otherwise, you'll be visiting the doctor a little more often than usual.
If you have any other tips, feel free to add them!

DO NOT
eat nothing at all. Please, eat something, but something healthy. Eating nothing can cause problems with your stomach, dizziness, and can turn into an eating disorder.

DO NOT
Drink a ton when you go to parties. Sure, you may be dancing to burn off some of those calories you get from snacks, but most drinks like beer have A LOT of calories! Opt for a glass of water or a soda.

What you should also put up their is to eat smaller portions. By simply eating a smaller plate of food, or having one less helping during dinner, you can cut off quite a bit.
Also you should put that losing weight the healthy way takes a lot of time. My best friend went from 170 to 120 lbs by doing everything you said on the 'Do' list, but it took her like 1-2 years to do it.

i have no idea if this will actually work but have more, smaller meals. It will certainly help with digestion. and over all you'll probably find yourself eating more or less the same. Maybe a little less because your not needing to store so much energy.

Avoid buying snacks or soda from machines. You will soon find yourself feeling better and it saves money. Try to avoid fast food as much as possible. The large amounts of unhealthy fats, carbs, calories, and grease are very bad for you. Start an exercise plan or join a school sport. I, for example, run cross country. That may be extreme for some people. If you do start to exercise, drink lots of water to stay hydrated. Eat fruits. They taste good and they are a good source of natural sugar( not like the crap in soda). This is all, by the way, based on my own personal experience.

I really agree with your tips and ideas. I even do a few of these myself (Been walking for close to four years now) and I've been making an effort to drink more water and stuff. If you work in a store or someplac where you're surrounded with food, it's easy to gain weight (I attest). Try to bring lunch from home or get something light or healthy for lunch. Try to avoid having snacks unless they're necessary, and go for walks during your breaks.

DO:
Exercise. It's the simplest way to lose excess body fat. Also, remember that it's more important to notice things like how a favourite tight pair of jeans fit on you as opposed to your weight in pounds as muscle weighs more then fat.
DON'T:
Expect instant results. =)

Kind of a lot of repeat suggestions. Angelic seems to have come up with a few different ones.
How about for an idea to lose weight by not aiming too far. Trying to reach an impossible weight will simply drain your will power. Aim for a reasonable target, Then when you do achieve it. Try to stay there!
There are no real quick fixes. sure people know about liposuction. But it's not something that you can urn round an say "I worked that weight off and it's going to stay off. Because your just going to put most of it back on again.
Not a lot of people know this. but as a testiment to Will Power. My Granddad was in the forgotten Army in WWII and so probably got hooked on smoking then. When he decided to quit when my mom was a teenager 40ish years ago. He apparently got all of his cigarette's and smoked them all up. After that he never smoked again. He died in 2000, aged just over 87 years old
