Pawing at the ground impatiently, Hesperos felt absolutely exhausted. He had been wandering around looking for Ghost for 2 days. It had actually been weeks since he had seen her, but he had been hoping he would just randomly see her like he usually did. But now he was getting desperate. He had never felt like this before, and he was not liking this feeling. Walking through the forest at a faster then moderate pace, Hesperos wasn't sure where exactly he was going. Where could she be?
Pausing, Hesperos began to head for the beach where they had first met. He had seen her walking along the beach, and she had seemed to appear almost like... a ghost. He remembered thinking about how beautiful she was and how he never wanted her to ever be out of his sights. And now he didn't even know where she was... Muttering to himself, Hesperos quickened his pace until he felt the soft sand on his hooves.

After talking with the mare Artemis, Ghost was giddy at the thought of running into Hesperos again. Artemis would wander around all day and night, searching for her love. Ghost needed to do that as well, and sitting around and waiting wasn't going to bring her favorite stallion back to her! So, she decided to wake up early that morning, and wander around the land as she always did.
With a small sigh, she decided to give herself a slight break when the afternoon had appeared, and she decided to go to her favorite spot! The beach always called to her, and she could small the salty scent on the humid air. It was always cooler by the beach, and she moved herself into a trot so that she could make it to her destination faster.
It was sudden.. by Ghost felt her body stop when she spotted a dark figure, who's long hair was flying in the wind. "It.. it couldn't be!" The pink mare was almost teary eyed, and she couldn't believe that HE was THERE!
"HESPEROS!" she ran quickly now, and didn't stop running into she had finally made it to her one and only. He looked so amazing, and her face was flushing in embarrassment. Had he forgotten about her? Did he still have feelings for her, as she did for him? So many thoughts brushed through her mind, and she needed to know before she could allow her heart to truly fall for him.

Squinting slightly, Hesperos thought he saw something in the distance. He turned away not knowing that what he just saw was what he desired the most. But then he heard his name and the familiar, sweet voice. Whipping his head around, he then saw her. His heart almost stopped when she began running towards him. A split second ago, he was worried that she might not even recognize her because it had been so long since they had last seen each other. But now, what if she didn't like him anymore? Could she have developed feelings for another stallion because of his absence?
He wanted to yell out her name, but all he could muster up was a soft voice with an exasperated sigh at the end, "Ghost." Stopping, he took a second to look at her. She looked as beautiful as ever... "How have you been?" That was rather pathetic... Is that what you want to ask the love of your life who you haven't seen in ages? Shaking the thoughts out of his mind, Hesperos hoped that he didn't sound too nervous.

The bright female was in heaven, and all she could do was nuzzle Hesperos affectionately. She had never done something like that to him before, but she couldn't take it anymore, and she wanted to be mature and show him how much she cared about him. "I have been alright.. but I haven't been ok without you!"
With her usual pout, she shuffled her feet, but then quickly gleamed at him. Usually she was too timid to say anything, but her conversation with the wise mare had made her more mature, and all she wanted to do was express how she truly felt, rather then hide from her feelings forever! She felt that it was alright to remain immature for certain issues, but when it came to Hesperos, she needed to grow up a little, and act more like a lady!
"How have you been? I have missed you so much, I can't take it!" Eying Hesperos carefully, she decided to take another bold move. She moved her head under his, and just snuggled against him. All of the horrible stallions she had met.. and all of the horrible and, rash things they had said to her.. being with her true gentleman was where she wanted to be.. forever.
"I am better now, since I found you again."

Hesperos was a little shocked by her display of affection but he wasn't complaining. He nuzzled her back just thinking about the time he had wasted without her. Never again... would he leave her side. He cared about her too much, and he could never bear to see her with anybody else. Now, Hesperos was beginning to feel a sort of protectiveness towards her, not in a bad way though. He just never wanted to see her get hurt in any way. Was this the feeling that his father was talking about?
"I've missed you so much too. Being without you... It's just not possible." Looking down at the mare, he still couldn't believe what was happening. Everything that he thought that was going to go wrong was going absolutely wonderfully. She hadn't forgotten him, and now he was nuzzling her. There was no way that anything could go wrong.
After she spoke, Hesperos could feel his heart welling up. He didn't know what to say, because he should have never left her in the first place. "I'll never leave your side again..." Closing his eyes, he just wanted to be at peace with himself and enjoy the moment.

She was relieved, and remained in the moment for a few minutes after he spoke. It was clear that she felt the same way, so she didn't feel the need to repeat herself too much! Besides, it was nice enough to just listen to him state what she always wanted to hear, and she truly was a lucky mare!
"So what have you been doing? Were you able to catch up with your family, or go on any adventures?" She had moved away from him now, only so she could give him space again. In her mind, she imagined that Hesperos was off soaring in the sky, and discovering new areas and places. She was a dreamer afterall, so she was constantly letting her mind wander on such issues.
"You would have hated all of the stallions I have met.. Hesperos some of them made me feel so worried.." she shook her head, and flushed at the thought. "I don't feel like I can be safe around anyone besides you, so I am happy to stay besides you."

Hesperos was also feeling like the luckiest stallion on the earth right now. He just couldn't express his feelings into words or expressions. He just was glad that he was able to be here with her. That was all he could ask for.
"I haven't been doing much except wandering around. My family's busy with who knows what so I didn't really talk to them. Did you see any of your family? I didn't have any adventures... Just mostly wandering..." He never really had any adventures since he was looking for her this entire time, but he didn't feel like mentioning that quite yet... Chuckling to himself, Hesperos nuzzled her affectionately once more.
Lifting his head and gazing down at her, Hesperos was again shocked by what she said. "What? Did they do something to you?" Raising his brow, he sort of felt a flame flicker within him. He wanted to crush anybody that would even dare to make Ghost feel uncomfortable. Hesperos didn't even know where this sudden flare of emotion came from. He just was angry that he wasn't around to protect her.

She giggled at him, and then brought her mouth into its usual smile. "My family is the same as well, always busy! Our families are just like that it seems." she happily took his nuzzle and wagged her tail in a happy expression. She had forgotten all of the sadness she felt just a few minutes ago, and she was thankful for the boost of positive that Hesperos had brought her!
Though, at his next comment, she was weary, since she felt bad about dampering his mood. She felt though, that it was good of him to know, and she shook her head quickly.
"No no, I was alright thankfully. But there were a few stallions that treated me as if I was just a piece of something pretty, and they weren't even listening to what I was saying." she looked up at Hesperos again, but then lowered her eyes. "That's not how you think of me, right? I have a mind, and a soul. I don't think looks are the only thing that matters, so I am just so frustrated." Ah, she hated rambling! But, it was bothering him before..

Hesperos couldn't help but nod. "Yea, I still get to talk with my father once in awhile. I still have a lot to learn from him." He didn't ever want her to be sad, because when she was happy, so was he. That was the greatest feeling, to see her smile. A sort of content feeling filled Hesperos heart but that was quickly replaced by a flare of anger.
He needed to learn to control his emotions... Hesperos's eyes softened as she continued on, "Of course not. I really love talking to you and hearing your thoughts on things. I don't just love you for your physical appearance. I love you for everything you are." Pausing, Hesperos just realized what he actually said. Hm. Not quite what I wanted to say, but it's so true. His heart melted as she talked, "I never want to see anybody disrespecting you or you feeling hurt. I want to always be there for you, if you let me." Sighing softly, Hesperos nuzzled her affectionately hoping that he would achieve what he wanted to do. He had never felt so strongly about anybody.

She figured that he would say exactly what she wanted to hear, and she held a wide grin before deciding what to tell him. It was complicated, and for a moment she felt terrible that she brought it up. But.. it would have been worse to lie to him, right?
"I think it is pretty obvious that I would allow that!" she giggled lightly, but then let her grin fall into a stale expression. "It wasn't just that I was disrespected, but I guess I was shown a.. different aspect of life. I never realized there were such heartless creatures out there, who want to use mares for their own horrible games." she shook her head, but then brought her posture back up triumphantly.
"There is no need for you to worry though, if there is someone who has always taught me how to handle myself, that is my sister. She is so strong, that if it wasn't for what she has shown me, I probably wouldn't have been alright!" With a light sigh, she was able to smile again finally.

Relaxing slightly, Hesperos felt oddly overprotective, but he quickly stifled that emotion before he felt any worse. He just let himself melt as he gazed into her eyes. "I see. I guess it was sort of a life lesson then? At least nothing happened to you..." Pausing, a light-hearted smile appeared on Hesperos's face. "That's good." He paused again. "You know, someday I would really love to meet your family. And if you wanted, you could meet my father, Aurorealis."
"I would really enjoy that if you don't mind, of course." Chucking slightly, Hesperos looked for approval or disapproval in her face at his suggestion.

"Yes.. I guess you could call it a life lesson. But the stallions I have met have only assured me how lucky I am for you." It felt so good, to just be confident and forward in front of Hesperos. She used to hide how much she cared for him, but now she could shout it anywhere, just so he could hear it and see her happiness.
"My family? And your family? I would love that!" She did want her sister to finally meet Hesperos as well, since sometimes she questioned who the stallion was. "Well, since we should have children one day, I think it is important for family to be known and everything." Since Ghost was very into family herself.
"When is the last time you have seen your father?" For some reason, she started to get worried, since she knew how much Hesperos looked up to his father, just how she did to her own family.
She wondered if they should travel somewhere else.. together. It would be a shame if they separated again, and she brought a smile on her face before popping the question. "I want to stay with you for awhile, or.. I am going to stay with you." She snuggled up next to him, and wondered what he thought about THAT idea.
