This RP is loosely based on the game Geist ∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞ What's going on..? Where am I..? Why can't I feel my legs... or arms... or anything else..? Am I... dead? Not quite, but about as close as you could get to it. You've been sucked from your body, your very essence, your soul if you will, has been siphoned from your mortal shell. A government program that wishes to create invisible, invincible soldiers has captured many and abused many soldiers for these experiments. Officially they are volunteers, but the only reason they were chosen was because they were most likely to survive the soul-wrenching process of ripping a person's essence from themselves. Even then, only three survived. They, that is to say everything that makes them them, are being held in separate containment field while their bodies are kept in absolute zero in order for study. The subjects have been kept in a simulated, drugged reality with almost no idea who they are. They are constantly studied and on watch; there are no exceptions. Except for one little occurrence. Something happened. Some lapse in security, an accident, whatever it was. One ghost (sorry, poltergeist. It's discouraged around the base to use the G word) got out. And released the other ghosts. Now the military has a big problem. The soldiers, trained soldiers, that they forcefully ripped from their bodies are out, with powers that even the highest-ups don't fully understand. These things are confused and disorganized, but they may quickly gain hold of their powers and understand who they are and who did this to them. The guards believe what they are doing is right, a means justify the ends kind of thing. But then why are they so afraid that poltergeists will want revenge?

∞ The Ghosts ∞
Powers
The three poltergeists have a small, but powerful arsenal of weapons. Lets give a little list:
Possession is the deadliest and most useful gift these souls have. A weak willed person can be completely taken over by a poltergeist, with only a few fighting back, especially in cases of deeply ingrown social taboos (an example would be forcing a very shy person into go naked in Times Square). The 'geist has access to all the possessed person's memories and knowledge, temporarily gaining the skills of that person (example: possess a engineer, gain temporary knowledge of how the Empire State Building is built down to the last rivet). This skill is essential for the ghost to stay 'alive', as to stay outside of a set form for too long risks having your atoms crumble and disperse. A hint, a person who is agitated or scared is much easier to posses.
As wispy, ethereal atoms, the poltergeists can easily change their shape in order to slip through small cracks and holes. They cannot simply go through walls, and must have some throughway's.
And of course the classic moving. A poltergeist can 'possess' an object and move it around. It cannot, say, fire a gun, as that has too many moving parts, but a guard who sees a bucket moving across the ground and a telephone start ringing off the hook with no one on the other line is going to get freaked out, and will be much easier to posses. An extremely angry 'geist can move objects with lethal force.
Without the constraints of flesh, the ghosts are not effected by time as much as we are. Hyper-attentive, everything moves slow around them, except of course for other poltergeists.
Using air currents, the ghosts can float in the air. They need something to float on of course, but it's a useful trick.
Poltergeists cannot be seen by normal men, or course, but can be sensed by certain readers the guards use.
The Ghost's Mission
The poltergeist's missions are essential the same. Though some might want revenge more than their bodies back, to accomplish both goals means taking down the facility and those who run it.

∞ The Facility ∞
Now, even though the were lax enough to let their greatest assets escape, the men who work this facility aren't stupid. They've created fields that keep the ethereal bodies of poltergeists out and allow solid things through. This poses a problem for the ghosts, but they can be tricked by possessing a person or animal and walking through it then.
Remember, only a scared or agitated person can be possessed, so one of the soldier's greatest defenses is to keep a level head.
A poltergeist can't go through solid objects, so the next greatest defense is an air-tight room. Ghosts can't do anything if they're trapped in a room with no way out.

∞ Rules ∞ Gotta have 'em.
1. No god modding (duh) 2. If a 'geist RPer attempts to posses a soldier RPer, they must use the Possession Meter (more on that later) 3. No cybering. I felt that was mandatory, but also slightly redundant. I mean... you don't have a body so... 4. If you are a 'geist, when you are in your Ghost form, post in the Whisper style. When you posses someone, stop your post with '--' and continue in another post with the normal Say style. Only people, not objects though, or else we'd be switching every 30 seconds. 5. When someone ends their post with '--', be courteous and let them finish their full post before you post. 6. OOC comments are (( like this )) 7. Almost forgot. This is LITERATE! I want you to have at least, at least, a paragraph a post. I'm not that strict, I understand that sometimes you simply can't, but at least try. 8. no talking liek this plz. it anoying and hardish to read 9. No smaller than 10 font please. Don't care what color you use, so long as its readable. 10. Please post at least once a day. If you are going to be gone for a while (with school coming I don't see how, but, whatever), tell me, OK? Or else I'm just going to kick you out. 11. Have fun!
∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞ The Possession Meter
This is simple, so pay attention and no one will have any problems. When you posses someone who is an actual RPer, I want you to use the Random Number Action. Smallest number being 1, largest number being 10. If the number you get is 5 or lower, you posses the person. If it's 6 or higher, the person pushes you out.
It's sort of a fight, see, because the possessed person can fight whenever he wants (try to be slightly fair about it so we can push the story along) by using the random number. If it's still 5 or less, the person is still possessed. If it gets higher, than the character has summoned enough will power to push the ghost out.
If the victim of possession feels that their character is significantly tired or scared, but still wishes to fight back, the Meter moves in the ghost's favor by three clicks. That is to say, the "still possessed" range would be from 1 to 8, putting the victim at a much lower, but not impossible chance of breaking free. Again, though, I implore you to play fair. If your character is totally freaking out, don't even fight back with the Random Number, just go with it.
Of course, if the ghost is kicked out, it could always try again, and in some cases just might. But again, be fair and focus more on the story than necessarily winning a Possession match.
If you are confused about it, feel free to PM me.

I'm usually easily manipulated since I'm still pretty young. Appearance: Red orange hair a little bit further than my shoulders usually up. Red brown eyes. Angular face. Rather pretty. Bio: After my parents died I was recruited as a guard. I have been working there for 4 years and they just moved me up and taugh me about the poltergesist's. Anything Else: While on the streets I usually have a cloak that covers almost my whole body except for a little bit of my feet and my face. I'm very easily manipulated since I'm so young and inexperienced. I'm also moody which makes it easy for the poltergeists, but I'm very strong for my age and I might have a small chance of fighting a poltergeist even if I'm moody.

(( START!!! )) "This is a nice place. You are in no danger. Just rest. This is a nice place. You are in no danger. Just rest. This is a..." The recording went on like it always did. Robert floated a few inches off the ground, imagining sandy beeches and calm seas. Deep down he could tell something was wrong. ("This is a nice place") Terribly, terribly wrong. ("You are in no danger") But that voice... It was as compelling as always. And Robert- ("Just rest.") - just rested. He bathed in the completely unchanging monotony of this place.
Robert heard and felt a 'wumph'. That was new. And then silence. That was also new. The voice had stopped. Robert could hear other voices, far off and kind of slow, but obviously distressed. "What happened!" "A gas line blew." What is-?" "Will someone shut that ******** alarm off?!" Silence for a few seconds. "OK, everything still working?" Another pause. Looks like power to G-Tank One has been cut." "Well fix it!" "It's probably OK on the emergency power for a while." "Just try to fix it anyway."
That's not the ocean. Where was he? Robert stood up. Well, stood up isn't really the word for it, but Robert didn't notice. What he did come to notice was the fact that he was in a dark cylinder. It wasn't very big, maybe not any bigger than he was. Robert's mind began climbing from the drugged state it had been it and he slowly got his wits back. It was dark in here, but he could see. He looked around a saw a tiny crack of light, no bigger than his big finger, in the bottom left of the wall. He bent down and tried to look through it, pressing his eye to it. Except... he didn't. When he went forward to the hole, he sort of... slipped through. He stood up and looked around, still dazed but getting there, He turned and saw a man bent down on the other side of the cylinder. He was moving weird, kind of slow like. He moved back quicker than normal and his mouth opened as a slow stream of billowing smoke came out from where he was working: <******** still didn't know what was going on, but he could figure out well enough that the man was an enemy. Robert concentrated on the man, looking to see if he was armed or if he had any identification. He seemed to be focused very intently on his task, as he hadn't noticed Robert a bit. Robert was thinking about the man this way (thinking about who he was, you see), and slowly an orange light appeared floating lazily around the man. Robert reached and touched it. He felt a tug and all at once-

- he was starring straight at the container. Everything had taken on a sharper quality than before, and things were moving at normal speed. Todd got up from his knees and- Wait? Todd? No... his name was Robert. Robert Kinomoto. But he knew that right now it was also Todd. He lifted his/Todd's hands up. Clearly they were not his hands. What was going on? Was he now in some other guy's body? He/Todd stood up and looked left and saw the control panel for the G-Tanks. How did he know that? He guessed it was because Todd knew it.
"Hey Todd, you got that line fixed yet?" someone from down the hall yelled. Robert hesitated then yelled back in the man he was in's gruff voice, "Yeah, just a few more minutes." He approached the console and saw the shut-down controls for Tanks 2 and 3. As he reached for them he felt a sharp jab in his mind ("We're not supposed to touch those!") and he put his hand to his head. The feeling passed, though he could still feel a small throbbing in the back of his mind. He knew (because Todd knew) that there were more like Robert in those Tanks. He still didn't know what 'more like Robert' meant, but he had to find out. He reached out and pulled the levers, just as he felt the final mental kick pushing him out of Todd's body.
(( here's what i was talking about with the stop and than resume thing in the Rules. it's easier to write both at the same time, and then just Cut the second part out. that way there's not much of a wait between parts ))

As Maia listened to the ever present voice, she pictured herself floating along through different breathtaking places. There was a beautiful beach, a lush jungle, even an awe inspiring volcano. She pictured herself following a path, coming to a cliff and diving off, falling along right next to a waterfall and landing in the pool beneath. It all seemed so real.
But there was something not quite right. She could feel it. When she thought about it, she had been feeling it for a long long time. She couldn't explain, but she had a nagging feeling in the back of her mind that said she didn't belong wherever she was.
Then from somewhere in the distance, she heard a loud clunk. There were new voices and much shouting. She tried her best to ignore them, but it was a bit difficult. After a while there was another noise rather close to her and the monotonous voice stopped.
Not sure what was going on, Maia opened her eyes and found that she was actually in a rather narrow and dark tube. That constant notion of something being amiss was now all the more strong, and she knew she had to find a way out. She tried pushing against the walls, but for some reason it didn't work.
Maia looked around as best she could, and found a small c***k of light shining through what she presumed to be the door. Reaching up, she tried to grab hold of it to try and pry the door open, but her hand didn't stop going through. She found that if she continued to extend her hand, she could keep going through the hole. Before she knew it, Maia was out.
She looked around to try and establish her location. She appeared to be in some type of lab and had just apparently come out of some form of test chamber. There were two others similar to it in the room as well. A short distance off she saw what appeared to be a control panel and two men standing near it. The one seemed a little off to her as he appeared to be moving in slow motion.
Turning to the other, she asked the first questions that would come to anyone's mind in this situation; "What's going on? Where are we?"

I heard the alram calls overhead and quickly reported to the conference rooms to see what the problem was. As the officials came in distraught I knew something was terribly wrong. The officials chose only a few people to come with them into another room. I was one of them.
In this room they told us all about the poltergeists, but only what they wanted us to know. They told us that they had been volunteers and that the experiment went terribly wrong. So they contained the poltergeist while they looked for a solution, something to reverse what they had done. They said that the poltergeist had escaped and are incredibly powerful. That they have chosen us few to keep the secret and locate the poltergeist and also bring them back to the lab.
I believed this message like many others, and I went to my room and got some stuff. I put on my cloak and my backpack and set off.
