Jimmy Spencer mentioned something on Raceday last Sunday that I found very interesting. He said that Dale Jarrett isn't making races anymore, because his wallet is is to fat. And you know what, I have to agree with him. I realize that it all depends on manufacturers, teams, crew cheifs', etc., but give me a break, Dale needs to be beating some of these rookies that really don't know what the hell they're doing. When A.J. Allmendinger makes the race and Jarett doesn't, I know he's just not trying hard enough. I don't know how much longer his contract lasts, but I think Michael Waltrip Racing needs to pull the plug on Jarett, and maybe even the 44 team as soon as possible.

Sorry, I don't know if Jarett (Jarrett) has 1 or 2 "r"s.

No flipping way... MWI NEEDS D.J. seeing as he is the only one next year guaranteed a spot next year. Plus with ups the always get coverage with him.

I think not! DJ just has bad equipment. Give Toyota some time and those boys will be running top 20 next season.

And DJ is my favorite driver too so of course I would have to side with him mrgreen

EVERY TOYOTA TEAM IS STRUGGLING THIS YEAR!

It's not DJ, it's his car. Toyota is off to a slow start, and MWR is slow among the Toyotas. You have to be crazy to think that he's not trying as hard as he can to make races. The only two reasons DJ won't be back with MWR next year is
1. He leaves to drive a car he can compete in.
2. MWR is no more.

You do have a point, but let's look at the driver's in the Toyota teams.

Drivers like Mikey, DJ, and Jeremy Mayfield have not been competive in any car these past few years

AJ and David Ruetermann are rookies, so who knows if they can compete at this point yet.

And I admit, Dave Blaney and Brian Vickers have had very bad luck mechanically

If Hendrick switched to Toyota, they would probably be just as good as they are now, it would just take them some time to adjust.

MWR isn't going to dump DJ for one main reason that no one has brought up yet: Dale Jarret is the 1999 Cup Champion. That means past champion provisionals, something that MWR really needs.

No D.J. = no car in the race for MWI
