He had wandered away from Father's lands and from his siblings to do some thinking. Now that he was getting bigger, almost the size of Father even, he was starting to have ideas. The black monster needed to pay for what he'd done to him. He would not let an injury like he'd suffered go without revenge. Besides he owed his brother.
He sneered at the thought but even he wouldn't go back on his word. Now when it involved showing Father that his training had paid off more than he'd expected.
Shaking his hair from his face he scratched behind an ear with the point of one wing and grinned. Oh yes, ideas were forming in his mind and Father would not like any of them.

She was... Hurt. Alright, maybe not hurt... But she was upset. She had thought that, of all the Soquili out there, the hatter had been different. She had thought that, somehow, he would have understood.
No. He was just like all of the others. Her games were getting old and, soon enough, he'd want her gone. Well, she'd just go right ahead and leave before he asked her to. She didn't need to go back. She hadn't left anything behind... She could just start her wandering now and find another part of the forest to pass the night in.

The edges of his wings drug along a few soft trees before he bothered to pull them back. His weren't as easily damaged as Fathers or his siblings so he didn't worry too much about the softer bark. The bigger trees deeper in were a different story but this close to the edge of the forest things would mostly likely bend before he did.
He could smell others around but the traces seemed faint enough that they could be anywhere else by now. Too bad. He could use a bit of something soft to chew on.

Any other day she would have found herself caught offguard by the sudden silence in the forest. All of the sounds had faded away the closer she got to the plains where she usually found 'trouble' of some sort. It was something that she was at least partially used to; something that she had often used to make herself more alert... Now she was just being foolish and ignoring it. No one would bother her, afterall.

Tilting his head he caught another scent on the air, one fresh, and smirked. So there were still ones about, stupid ones at that. Tucking his wings back he waited until he could see the soft white of the mares hide though the trees.
Perfect. She was coming directly toward him and wasn't paying a bit of attention. That gave him the perfect opportunity to decide of she was worth eating or if he'd rather play with her first.

Her tail flickered behind her for a moment as her ears tilted to see what she could hear; nevermind what she couldn't. She held her head high, a slight smirk curving her lips. "Something's lurking out there, isn't it? Something that scares the birds and frightens the crickets... Come out, come out wherever you are..." Her strange singsong voice was slightly darker than it usually was, her mood shining through it.

"There is nothing lurking anywhere." He smirked as she spoke. "It is standing plainly in front of you if you would only open your eyes." Silly little girls. She was lucky that she hadn't walked closer or she'd have been in danger of loosing one of those soft looking little ears.

Her brow lofted slightly as she eyed the stallion before her. "No, no... Of course you wouldn't be lurking. It would be rather difficult for you to do so with a coat of that color... And such a lovely color it is." She smirked softly, golden eyes gleaming. "My eyes are open."

"Lurking is surprisingly easy even with a coat this color if only only applies themselves to the task." He had done so often if by only being slightly out of sight and up wind of things.
"If your eyes were open you would have seen me and not asked what was lurking about. I have been here long enough."

"My eyes were open but my attentions were elsewhere." She gave her head a light toss before a smirk curved her lips. "You've got my attention now Tall, Pale and Pointy."

"I do ...." A smirk curved his lips as he walked toward her. He wasn't worried if she bolted or not as there was plenty out there hiding from his fangs already. She would make a far better meal though.
"Not paying attention is known for getting one killed." It was well on the way to getting a nice chunk taken out of her if she wanted to play.

Her tail flickered behind her as she tilted her head slightly, unintentionally drawing attention to the soft curve of her pale neck. Her problem seemed to be that she wasn't afraid of this stallion; no more than she had been his mother... Such a pity she didn't know whose child he was... That might have made things a bit more interesting.
"Not paying attention is known for resulting in all sorts of things. What can I say?" She gave her head another toss, short mane fluttering in the soft breeze. "Going to hold that against me?"

As he walked closer he reached out with one wing. Setting it under her nose he lifted her head until it almost met his. "I am at that." His smirk widened enough for his teeth to glitter in the dappled light under the trees.
"At least until you learn otherwise." He tossed he head to the side with his wing and lunged for her neck. If she was smart enough she'd take the toss and move with it and get out of the way. If she wasn't well then he'd have a nice mouth full of soft hide and muscle.

She'd played enough dangerous games to know when to move quickly, springing back after jerking her head away from his wing. She didn't like to be touched by anyone... Let alone by strange stallions who seemed to think that they should be entitled to something because they weren't noticed right away.
She snorted, flashing him a golden glare before feigning indifference once more. "Now, now, sugar... I'm not that kind of mare." She smirked.

"Oh i think you are." Any mare was fair game for lunch if they were stupid enough to get caught. He tucked his wing back and idly advanced on her. "Or are you trying to save yourself for someone special? The stallion who's scent is all over you perhaps?"
It was the same scent he could smell around this place. Someone obviously lived hear regularly.
