Nostalgia was gone. She had come to say her goodbyes and then she had left. Her departure had left him with a bittersweet feeling. She and her children had changed the life that he had known since loosing his herd. They, along with Fortune and her brightness, had guided him towards a new path...
He stood, once more, at a fork in the road. His new 'herd', while still there in heart, spirit and mind, was no longer physically present. He could continue to 'haunt' these grounds... Or he too could move on. Not immediately, of course. No.. He had to remain here until he spoke with Memory and Trevalyn again if only to reassure them that he would never be far. He had told Nostalgia that he would watch after her children... And he had meant it.
Sighing softly he tilted his head to the sky. No moon... No stars... Dark clouds lingered in the night bringing the promise of rain again. Darkness... He could either run from it again or embrace it.

Wandering while not her favorite past time had become one of her more frequently done. It was easy to forget about things while she flitted across the sky and around trees. The creatures around her took little notice of the red and black shape.
She hadn't gone all that far from where she'd last left the small herd of 'darker' soquili and now she found herself fluttering back in that direction.
Her hooves touched the ground beside a patch of yellow flowers that she wanted a taste of. She hadn't eaten since that morning and the promise of a treat was enough to make her stop her meandering for a bit.
Her wings were glad for the rest as she leaned down to nibble at the plants.

He closed his eyes, murmuring a soft praper to the spirits that he knew were watching even if he could not see their stars in the sky. They would hear him and pass the message on... They would continue to guide him, as they always had.
He turned slowly, releasing a breath as he made his way towards the trail that would lead to the clearing in front of home. He should rest sometime tonight... If only to prepare himself for the morning to come. Morning... It wasn't all that far away, was it?

She nibbled on her fill of the yellow flowers before she decided that walking might be enjoyable for awhile. Her wings still ached from all the work and they could do with a bit of a rest.
Shaking her head she moved slowly though the grass. The sky was surprisingly dark for once and she welcomed it's ability to hide her from any nasties that might decide her petite form was appetizing.

He was glad that he knew the forested path well enough to not have to rely on his vision to guide him. Without the light of the moon or the stars it became harder to see; shadows and darkness playing tricks with one another. He had always known the darkness though and there was something... Almost welcoming about it. He was comfortable here as the night welcomed him home... Even if he was a bit harder to see save for his pale face.

A breeze picked up and ruffled her wings slightly. She laughed softly and shook herself out before continuing. At least that meant there was life out there somewhere in the darkness.
She had been gone for some time and wondered about perhaps running into Nostalgia again. She had liked the other mare and she had told her that she'd visit. If she wandered just right maybe she could accomplish that.

He tilted his head towards the movement of air, taking a deep breath as he did so. There was something dark on the wind; something familiar. His ears flickered slightly as the sound of soft laughter touched them. Someone else was about tonight... Someone he hadn't thought about durring his recent musings but perhaps he should have.

She trotted in a small circle and hummed softly to herself before picking a direction and starting that way. At least one of the herd had to be about and she was bound to run into one of them eventually. It would just take some patience and she had plenty of that.

He remained in one place, head tilted as the wind continued to dance around him. He listened to it rustle the branches, making leaves dance in a way that would have frightened Memory when she was younger. Wherever she was at the moment he hoped that she was safe and unafraid... She was a good, strong girl; her mother's daughter.
The scent was stronger this time which he took to mean the small mare was coming closer. A slight smile curved his lips as he called out into the darkness, "Hello out there..."

She stopped when she heard a voice and let the sound of it sink in for a moment. Draven. So she had been right and some of the herd were indeed wandering around that night.
"Calling out for other spooks hum?" She headed toward his voice hoping that it was in fact him and not someone who sounded like the stallion.

"Other spooks? No... Friends, perhaps... But not spooks." He chuckled softly, letting his voice carry so that she could follow the sound of it towards him. "The wind whispered to me and let me know that you were near... I decided to find out just how 'near' that was."

"Rather more near than expected." She ducked around a few bushes and found where the stallion was standing. "You weren't who i expected to find but it is a welcome surprise."
She smiled at him as she tucked her wings away from the swaying branches. No sense it leaving them up where something might damage them.

His brow lofted slightly as he turned his head towards the mare. "... Expecting a midnight meeting with someone else? I could easily move along if I'm keeping you from something." He nodded slowly, pale eyes closing for a moment.

"I was hoping to find Nostalgia. I told her i would come back by eventually..." She had an odd feeling that she was going to get news that she wasn't going to like.
"Do you ... know where she is?"

"Nostalgia..." He took a deep breath as he tilted his head towards the sky, searching for a glimmer of hope or a shimmer of star. "... Was needed elsewhere for the time being. I'm... Not entirely certain when she'll be back." If she would be coming back at all.
