He had listened to Rogue tell stories about her children as they walked, his grin broadening as they went along. Her family sounded delightful, if not a bit mischevious at times; a Good family. There needed to be far more Good in the world as far as he was concerned... At least he was finally meeting more of it.
"How much farther until we reach your home, Rogue?"

"Shouldn't be too much further. I can smell the lake." Somehow the slower water smelt different than that of the river. She knew the area well enough now that she could see the trails that the two leggers used to hunt so they were closer than she'd originally thought.
"Boys should be around unless Dodger wandered off again with his friend."

"It is a most beautiful area; a fine place to raise a family, I'm sure." He nodded slowly as he stepped up beside her so that he could walk alongside instead of behind.
He had returned to the lake finally having spent a bit of time by the river off by himself. He was pretty sure that his temper had at least calmed down a bit. It was a start, anyways. He was home and, hopefully, Mama'd be home soon so that he could let her know he was alive... For the moment.

"I think that's why i stuck around here." She liked the grass and the lake and everything seemed so peaceful around here. Her children and Atsila's had all loved running around the area when they were foals.
As she wandered back toward the clearing she noticed the bright green of one of her sons. "Wylie ... you're in one piece i see."

He gave his head a light toss before trotting up to his mother, brushing his muzzle against hers in welcome. "You say that as if you had some sort of doubt that I wouldn't be." He flashed her the roguish grin that he'd gotten from his father, letting it fade only as he saw the stallion with his mother. His brow lofted slightly as he nodded towards the other male. "... Who's your friend?"
He stumbled slightly, putting on his best smile as he bowed his head towards the mare's son. "Dreadfully sorry for catching you offguard. My name is Aziraphale." He then turned towards Rogue. "I can see the resemblance... I'm guessing the rest comes from his father?"

She nuzzled her son back and laughed. "Well with you? I'd expect you to come home at least a little banged up once in a while." She turned to look at Az for a moment before looking back at Wylie. "I'm afraid everything but the color of his hide came from his father."

"Only when I've run into Dodger while out." He snorted softly as he stood back for inspection, holding his head high. That grin curved his lips once more as he looked at his mother. "Aw, Ma... You say that as if it's a bad thing. At least you know what to expect if I take after Dah."
"A handful, I suppose?" He chuckled, keeping his own mood light. It wasn't every day that he got to spend time with a family.

"I would dearly hope that i what i suspect of your father you're not getting into." She butted against his shoulder and laughed. "Speaking of Dodger ... have you seen him lately?"
Wylie probably hadn't as the two seemed to part ways faster than anything she'd ever seen but it couldn't hurt to ask.

"No, Ma, I haven't." He'd actually tried to avoid running into his brother. Dodger was far too busy with his friends to pay any mind to family... Let alone his brother. "I wouldn't worry 'bout him... Not like he ever does anything interesting anyways."

She shook her head and managed not to sigh. They'd get over it eventually so long as she kept telling herself that. "He does plenty of interesting things i'm sure."
Some of the stories he told about Tony were amusing at least.

"I'm sure he doesn't... But you shouldn't worry yourself thinkin' 'bout him, Mah." He leaned in, nosing his mother gently once more. He knew that it upset her that he and Dodger didn't get along. It wasn't something he could help. He'd tried.
He listened to the interaction between the two, unable to keep his brow from furrowing slightly at the tension in the air.

"I'm your mother. You know i'm going to hate it when you to fight." She nuzzled him back and rested her head on his shoulder. "Should get you Dad to give him a swift kick in the rump next time he starts something."
Dodger was generally the instugator even if he didn't mean it. He had just never learned to watch his tongue around his brother.

"You know Dah doesn't like gettin' into the middle o' things." His nose scrunched slightly. His father had tried once or twice to intervene but the last time he'd gotten kicked accidentally had been the last time he'd stepped in. He'd just taken to avoiding Dodger since then... Not wanting any more trouble.
"Boys will be boys." He shook his head slowly, saddened slightly by the reminder of the brothers that he knew from back home that were always in a disagreement of sorts.

"Then maybe i'll have to kick both of you next time you start up." She laughed and nudged him back. "You can't avoid him forever you know. Eventually you have to tell him he's rude loud enough he understands"
She looked at her friend and nodded. "ALways"

"Ah'm sure Ah can, Mama. It's a big world out there and I've got a knack for only comin' home when he's off somewhere else. S'worked so far, hasn't it?" His brow lofted slightly and he tried to smile despite the slight trace of sadness in his voice. He and Dodger weren't ever going to get along... It was as simple as that. Why would Dodger need a brother that he didn't like when he had friends that he did like anyways?
"Now, now... I know from experience that avoiding problems doesn't work as well as you would like it to. I tend to avoid a 'problem' of my own... And he still shows up for one reason or another. We are lead to the people in our lives for a reason, Wylie."
