Rindou yawned sleepily as he tread through the candy floss plains. It was a scorching summer day, and he wanted to make his way to some shade as soon as possible. In the distance, he saw a silhouette fluttering in the breeze. 'A tree!' he thought and started to race towards it. True enough, Rindou found himself under the cover of a large lollypop tree. Stretching out on the ground, he shut one of his eyes and tried to drift off to sleep.

Thal was at the very very top of the tree that the male Numa was trying to fall asleep under. Why did it seem like every time she got anywhere near a tree that was when she’d meet someone? Blinking her large sea green eyes with a mix of curiosity and maybe fear, she silently fluttered downwards. Some Numas were so sure in their wing movements, but Thal always gave herself away. Tiny movement that looked more like what a hummingbird might make kept her aloft. Sometimes she wondered how it worked. Focusing, she spoke very softly, “Are.. You.. Asleep?”

"GAAAAAH!! IT WAS POSEY, NOT MEEEE!!!" Rindou screamed as he jumped up and started flailing away from an unknown aggressor. "I swear, Raein! It was Po-" He finally noticed a floating blue numa girl who was most deductably the one who roused him from his...nightmare? "Oh...um..." Rindou pushed back the hair out of his eyes and blushed sheepishly. "Yeah..." He coughed. "Hrm. Hiya, I'm Rindou, whats your name?" {^_^;;;} "And. Um...I guess I'm not asleep?" He chuckled nervously. If Posey was here, and so thankfully she wasn't, she'd probably be screaming into his ear with a megaphone of what an a** he just made of himself. Rindou grimaced at the thought of it.

Thalassa’s ears pinned back so fast she didn’t even realize that they had done so. Most people didn’t start screaming when she whisper-spoke to them. Oh.. Oh he had been asleep and she had woken him from what seemed to have been an awful dream. Without thinking she flit up to the top of the tree and picked a bright lollipop that matched him, striped with apple green and sour apple. Male Numas could fly, just not as high and the really good lollipops never seemed to want to be down low. She lowered back down quickly and shyly held it out to him, not getting too close, “I.. I’m Thalassa.” Her voice was soft and breathy… Just loud enough to be heard. “If.. If you were asleep you couldn’t have candy.”

Now Rindou got his first good look of her. She was a periwinkle color with powder blue swirls and white hair. Her eyes were a vivid aquamarine and shining brightly. When she spoke, the first thing that she reminded him of was Bliss, another Numa. She too was quite soft-spoken.
When she came back down from the tree, the Numa girl offered him a delicious looking lollypop and her name. "Thalassa...huh? Thats a very pretty name." Rindou smiled broadly. "Well, Thalassa, its quite an honor to meet you!" He took her empty paw and kissed it. Raein said that good manners were very good and important, although she didn't have any, Rindou could agree that it was very well to be courteous.
"Wait one moment!" he said quickly and tried to climb up the tree. With the added effort of his little wings persistently flapping, Rindou managed to go halfway up the tree until he too found a light blue lollypop. Dropping down, he exchanged the lollypops and smiled again.

She took the same amount of time that he was using to look at her to study him. He was several different shades of a rich green and some lime green markings that matched rather prettily (or was it handsome for boys?) on his tail. She’d not met any boy Numas, except her father.
“Rindou is a strong name as well.” The more comfortable she became, the louder Thalassa became. Not so much loud, as it wasn’t impossible to hear her speaking. Most didn’t take kindly to straining themselves to hear what another had to say. The kisss on her paw made the pale cheeks flush again and Thal wasn’t sure if she thanked someone for a kiss or simply smiled. Smiling was easier, so that’s what she did.
Her eyes followed him up the tree, watching as he made his way up. It didn’t seem to be too too hard to go up with the wings helping. Hm, maybe they did get the ones at the tops of trees too? She smiled in simply pleasure and licked at the lollipop, “What flavor is pale blue?” Another lick had her musing…

Rindou really like Thalassa. He was so grateful of her for not making fun of his nightmare or outburst. He was fairly sure if it was anyone else, he'd be high-tailing it out of there with his tail between his legs.
"Thank you, Thalassa." Rindou thought that Thalassa sounded much better when she spoke louder, he was sure of it. When she smiled, Rindou grinned as well. He had made a new friend, and was pretty sure she wasn't some air-headed or worse, a frightening Numa.
Licking his lollypop as well, he exclaimed happily, "Apple! Sour too!" {>w<} "Pale blue, huh? I dunno...lick it and tell me!" Rindou smiled happily and really did wonder what a pale blue lollypop would taste like. Normally blue would be blueberry, but what of pale blue?

Thal managed another small smile before her eyes began to focus on the large lollipop in her paw. Wow, she usually ate candy almost all the time, but mostly gummy stuff. Lollipop’s were more of a treat!
It seemed that she might have made a friend. Rindou moved a whole lot, but nothing that had startled her enough to take off in flight for good. Her wings movements had become more smooth and a bit longer. “You are welcome, Rindou” Hey.. Talking wasn’t so bad!
A very soft giggle escaped and Thal put a paw in front of her mouth. Laughing at someone certainly wasn’t something nice to do, but the face he had made with the sour was enough to make her laugh. Eyeing the lollipop, Thal took a long and measured lick to test the flavor. “It tastes like.. Cotton candy! But a blue raspberry type!”

Rindou smiled when she spoke. She had a nice voice, a bit soft but still controlled. He wondered if Thalassa could sing. Even if she couldn't he was 100% positive that even a Coffee Numa would be a better singer than Raein...
When Thalassa giggled at his face, Rindou blushed a little, but wasn't embarrassed. He knew she was laughing because it was funny, not be be mean or snarky. He took another tentative lick and his face screwed up again. "Oooh..." {>c<} he shuddered. Even though it made his face pucker up unseemly like, Rindou still loved sour tasting things, especially apple.
"Blue raspberry cotton candy, eh? That must be good!" Grinning again, it finally occured to Rindou to wonder what she was doing up in that tree. So he asked, "Hey, Thalassa, if you don't mind, may I ask what you were doing alone up in that tree?"

Thal couldn’t help but smile back even if it was a bit faint because the Numa was smiling at her. Simply because it was rude to glare or just not smile when someone else is smiling right at you. She wondered what to say now.
Oh dear, maybe all of the lollipops that were at the very top of the tree were the ones that had the sour taste to them? No, she had gone quite a few others from there and they had all been pretty good even the sour ones. She smiled softly and licked at her own lollipop, liking the fact that it didn’t have anything in it to make her face mess up at all.
In between licks, Thalassa nodded, “Yeah, it’s really sweet.” Her brain would probably be on a several hour buzz just dealing with all the sweetness in the candy. “I don’t know.. I just spend time to myself quite a bit. Guess I’m not very good at being outgoing.”

"Time alone is always good for the mind, so I've heard," Rindou chuckled. "But still, you shouldn't stay alone for too long. Thought nowadays, I understand. Good company is hard to come by..." {>_>;;} Rindou immediately thought of his motley crew back at home. They really weren't the cream of the crop, but still, they were family. As much as he dreaded it, they were closer to him than his biological family.
"Got any family to hang around with? They're usually a fun bunch!" Rindou said quite enthusiastically, since for most families that was true.

So he had heard? Thalassa couldn’t imagine what it would be like to have people around her so much that being a lone was something only to have heard of. To her, it wasn’t just a luxury but something that she expected to keep her sanity. Perhaps it came from such a long while spent just off on her own growing up and not being social. Of course.. That made it a bit awkward now… buuut. She focused back on her new friend and smiled a bit.
“Well.. I spent some time with my brother, Terale not long ago.” They hadn’t realized they were related until having been together for awhile.. Buuut. She laughed quietly and smiled, her family loved her.. They were all probably just busy.

"You have a brother too? Thats cool!" Rindou said. Up till now, Rindou was the only male in the house. And that wasn't too good. But recently, another male named Roiben came and now he had a brother! "Is your brother nice to you?" Rindou asked, but wondered why anyone would want to be mean to Thalassa.

A soft giggle escaped Thal and she thought of her brother, “Yes, Terale is a ball of fluff and incredibly sweet.” Singing the praises of her family was much easier than talking about herself, “He’s so fearless and not afraid to talk to anybody!” .. She on the other hand. “Nice to me? But of course!” Thal thought she was being just a bit too loud and blushed…
