Post your favorite verses from the bible. Don't make it too long, please ^^.
Sirach 2:1-6
"My son, when you come to serve the LORD, prepare yourself for trials.
Be sincere of heart and steadfast, undisturbed in time of adversity.
Cling to him, forsake him not; thus will your future be great.
Accept whatever befalls you, in crushing misfortune be patient;
For in fire gold is tested, and worthy men in the crucible of humiliation.
Trust God and he will help you; make straight your ways and hope in him."

Also in my sig...
Proverbs 12:1
Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, But he who hates reproof is stupid.

Sirach is apocryphal. Since I was raised Catholic, it happens to be in my bible.

Luke 12:23
For life is more than food, and your body more than clothing.
Actually, I love Luke 12:22-34, but that's too long to post here.

I like the chapter of love, 1 Corinthians 13. I also like Romans 10:14 "How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?"

This was one of the theme verses for our Junior ministry worship this year ^^
Jeremiah 29:11
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
This is a favorite among my friends: (It's kinda long so I'll put the first part)
Romans 12:2
Do not conform any longer to the patern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

1. The Divine Shepard; Psalms 23.4 "Lo, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I shall fear no evil, for He is with me.
2. Thanksgiving for Deliverence and Prayer for Help; Psalm 40.1-3 (I love the song by U2 also. wink ) "I waited patiently for the Lord; he inclined and heard my cry. He drew me up from the desolate pit, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the Lord."
I have more, but I can't put them all down. Not enought room. sweatdrop

Ezekiel 3:16-21
And at the end of seven days, the word of the LORD came to me: "Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; whenever you hear a word from my mouth, you shall give them warning from me. If I say to the wicked, 'You shall surely die,' and you give him no warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, in order to save his life, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at your hand. But if you warn the wicked, and he does not turn from his wickedness, or from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you will have saved your life. Again, if a righteous man turns from his righteousness and commits iniquity, and I lay a stumbling block before him, he shall die; because you have not warned him, he shall die for his sin, and his righteous deeds which he has done shall not be remembered; but his blood I will require at your hand. Nevertheless if you warn the righteous man not to sin, and he does not sin, he shall surely live, because he took warning; and you will have saved your life."

Hm, I really like Romans 8:38-39: "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

My favorite verse is:
"For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace." (Romans 8:1-14 AV)
Words cannot describe how true that quote is. One of the major problems in today's society is carnal/bodily appearance, rather it be racism, sexism, child molesters, etc.
Focusing on the fruits of the spirit (mentioned in Galatians 5:16-18 ), and the spiritual/non-physical things of people (if you have indeed had experience with these things) would make you spiritually minded.
Unfortunately, the flesh dominates most people. The mind comes under control of the flesh and all thoughts turn to satisfaction of those instincts.
