Lucretia appeared about as happy as one could look coming out of a grocery store. She hugged an oblong plastic bag covered over with frosty condensation to her chest, grinning eagerly as she drifted along down the street beside her father. The bag was opened at the top, and little curls of white fog drifted out of it and into the air.

"Thank you," the Raevan breathed to her father before looking down at the little white chips of dry ice in the bag. "Hurry home, it's melting."

"Don't worry," Kumoru assured her, glancing back briefly to check on her. He was still a bit surprised by how excited she had gotten over the dry ice. So far, the Raevan had come across as apathetic at best; while the change was certainly a welcome one, it was still unexpected enough that the mage found himself a bit concerned. It was never a good thing when magic did something unexpected.

At least it made sense, though. Lucretia had "eaten" nothing but ice cubes since her arrival, but did not appear to be going hungry from it. Not that Kumoru was at all sure where all the ice went once she inhaled down the chilly fog it made. Maybe the colder something was, the more she enjoyed it?

At least shopping for her was easy.

"Don't let your brothers or your sister touch that when we get it home, though, Lucretia. It's too cold for any of us to touch."

"No, it's mine!" Lucretia insisted, her tone a bit savage as she clutched the bag tighter.

Rivener paused on the street, causing Aphi to stop and turn. The Scorpion's gaze was levelled across the way, and a dark frown was melting his features into that evil snarl he had when he contemplated using his stingers on people he didn't like. Aphi followed the Frei's line of sight, and was startled to see a Raevan he'd never met before! Ah, and wasn't that the strange man who'd ordered pizza that one time?

"R-Rivener, what's the matter?" Aphi asked, unsure why his ward would be so angered at these people.

"More girls."

The single statement puzzled Aphi. He tilted his head. "I'm sorry, what? What do you mean?"

Riv growled and floated across the street, hardly watching for traffic. Aphismet exclaimed, and struggled to catch up. As Riv approached the other two, he spoke out loud. "Hey! You! Who are you?" He pointed at the female, completely ignoring her keeper.

Kumoru turned around as he heard a voice shout from behind him. He immediately recognized the Raevan from the pizza shop so many weeks before, and crossed his arms as he realized that the other Raevan was yelling at Lucretia.

He figured he could at least see how she would react to another of her kind before he stepped in. Hopefully things would not turn ugly; it sounded like the male Raevan was trying to start something.

Lucretia turned as well, fixing her stare on the only other one she had seen so far who was like her - missing from the breastbone or so down. Tucking her bag of ice under one arm, she reached up to brush some of her hair back behind her ear with her free hand as she replied, "I'm Lucretia."

Something about this guy troubled her a little; Lucretia unconsciously adopted a somewhat defensive stance, and edged to the side in order to get more between Kumoru and the rude newcomer. However things went down, she had to keep the other Raevan away from Daddy.

Rivener bristled, his wings giving a reflexive twitch. He frowned, lips drawn tight. "And you're a girl," he hissed. "Why does Doctor Kyou keep making girls?" Looking the girl over, Riv could easily see that she was made of coldstuff. She looked as icy as Roux, but not in as thorough a way. He suddenly wondered if Roux would like this girl better than him, just because they were made of the same stuff. After all, Rivener, who completely hates women, DOES like Vyn simply because they are of a kind...

"You stay away from Roux!" he yelled, pointing a finger.

Aphismet finally caught up to his Raevan, and he grabbed the spiky bracer, pulling the arm down. "Rivener! What the hell are you doing?!" He turned an apologetic smile to Asahi and Lucretia. "I-I'm terribly sorry! I don't know what came over him..."

"Lemme go, you!" Riv struggled, freeing himself easily from Aphi's grasp. He crossed his arms angrily and floated in place, looking like he was waiting for something. Even he didn't know for what, exactly.

Aphismet frowned over at Riv before turning back to Asahi and his charge. "Err, I-I'm terribly sorry. C-congratulations on your Raevan's birth! She's very pretty-"

Rivener scoffed.

"-V-very pretty. Uhm, what did you say your name was, young lady?" Aphi asked, trying to smooth over any feelings the girl might have had wounded by Rivener's rudeness.

Lucretia's features returned to a more relaxed expression of apathy touched with a bit of annoyance as the other Raevan cut loose yelling at her. As long as he was not going to bother her father. She knew no one by the name Roux, and so Lucretia immediately dismissed the strange Raevan's anger as not her problem.

"Don't know him," she calmly informed her verbal assailant, uncrossing her arms and letting them hang at her sides, holding the bag of dry ice in one hand. "Don't know you, either." Lucretia was not at all sure what to make of him, but none of the possibilities she was considering at the moment were too terribly flattering.

The necromancer stepped forward, uncrossing his arms. If his memory served him correctly, Aphismet did not exactly have the greatest control over his Raeven, which caused him a bit of worry, but he did not let it show. He addressed Aph's comments with a small diplomatic smile:

"Thank you. Lucretia, thank him for the compliment, and go ahead and introduce yourself again."

No reason to be rude just because the other Raevan was acting out of line. Kumoru was thankful that Lucretia seemed, in general, fairly subdued and more than amenable to his suggestions and commands.

Glancing briefly at her father, Lucretia nodded before turning her attention back to the other pair before her.

"Thank you," she said, her tone still somewhat flat. "My name is Lucretia."

Hopefully someday she would better understand the need for all the please and thank-you; the Raevan did not quite understand, but still, she did not mind the idea of it.

Aphismet smiled sheepishly at the other two and nodded. "Lucretia. Pleased to meet you, Lucretia. I'm Aphismet, and this is Rivener."

"Don't tell her my name!" Rivener protested, looking outraged at his guardian.

Aphismet glared at Riv momentarily. "Don't be childish," he chided before turning back to the other two. "I hope you won't think too unkindly of us. Rivener's just... moody." Aph began to back up, an arm reaching behind him to corral Riv in case the Frei felt like attacking.

Rivener frowned and harrumphed, looking away. He hadn't attacked anyone in a while, he didn't want to upset Aphi. It was hard to keep control today for some reason. He could feel his stingers shivering with anticipation. "I'm going home," he muttered, turning and floating away, assuming Aphi would follow.

"Ah! Er, S-sorry again," he bowed deeply to Lucretia and Asahi, turning to follow his Raevan.

"Quite alright," Kumoru told Aph, nodding a little in response to his bow. He was about to turn to leave as well, content to leave their meeting at that.

Lucretia, however, was not finished with the exchange. "Wait," she called firmly but not loudly. Without waiting for either of them to turn around or even glance back, she said, "Tell me who Roux is." It was a command, not a question.

Aphismet walked quickly after Riv, and was startled when the red and black Raevan stopped and turned again, glaring hotly.

"It's none of your business who Roux is. So go to hell." He turned back and floated away. He wasn't about to help that girl get her frosty claws onto HIS Roux. Let her find out who he is on her OWN. Then maybe Roux won't like her and maybe even he'll hurt her.

Aphismet was getting tired of Rivener's rudeness, but there wasn't much he thought he could do about it, apart from getting the Scorpion away from the source of the irritation. "C'mon, don't get upset. Let's just go home," he advised quietly.
