Things have been awfully quiet in the herd... perhaps a little too quite. Even Dancer seemed somewhat quite and distant these days. The only one giving him any real rays of sunshine, being his daughter that looked like her mother, Seren. She was proving to be quite an intelligent and lovely young doe.
Still, Dasher was antsy and he often fidgeted and pawed at the ground when doing his outrider duties. Standing upon the crest of a low hill, he sighed and chewed on a clump of grass in what could be interpreted as boredom. This place was so dull.

Prancer, she flicked her head back and forth while staring at her reflection in the lake. 'These are some nice antlers.' she thought to herself with a smile and flick of her short tail. Pawing the ground she shook her head again and chuckled quietly to herself.
Being one of the outriders of the herd meant that she kept pretty much to herself, this also meant having to entertain herself. She'd found that striking up conversations with rabbits and the occasional bird did much to save her sanity. 'Even if the rabbits are often too hyperactive to follow a conversation properly' she thought with some amusement.
Smiling at her reflection she turns around and flicks her tail up in shock. A reindeer. While she was generally aware of the rest of her herd, they respected her need for mostly solitude and she respected theirs. Which often seemed odd since she was supposed to be a 'herd' animal. Apparently her wandering outrider ways were about to be enroached upon. With a prosaic smile she lived true to her name, prancing lightly towards to comer with a cheerful call.

Deciding tha the could do with some water to wash down some of the grass he'd been chewing on, Dasher started his way in that direction.. only to notice a rarely seen cow of the herd. He paused and blinked, before deciding to intercept Prancer. Her call causing his ears to turn forward curiously.
"Hey Prancer! Long time no see!" he called back in a cheerful fashion, his mood already starting to lift with the prospect of some female company. She was lovely, as many of the cows were, including his Dancer. If only they socialized more. He'd had his heart broken once though when Blitzen practicly laughed in his face last Anlach.

"Howdy Dasher! Whatcha doing out in my neck of the woods?" Prancer asks curiously, extending her nose in greeting as she trotted closer. While she didn't mind company she was always unfailingly polite when approached by other members of her herd.
Stopping lightly in front of him she examined him from hoof to antler tip, tilting her head to the side slightly,"Certainly has been a while hasn't it?" she asks, attempting to think back to when the last she'd actually managed to see... let alone talk with other members of her herd.

"Yeah... its been awhile" he said with a dashing grin, "Where have you been?" He kinda wondered... weren't they supposed to be a herd after all? That meant sticking together, or atleast so he thought. He wasn't the leader of any herd.. infact... they never did decide on one. But everyone seemed to be doing their own thing anyway. Oh well.
He shrugged, "I was just wandering.. being bored. Its been downright dull around here lately."
