I really hate CSI:Miami because it's like a cheap rip-off of the original CSI. I hate Horatio Caine because either the guy is a horrible actor, or the character is a friggin douche!!! He sustains this overly smug attitude that doesn't seem to fit his character...

There are one or two good episodes of CSI Miami but then I do prefer NY and Vegas much more than Miami.
So I have to side with the flamers on this one!

CSI Miami is the shoot em up version....i dont really like david caruso as caine, but he was in a few movies pre-nypd blue that were really really good. the cases in miami just arent as deep, and the series is more about caine's making promises and breaking a dozen laws to keep the promise and yeah whatever lol

I wouldn't go so far as to say that I HATE it, but I dislike it greatly.
The cases all seem to repeats of episodes i'd seen on CSI before. Harioto Caine doesn't add much to the show but to take his sunglasses off and crouch to the ground. Calleigh is this smug lady who always seem to think she is the greatest thing since sliced bread. The cases aren't as deep as the ones from the original or even New York which i've taken a great liking to.
The thing that annoys me the most is the comparison between Wolfe and Greggo( heart ) THEY LOOK NOTHING ALIKE EXCEPT MAYBE IF YOU SQUINT YOUR EYES AND STAND ON YOUR HEAD FOR AN HOUR!

Basically they tried to make CSI shows about different focus points; NY is the really technical one, and Miami just happens to be the overly-dramatic one, and of course, Vegas is the amazing original.
It doesn't really matter if it's a rip-off or not, because the same people who made Vegas made Miami. It was their choice to try to make more money make a spin-off.
As for the show, personally, I kinda liked a few episodes of it. Like that video game one, it was alright. And as for Horatio, he's great to poke fun at. With his glasses of justice and all that. xd

CSI:Miami could be worse. But, I happen to like it. I have noticed that it is less lab work, and more bloody gore than Las Vegas, but then again, they don't have the heavy drug problem like Miami.
And, I figure that as long as David Caruso agrees to do the part of Horatio (which he will never give that up, because he gave up NYPD Blue, thinking that he was all that, and he career went NOWHERE), we will always see the slow turn of the head, and the sun glasses will never disappear.
I also find it amusing that Tim Speedle's character will be back for a few episodes. I guess he forgot to talk to David before he left the show.

I liked it abit at first (despite Caine being really cheesy and the whole show being too bright and sunny - it is miami) but I find that, every since he got married to what's-her-name, what's-his-name's sister, only to have her get shot mere hours later, the show has become more like a soap than a forensic.
Love NY though.
