What do you think should/shouldn't count as sales? Are they currently being counted as such? Do you consider any of them cheating in a sense?

Discuss.

EDIT: I'll give you some discussion ideas. (Used Consoles, Replacements, Reissues, shipments, etc)

I think that whenever a clerk holds a gun to a customers head and yells "BUY THE ******** PS3!", I think that should count as a sale.

NOT units shipped. If someone is really keeping accurate track, IDEALLY a third party would keep track of console sales through retailers.

Now if only we lived in an ideal world...Although, places like Gamestop and Best Buy should probably report what consoles they sell. It makes sense, and would save a lot of trouble. I'm just not sure if either does...

Used Sales.

They have already been bought, returned, marked down, and if the Company's make money of Used sales, their loosing more money, it's just complicated....

Of Course, I was right, I'm ******** out of my mind....

I agree to some extent. Keeping used sales in mind are useful, as a console that is still popular still gains attention, but for the highest levels (Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft), only NEW sales should be counted.

are consols given away as awards in a contest counted? Like when mountain dew was giving away a 360 once every something minutes?
If so, they shouldn't be.
Also, again don't know if they do already, don't count the replacement 360 Microsoft sends you if your 360 contracts RRoD.
