Family :Mother: Lilias De Marchand: An author of Wizarding lineologies, she is very intent on the idea of purity. However, thanks to some recent rises in powerful Witches and Wizards who are not 'Pure Blood', such as the famous Harry Potter or his friend Hermione, she's found herself adding some not so pure lines to her books, because she was loosing buyers.
Father: Averius De Marchand: Wealthy enough not to worry about working, he is, oddly, an avid gardener. He doesn't care about purity, much, he lets his wife worry about that. He loves his garden. He loves collecting rare plants, magical and not, of an ornamental nature, and trying to get them to grow.
Brother: Older brother Darius is a Slytherin. He's somewhat of a purity snob, but mostly past it. She's rather fond of him.
A Bit About Him/Her : Orchidia wants to be a well known, clever witch. Her fondness for potions and charms is, in her mind, the way to go. She wants to become famous for inventing wonderful new potions and spells. She is intent on being good at this. She is also, however, just a bit mischievous and doesn't mind playing the occasional joke on people.
However, anyone messes with her big brother, and they'd best watch out, cause they'll be the focus of her jokes for months. She's looking to make lots of friends, and she figures if she does.. Jokes will be even easier to pull.
She hopes to be able to play Quidditch later on, after first year. The game exhilarates her to no end.
A Moment By Himself/Herself :Orchidia stared out the window at the Quidditch field, watching the Ravenclaw team practice, pouting a bit. WHY were first years not allowed to play? Wasn't fair at all. Everyone knew Harry Potter had played in his first year. Why couldn't they? She was sure she'd be just as good, given a chance! Of course, she wasn't sure if she wanted to be Seeker, but that's not the point! The point was to play.
She shoves away from the window, with a sigh, and picks up her wand, giving it a gentle swish. She concentrated, practicing one of the charms from this week's class as she stood there, trying to distract herself from Quidditch. She sighed, focusing, trying to perfect the Color Change Charm. It took her a good half hour of work, but finally her page of notes on it were flashing in different, bright colors.
"AH!" She said, satisfied, and puts everything away. She then turns to stare out the window, but the team was done. She made a slight moue of disappointment, but was also relieved that she wouldn't have to watch more, and skips outside, looking for her friends.
