Bah, today was so boring. She had patrolled the Prideland borders but hadn't found a single male to harass. The last one she'd seen was that grumpy Tiny and his strangely respectful father. It just wasn't a good day unless she got to prod at someone's ego. Besides that, she hadn't seen a single bird all day! How was she supposed to stalk her constant prey if she couldn't even find them?
No doubt they were all hiding because of the heat, she thought dryly as she lounged beneath a withering tree. At least she'd stored up some food yesterday when she'd found the remains of a zebra carcass. Hopefully nobody had got their paws on it, otherwise she'd be forced to try and hunt in this heat. That would not be good.
Sighing, the young lioness rolled onto her back, brown eyes staring up blankly at the sky. Why did she always have to find entertainment? Couldn't just once something come to her?

For once, something was coming to her.
It wasn't a male but the young lioness might find some amusement in the approaching cheetah.
Tahnia had been traipsing about the Prideland borders most of the evening in search of someone to speak to. She wasn't starving but she wasn't exactly full either at the moment, simply somewhere in-between. Still, the scent of zebra carcass was thouroughly enticing, and once she'd caught it she'd made a bee-line for the brownish-red lioness where it was wafting from.

Ears perked as Nsundu lifted her head, suddenly aware of Tahnia. The approaching cat was like nothing the young lioness had ever seen. At first, she had thought Tahnia to just be a young, very skinny lioness. As she got closer, however, it became obvious that she was no lioness. Her tail and face were the wrong shape, and she was much too slim to be a lioness. She didn't even know if it was a male or female. Huh. Well, it didn't look like anything Nsundu had seen, but it also didn't look aggressive. Maybe it was just coming over for company.
"Morning," the young lioness called out, hoping the other feline would respond so she could get a gender. "If you don't mind me askin', what are you?" Nsundu was blunt as ever, but she couldn't help it. This strange blue spotted feline made her curious.

Tahnia smiled. She'd asked that question herself, once. Thankfully, a kindly cheetah had introduced her to her species. As she approached the young lioness, she replied (in a decidedly feminine voice): "I'm a cheetah. I take it you've never seen one?"
She seated herself beside Nsundu, a foot or two distance between them, and allowed the lioness to observe her further. "My name's Tahnia. Mind if I join you?" She glanced furtively at the dead zebra and smiled sheepishly. "For a conversation, I mean, but I wouldn't mind having a bit of that once you're finished with it."
