Table of Contents Disclaimer, Rules, Plot Overview Character Rules, Profile Skeleton, Accepted Characters, NPCs Corporate Giants, Karma FAQs, Guardians vs. Haunters Reserved DISCLAIMER I apologize in advance for any religious references or comments that may offend some users. I assure you that any religious terminology used is not intended to reflect my views on anyone's religious beliefs, nor is it intended to impose a certain set of beliefs on anyone. Rules + No powerplaying. + No one-line posts. + Do not use astericks (*) to show actions. Type out your sentences. + Minimal chatspeak is fine in OoC, but please, don't use it in-character. + Use some form of OoC + Try to use the best spelling and grammar possible. --> Mistakes are fine, but dnt typ lyk dis, okay? + As far as language, romance, violence, etc., etc.... --> LANGUAGE: I don't mind cursing, but don't make every other word in your post a swear-word. --> ROMANCE: Keep it non-mushy, keep it non-cheesy, and keep it PG-13. Remember, the ToS is your friend! --> VIOLENCE: There is a war going on, so some violence is to be expected. I don't want half this to be taken up by battles, though. + Write your post in paragraphs. --> Write it like you would a short story or a novel.Plot&&Setting Satan and Jesus have been going at it for a while, and finally, their petty differences have reached the breaking point. Each has bitterly looked the other in the eye and has metaphorically (or, in Satan's case, literally) said, "Screw you, b***h, you're going down." So, naturally, all Hell (or Heaven, whichever way you'd care to see it) broke loose. Quite literally, I'm afraid.
In the chaos of the war raging in Limbo (both sides agreeing that the battle shouldn't take place on either's turf--it would get far too messy), the Magdalene (Jesus' wife, affectionately known as Mary) was taken hostage. In retaliation, some of the higher-up Angels managed to take Lilith (Satan's mistress) hostage, as well, on the terms that she will be returned to her place at his side upon the return of the Magdalene. In blind fury, Satan has ordered that Lilith be retrieved at all costs, only agreeing to return the Magdalene if his mistress is returned unarmed. Thus, both sides have come to a stalemate on the hostage front.
Underneath (and above) the chaos of the battlefield, corporate giants and mom-and-pop businesses are struggling to stay open. Among the corporations that have managed to stay afloat in the sea of turmoil are Fifth Dimension, Incorporated (FDI), Karma>Dogma (KGD), Spiritual Security Systems (SSS), and the Interdimensional Bank of Spirits (IBS). Mom-and-pop businesses are few and far between, slowly dying out, but a few still retain their pride.
This roleplay focuses on action away from the battle-field, on the daily lives of Demons and Angels alike. Despite the war raging on their doorsteps, the more popular restaurants and bars in Limbo have kept their doors open, the owners not planning on turning down business, be it from Angels or Demons. Some of the most beautiful places of the Fifth Dimension are found in Limbo, and many from both sides are willing to "risk life and limb" to lurk at their favourite haunts.
The newspapers and magazines of the Fifth Dimension are notorious for overexaggerating the war--a lull in the action is currently in effect, both Satan and the Holy army hesitant to attack, fearing that Lilith or the Magdalene might be harmed.

Jesus. Not to offend any devout Christians, insult God, or to inflict the Christian religion upon others, but He's the Son of God. Daddy's little Boy. And He's pissed at Satan--big time, especially since Satan kidnapped the Magdalene. He does not speak with thees and thous and O Come, All Ye Faithfuls, but doesn't speak in gangsta-esque slang, either. Speaks formally, and in proper English. Appears to be somewhere between mid-twenties and mid-thirties.
Satan. The big guy down below is just as pissed as He is, and wants his mistress, Lilith, out of Heaven and back in his bed. Leads Hell's army in battle. Has a casual way of speaking, but speaks formally when trying to impress. Very beautiful in a dark and sinister way.
Beelzebub. Hell's second-in-command, Beelzebub (or Bub, as only Satan would dare call him) stays more on the business and finance side of the war rather than the battlefront. Organizes special operations such as Operation Obsidian Retrieval, the rescue operation for Lilith. A smooth talker, he can be very persuasive when need be.
The Magdalene. Mary. The wife of Jesus, the Magdalene has been kidnapped by Satan and is being held as a prisoner. Very soft-spoken and beautiful.
Mistress of Darkness. Lilith. Mistress of Satan, she has been kidnapped and is being held as ransom for the return of the Magdalene. Just as beautiful as the Magdalene, but much more outspoken, used to having things go exactly as she wants them to.
Peter. Guardian of the Gates of Heaven, serves as the head of Heaven's army.

Corporate Giants Fifth Dimension, Inc (FDI) Location: Hell A company that specializes in Hauntings. The employees are the mirror opposites of the guardian angels at SSS.
Karma>Dogma (KGD) Location: Heaven and Hell [Karma Is Greater Than Dogma] Yes, it's spelled with the > symbol. This is the company that's in charge of your karma. If you do good deeds, good things happen to you, courtesy of the part of the company located in Heaven; and if you do naughty things, bad things happen, courtesy of the company's branch in Hell.
Spiritual Security Systems (SSS) Location: Heaven This is where the guardian angels work, protecting your spirit from the forces of Hell.
Interdimensional Bank of Spirits (IBS) Location: Heaven, Limbo, and Hell The official bank of the spirit world, all spirits, Angel and Demon alike, do their banking here. **Note: there is no cash money in the spirit world; everything is electronic.**A Few Words on Karma.... + Karma is NOT magic. --> A demon or angel who works in the karma industry works similar to a guardian angel or haunter, but for a shorter space of time, until the human in question has been given as much karma as he or she deserves. + Karma workers are NOT assigned to the same human for long stretches of time, usually working with the same person for no longer than a week. --> After human has been given his or her share of good or bad karma, the spirit no longer trails him or her. + When a spirit is "giving karma," they are following a human and putting good or bad opportunities in the human's path of life, NOT (as stated above) using magic of any sort.
Guardians and Haunters: A Closer Look We all know that a Guardian angel is an angel that watches out for us, yes? Keeps us from harm and all that? Well, guess what, that's exactly what Guardian angels do here, too. They're assigned to a human for the duration of a human's life (unless they completely screw up somehow, then they're put on probation), and their job is basically to ensure that the human's soul makes its way to Heaven.
So, then, what is a Haunter? A Haunter is the mirror opposite of a Guardian angel. Like the Guardians, they are assigned to a human for the duration of the human's life (unless they completely screw up somehow, in which case they're put on probation), and their job is basically to ensure that the human's soul makes its way to Hell.
Simple enough, right? Right. More information will be added as needed or upon request.

Satan sat on his obsidian throne, fuming, his long black fingernails drumming on the ruby-encrusted armrest. His black hair was tied back from his crimson face, his sharp teeth gnashing together in frustration. After a few more moments of fuming, he threw his head back and roared the name of his second-in-command. "BEELZEBUB!"
Quick footsteps were heard and a thin, dark-skinned demon rushed into the Dark Lord's throne room. "Y-yes, Majesty?"
"Have your men recovered her yet?"
"N-no, my liege. Sh-she is s-still--" he lowered his voice so that he was hardly whispering the words as he pointed towards the vaulted ceiling "--up there."
A low snarl sounded from the Dark Lord's throat as he stroked his black goatee with a manicured hand. "She had better be brought back," he said. "If a single hair upon her head is out of place, heads will roll, and not just angels'."
"With all due respect, Majesty," Beelzebub said, "I would be more concerned for the angels' safety, than for the Dark Lady's. She has shown herself to be quite capable of defending herself."
Satan sighed and sat back down on his throne, crossing one leg over the other and pressing a manicured hand to his temple. "Indeed she has," he murmured, more to himself than Beelzebub, "indeed she has.... Nevertheless, Bub--" he ignored the lesser demon as he winced at the nickname "--she had best be brought back quickly and unharmed. Do I make myself perfectly clear?"
"Crystal, Sir." Beelzebub bowed and hurried from the room. Once in the corridor, he wiped his forehead, noting he had broken out into a sweat. "Oh, sweet Lilith," he breathed, leaning against the wall. He hadn't dared tell Satan the latest news: ten out of the thirteen men he had sent out on Operation Obsidian Retrieval had been killed. He ground his teeth together, knowing the time was drawing near for a draft. No, not drawing near. The time had come. His jaw firmly set, Hell's second-in-command set off down the corridor at a strong pace, sorting things out in his mind as he went. They would begin the draft with the rural areas, then move towards the center of the city and hit the major corporations--KGD, FDI, and IBS.
Yes, it was flawless.
[[ Sed libera nos a malo;; ]]
Meanwhile, "upstairs," as those in Hell called it, Jesus was having problems of his own. Lilith was proving to be more trouble than she was worth, cursing and swearing at the sentries guarding her, spitting at anyone who tried to approach her, and even succeeding in slapping a few angels.
"Damn angels! Damn you and your so-called Holiness! When Satan gets up here, he's gonna kick you in the--"
"Look, sinner, the King of Hell isn't going to come and get you. He isn't going to leave his cushy seat down there in the Abyss, alright? He'd be too afraid of breaking a nail."
The other sentry chuckled lightly.
"He'll probably just send that little guy--what's his name? Bub, right?--to come and throw around some empty threats and take you back downstairs."
"Just watch, you faggoty bastards, he'll come up here himself to get me, and he'll kick your Lord's shiny white--"
"That is quite enough out of you, Lilith."
The two sentries straightened, and even the Mistress of Darkness was filled with a sense of awe.
"I have listened to your bickering with these sentries for long enough, and I expect you to watch your tongue; such language is unfit for a lady such as yourself."
The sense of awe having worn off as Jesus chastised her, she frowned at Him and looked at Him icily. "Yeah? And what're you gonna do about the language I use, hmm?"
"I will ask you politely to cease with your cursing, and I shall tell you that if you refuse to comply, I will have these fine young men escort you to our Sunday School so that you may learn the Bible along with the young angels."
"I don't need any damn Sunday School," she said bitterly. Then, in a mocking tone, "Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done, on Earth, as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive them that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen."
His eyebrows were raised slightly. "You know the Lord's Prayer?" he asked in a mild tone.
"I was a devout Catholic when I was on Earth. Ironic, huh?"
He gave a dry laugh. "I suppose it is, Lilith. Now, will you mind your tongue? Or shall I devise some other punishment for you?"
"I'll be a good little girl," she said. "Isn't it punishment enough that I can't do s**t because of Your damned Holy Power?"
He gave a wry smile. "I suppose it would be for you, Lilith. But keep in mind that we could do much worse to you than leave you powerless, free to wander throughout my Father's house." That being said, He walked past them and left the Mistress of Darkness, sulking, with the two sentries.
It was true that she was free to wander around the Lord's house as she pleased, but what was the point of meandering through God's house if you couldn't defile it with Hellish power? There wasn't any, as far as she was concerned.

((Why do you always get writers block at the most inapropriate time?! DX))
Ellie had yet to be asigned to a human, since she had only been with the Spiritual Security Systems a total of two months. The majority of those had been spent in training. Ellie's big brother was also working for SSS, and had been the one to introcuce her. Despite what the other angels said, Lin always belived the Ellie could be a top class guadian one day. She was already showing incredible potential, despide her dificult attitude.
Right now, Ellie was lounging in her usual spot. The grand fountain in the middle of the lucious green park. She was perched, wings spread, on the rim of the fountains pool, dipping her fingers into the water. As she did, it swirled and looped, jumped out and spiraled up her arm. As with all angels, she was able -to some extent- control a single element. In this case, Ellie was akin to water. Ever since she was younger she had always enjoyed being near water, wether it be a puddle or a lake.
((._. And that's all I can come up with. If it's not enough, just nag me and I'll extend it as much as I can XD))

OoC|| That's fine, I s'pose. I'm feeling lazy, so I'm just going to use a post from a one-on-one version of this as my intro for Naeiro. e.e;; ||BiC
Naeiro gave a disdainful sniff as he looked at the scene below him. No bigger than a deck of cards, he was hovering in the upper corner of the room--not that size particularly mattered in this case; he was invisible to anyone who happened to glance his way, by order of Spiritual Protection Act Amendment IV: no spirit shall ever be visible in his or her true form to mortal eyes. The mortals in question, below him, two men discussing business matters over lunch, were both lawyers. Good ones, too. One of them, the grey-haired one on the left, was about to meet his end.
The demon glanced at the clock hanging on the wall near the entrance. Twelve-oh-eight. Yes, the lawyer's time was nearly here. By twelve-twelve, he would be on a one-way trip to Hell, do not pass go, do not collect two hundred dollars.
The two men stood and shook hands, the younger one sitting back down to await the check, having volunteered to pay for lunch for his mentor. The grey-haired man grabbed his briefcase, and, after briefly checking his watch, made his way toward the door of the small restaurant. It was twelve-oh-nine.
The demon flitted through the door before him, passing through it as though it were nothing more than smoke. He darted around the side of the building and assumed a human shape, cigarette hanging loosely out of the side of his mouth, hands jammed in the pockets of his leather jacket. He shifted uncomfortably; human forms always chafed him. He caught sight of a young woman skulking near the side of the building and smiled. Twelve-ten. Right on schedule.
"Yo, Julia, ain't that the sunuvabitch that landed your brother in the slammer?"
The woman looked up as he addressed her, and an expression of confusion crossed her face--who was this guy? She was sure she hadn't seen him before, but nevertheless, she looked in the direction he had indicated. Sure enough, there he was. The man responsible for her brother's imprisonment.
"Here, youse can barrah mine."
She looked at the handgun she was being offered, then looked at the man holding it. His expression was blank.
"You want it or not?"
She glanced back at the gun once more, took it, and with hardly a moment's hesitation she had a bullet in the chamber. Hardly bothering to aim, she squeezed the trigger. At precisely twelve-twelve, the first bullet went into the man that had given her the gun (she swore she heard him laugh as he fell back), and its swift successor into the startled lawyer.
She turned to drop the gun to the ground next to the fallen man in the leather jacket, but he had vanished, not so much as a pool of blood left where he had fallen. A moment later, at precisely twelve-thirteen, she was sprinting away from the crime scene, the gun still in her hand.
* * *
The orange demon behind the desk smacked her gum loudly and looked skeptically over the rims of her glasses at the gang member in front of her. "Naeiro," she said flatly, "I've told you before, and I'll tell you again, you know the law. Amendment V to the Spiritual Protection Act clearly states--"
The blue demon reverted to his true self. "I know, I know. No spirit shall assume a false form while outside the mortal world. Just give me my next assignment, will you?"
Still chomping away on her gum, she rifled through the papers on her desk, at last looking back up at him. "You get the rest of the day off," she said. "We'll have something new for you in the morning."
He gave her an eloquent bow and backed out of the room, still bent double. The rest of the day off? That was a rare thing at FDI. He mused on how he should spend it. For starters, he decided, lunch. His spirits high, he set off down the sidewalk at a jaunty pace.

The wind picked up, shaking the trees and whistling through the grass. Out of the corner of her eye, Ellie though she saw something move. She turned, but there was nothing. Of course. She was getting to paranoid. It was this war. Ellie just got so frustrated about it. She couldn't see why the angels and the devils couldn't just get on with their lives. And all this kidnapping business was getting on Ellie's nerves. Because Ellie and Lin had no parents, they were boarding in a place that was, unfortunately, situated near where the Mistress of Darkness was being held. Ellie had spent a fair few nights awake, because the stupid woman wouldn't shut up.
Ellie heaved a great sigh and hopped of the fountains edge. She sprawled out on the luscious grass, her wings spread out. She poked at them and scowled. She never liked her wings. They looked the same as any other angels wings of course. Pure white, like swans wings. Ellie had no problem with others wings, it was just hers that seemed odd. Lin always told her that it was because they were a little bigger than normal, so of course they would seem a little odd, but Ellie didn't believe it.
Ellie sighed again, and blew her fringe from her face. "This is booring" She said to herself. Recently she had spent her time sitting around doing nothing, as the offices of SSS assigned her to guard someone. Her brother worked in the same department, and every night he came home to Ellie only to be asked "Have I got someone yet??" the moment he stepped in the door.
Caught up in the thought, Ellie gave quite a start when she heard a growl. She laughed at herself once she realized that it was her stomach. Well, she was incredibly hungry. She had always had a large appetite. Her mum had always said that she must have a bottomless stomach. Ellie paused. Mum. She shut her eyes to stop the tears. She was gone now, she told herself, you can't bring her back. Ellie sighed for a third time, this time exasperated. She shook her head to clear it, and set of in the direction of the nearest café.
(( Ah, that's better. Nice and long c: ))

Orion tapped his pen boredly on the desk, struggling to fight off the imminent yawn he felt approaching. Yawning was a result of not getting enough oxygen in the lungs, he remembered. But there was nothing to do here but breathe; how could he not be getting air? His brief pondering had left the window open for the yawn, and it struck without warning, forcing Orion to stifle it with the back of his hand (purely out of politeness) and play it off as nothing (purely so as not to be fired).
"Next, please," He called out, and an old angel whose wings had obviously seen better days stepped up. His cheerful-employee smile clicked into place effortlessly, almost unconsciously, as he prepared for another mindless repetition of one of three basic drills. "How may I help you today?" Three deposits, two withdrawals, and one angry stockholder later, Orion set his 'Next Window' sign onto his desk with a clack, setting off for the break room for a good stretch and maybe a cup of coffee. Maybe three cups of coffee.
There was just enough room in the break room to extend his wings fully; anyone taller would have been out of luck. He did so with his first real smile in what felt like decades (translating to a couple hours) as he felt the muscles stretch and bones click back into place. Ah, that felt great. He sighed, reluctantly folding them back up and straightening his horrible jacket that smelled like a mix of hairspray and formaldehyde. Only two more hours, he told himself firmly, draining his styrofoam cup and tossing it in the trashcan. Two more hours time five minutes per person was...24 more idiotic customers. Maybe he should keep a tally.

Astraelle marched down the street her eyes steely. Damn parents, what were they for anyway!? she thought scowling, then tossing her hair she wrenched open the door in front of her, and entered the front office of FDI. Slamming the door behind her she strode past the small red demon behind the front desk who tried, unsuccessfully, to protest at her treatment of the front door. She carried on down the corridor and turned left at the end walking into a small office whose door held a plaque saying ‘assignments’.
The small orange demon behind the desk looked up as Astraelle strode in and quickly threw herself over the papers on the desk, to stop them flying everywhere in the icy breeze that always followed in Astraelle’s wake. Astraelle raised her eyebrows and crossed her arms. “well?” she said “anything for me this afternoon?” The orange demon tried to remove a paper from under herself without letting go of the rest. Astraelle rolled her eyes and she darted forward snatching the paper from the unfortunate demon’s clutches. Her eyes glanced over the words and she turned heel and left, ignoring the squeals from the orange demon as she clutched at stray flying papers.
Her walking slowed down as she read the paper, she wasn’t watching where she was going and as she left the building she walked straight into someone coming in the other way. “watch where you’re going idiot!” she snapped not even looking up. Then she barged past and slamming the door carried on out into the street. She walked for a while and then stopped and took out the paper again, her eyes narrowing.
(sorry a bit short..ill add if you need it)

((Durr...my head hurts today e_e after hours of vigorous testing, i feel like shi7 ^^ n my other character hasn't been accepted yet, so this might be a big short, sry <3 ...ROFL xD i just realized something xD I rlly rlly dont know how I would start this off. Since my character's in hell, I doubt there are grassy plains and rivers in a convenient spot with the sun shining down happily >.<'' ))
Jessica smiled at her reflection as she finished applying her lip stick. Luckily, she had a day off work today. Her long blond hair has been curled thanks to her special ability and perfect, as usual. She stared at herself in the mirror. "Sometimes I wonder if I'm too pale." She mumbled to herself. In truth, she wasn't too pale compared to some 'morons' she worked with but she still liked getting a tan. Her ran a brush through her luscious hair and watched it glide on it perfectly as if skating. Another thing she hasn't enjoyed in a while. Loud rock music blasted loudly from her stereo as she started to hum along. She really had a lovely voice but refused to sang in public. What was the point of that anyway? She tapped her perfectly manicured fingers on her sparkling marble counter and began to list some of the things she would need today. Since this was one of the few days she gets a vacation, she was going shopping. She ran her fingers through the fabrics that were in her closet already. People told her she had too much clothes but nothing can ever be enough. Can it? She pulled out a dark red tank top that dipped low down and a black miniskirt. Once again, she returned to her vanity table and looked at herself. She still looked almost exactly like that 18 year old before. She applied some of her usual black eyeshadow and eyeliner and grabbed her purse. She couldn't possibly spend more time preparing even if she tried so she took off out the door.
(( sry >.> brb, dinner. ))

Leave? They were giving her leave?! Astraelle glared at the paper as if she could hurt her superiors through it. She scrunched the paper up into a ball and threw it down on the pavement ignoring the looks she got for doing so.
"stupid, stupid," she muttered under her breath striding down to the park, the only place she ever felt relaxed. She passed under the large gates and walked down to the lake. Sat on a bench at the edge and stared out across the water letting her eyes unfocus, lifted her fingers letting a breeze flow from her and cause the reeds by the water to dance around. Leave? Already? Perhaps she had been doing something wrong? Astraelle groaned she'd only been on the job for two months what could she possibly have done wrong? She'd not even been given an assignment yet!
She glanced around her noting the others hurrying past her to get out of the park and into the buildings ont he other side of the street, all sorts. she studied some of them having nothing better to do. One of them looked too much like her mother for Astraelle's comfort and she stood quickly aiming to duck behind a tree to her right and contuinue out of the gates perhaps to her favourite place for something to eat. Avoiding her mother was all she had to fill her next week with. What a sad life.
((sorry it's not that long))
