Hello! Here is where you find out how to create a Mayan persona. In the world of the b'alam, your avatar as you know it doesn't exist so you need to create a persona if you wish to RP a human with the b'alam. You can create a persona even if you do not have a b'alam! eek

Description of persona: Sinan is a k'atun (20 years) old, a slender and muscular young woman. She is fair for her kind, with paler skin than usual and amber brown eyes. Her name means 'scorpion,' and she lives up to it with her quickness and agility. Sweet and intelligent, a quick temper lurks below the surface, and Sinan can be venomous as her namesake in revenge. She delights in being a bit of a rebel, doing as she wishes.

Description of persona: Lakin is a 17 year old fisherman. He lives in a small hut in the village closest to the beach. Nearly as lazy as his b'alam, Lakin enjoys everything to do with fishing and life on the beach. He's easy-going, friendly, and never lets much bother him.

Description of persona: Tejas is a eighteen years old, she very muscular as her job in the village is being a hunter/gather. Her name means friendly, as that is her personality. She is very nice to others, and doesn't like to raise her voice. She loves her idol and wishes a B'alam would be attracted to it.

Description of persona: Naom, who is about 16 years old, is constantly found seeking off into the woods. A bit of a trouble maker, she can hardly sit still in her hut. Nothing pleases her more then watching the sun rise from the top of a tree deep in the woods. Some may call her masculine in nature, and she just considers herself adventurous!

Description of persona: Kolel is a 19 year old girl who is mute so she is automatically shy. Only those who like her for her or her B'alam are the ones that she's not afraid to be herself around. Just because she can't talk doesn't mean she's not a fun person, she's always up for a game, and when she's not running around and playing then she's hunting with her bow. That is afterall, her favorite thing to do, and she's pretty good at hunting too. Killing doesn't phase her, because it's a part of life.

Persona name: Hunhau (wan-WAH) B'alam owned (if any): N/A Description of persona: Hunhau is a small girl at the tender age of tweleve. She lives on her own in her hut, and gets by through foraging for food, flowers, and anything that strikes her pretty or useful - she then uses these items to sell for money or barter for other things. Being alone at such a young age could be problematic... but the tight-knit community serves as a more than ample 'parent'. She has been an orphan all of her life - her mother lost at childbirth and her father quickly after to the venom of a poisonus snake. She was raised by an elderly woman named Xbalanque until she passed away, Hunhau was ten at the time. Reference pictures (if any):

Persona name: Tiiu (TEE-yu – "eagle") B'alam owned (if any): n/a Description of persona: Tiiu is about twenty-three years old and a very animated and friendly character, liable to say "hello" to and start up a conversation with just about anyone she encounters. She's a successful painter, decorating pottery made by her father as well as creating elaborate murals, selling or bartering her wares and services at the local market. Persona name: Kimili (Kim-ill-ee; Almost like the hard 'c' in 'chameleon')
B'alam owned (if any): A king cheetah colored B'alam cub and a starry blue painted idol
Description of persona: Kimili was named after the god of death Ah-Puch, also called Kimil. Her parents both died before she was born (Her mother died in child birth and her father died earlier out of sickness) so the other villagers named her accordingly with death, hoping that if they gave tribute to the god by giving her his name, he would spare her as well. Tall and thin, she has back length black hair and darkly tanned skin. Kimili is 16 years old. She's mature and responsible, although if her Idol ever attracts a B'alam that is very playful and hyper, that all could change. She never really had a 'little kids running around playing' kind of childhood, since she had to get a feel for being by herself since she couldn't see at all.
Misfortune seemed to play upon her tauntingly as she is blind. While Kimili's body is strong physically, it is a great disability for her not to be able to see. When she received her idol, she hoped that if it attracted a B'alam, it would help her see. Nonetheless, Kimili's other senses, such as hearing, have become her greatest weapon. She is also very adept at weaving cloth, although the colors might be a bit awkward since she has no idea what they are. For that, Kimili relies on the opinions of those around her and soon, her B'alam companion.
Kind hearted and sweet, Kimili can become very attached to things and other people/creatures. Although because of her disability, people tend to try to be extra nice to her, and she dislikes that. She doesn't think of being blind as a handicap, but simply a push to explore other senses. While Kimili has sandals for hard terrain or rocky areas, she normally walks barefoot around the village. It helps her feel where she is in relation to other things, even though she can't see it. Putting on a brave face everyday, Kimili goes about her daily chores and hopes her Idol will attract a B'alam.

Description of persona: Ixe is sixteen years old, and vastly opinionated for her age. She is named after the Lady Rainbow, Ixchel, a moon and earth goddess. Ixe is bright, and very intelligent, though she can also be sarcastic and a bit cold. She loves Kushan with all of her heart, and she finds it very hard to trust anyone else.
She was abandoned by her parents at a young age, and was raised by a group of people from her village.

Description of persona: Amaryllis is a very cheerful young woman. She recently began to take interesting in flowers, and in the village, she's opened up a little exotic flower shop. As a florist, she is in the shop on weekdays and on weekends she will go with Paka or alone to find some more beautiful flowers, where she can locate their name in her large book of flowers. It's been used by others, and so it's tattered, crinkly, but amazingly useful. Amary enjoys wildlife and thinks all things circle around nature.

He keeps to himself and has a habit of throwing rocks at the local children and cubs should they venture too close. Description of persona: Tlocatl is very set in her ways. She has passed the akwardness and freshness of youth. Her life has been full of learning and she is beginning to understand herself and the world around her more distinctly, as it comes into focus towards the end of her life. Her lifelong hope of finding her own Balam unfulfilled, she has grown patient and the sharp heartbroken longings of youth have settled into a calm resolve and a steady bittersweet hope.
