The other day I was at a haunted area when I felt two cold hands on my shoulders. I turned to see the intruder- only to see a white flash disappear behind a brick building which is often active with spirits. It really startled me- much more than it scared me.
This has happened a couple of times in that same location.

I wouldn't call that the touch of death. Perhaps a ghost, but I wouldn't say death. sweatdrop
What's the history behind this place? It might explain why the ghost(s?) there seem to like you so much.

it's an old place... composed of an asylum, graveyard, homes, barns, lots of historic buildings and structures... alot of bad things happened when the places were still running... especially the asylum.
My mom has a friend who used to work in the asylum, she had to give the loonies birth control or they'd become pregnant. Retards got committed there. Even people with a speech impediment or a gimp when they walked could get sent there, even blind or deaf people. I know alot of bits of dark secrets and stories about the place.
it can be a very creepy place, but often, it's a calm place to have a picnic and observe ghost activity. And they do seem to like us, or at least be neutral to our presence. Anyone who we have brought to that area at least once before don't seem to phase these 'spirits'. Although when other people that come to that place snooping around, the ghosts go completely still until the people have left. Very odd. my best friend and I go there all the time. We've explored 'haunted' places for as long as I can remember sinced I moved to my current location- churches, graveyards, even the house next to her house is haunted. A dozen or so prostitutes were murdered in that house years back, and we used to look around in it when it was still abandoned. The house had an area where it would be room temperature and then suddenly turn deathly cold, as if frozen. I'd hear movement in the house and lights turning on and off. I'm friends with the guy who lives there now, he said once that he tries to stay out of that house as much as possible.

Hmm...I'd be careful around there, even if you say most of the ghosts are benign. Chances are there are some vengeful ones. I'd also be wary because they seem to have a special reaction to you, whether it be good or bad...

I'm always careful 3nodding ... I've been followed by malevolent ghosts and such all the way to my house. So I know the risks sweatdrop Caution is vital, I never let my guard down, even when the place seems calm. It can suddenly become chaotic gonk And I appreciate you- you seem to look out for me 3nodding

Such places can be a real danger. experience would tell me to stay away or come in force but I'd say in all actuality what happens doesn't seem to be all that serious or dramatic. Most ghost can do very little physically. However the most common attack I've seen by ghost are usually small abrasion and cuts and also choking. since it doesn't seem to be squeezing the life out of you it probably places its hand there for sentimental or abstract reason such as trying to make you comfortable or feel safe. since it startles you it isn't generating high emotional output or sense of anger and such, so my assumption is maybe a ghost keeping you safe from other ghost but shy and doesn't want to be looked at. this however could also be a temporary ploy to lower your guard and possibly do more harm to you.

rori_nya And I appreciate you- you seem to look out for me 3nodding Aww, thanks. It's good that you're cautious already; not all of the committed were innocent, I'm sure.

don't be concerned about what happend to you. that is sometimes the easiest way for a spirit to make contact with you. when i go to the cemetary to visit my mom, etc. i have had the same thing happen several times over. usually it is just someone getting my attention. yes, it is cold and unnerving, especially when i am not paying attention, but i think that is why they do it, to get our attention. the only time i would really get concerned is if you felt hands around your neck, mouth, our impressions were left on skin, those are almost always left by a negative entity, and yes i have experienced all. word of advice for you though, the next time you go to the cemetary ask a relative that has passed over to go with you as a guardian. talk to them before your arrival and when you are there. (make sure no one see you talking of course LOL) usually this helps.

Stay with mom or anyone else who knows of paranormal activity and knows what to do if something bad happens. When I go to places I usually go with a 2 friends & my boyfriend. They know what to do & they've been dealing with this stuff longer than I. Or if I can't get a hold of them, I usually ask my mom to go with me because we have experienced paranormal activity together.
Your encounter reminds me of 2 encounters I have had but they were 2 completely different things. The flash of light I've seen was in my bedroom & it was a pixie. The hands of a ghost I had on me was a little boy ghost who just wanted comfort.
Knowing this place. It certainly is full of activity but it can be mixed with so many types/ varieties of ghosts (good, bad, & indifferent). Like everyone is telling you just watch your back & I recommend people to go with you to help watch your back. 3nodding

In my opinion, as there was an asylum (you said in another post), that that ghost had been lonely or afraid and may have been confused and thought you were a nurse or visitor.
