I would love to start a roleplay in the RP forums, but I just don't want to get in trouble or anything.

I... don't think you'd get into trouble, unless you really went out of your way to make trouble, hehe. Don't worry about it smile
I've been RPing for a fairly long time, mostly in free-style text based RPGs similar to whats going on here. Its pretty easy and a lot of fun, so I'm sure everyone will pick it up really quickly. If you guys have any questions, feel free to ask me. I'm no guru, but I do have a few years of experience.
Generally, most RPGs are pretty lax. A lot of them involve very little GM (Game Master, the one who created the RPG) interaction and let the players control the story progression. A good rule of thumb is treat people the way you would want to be treated and respect everyone else's characters. So, no flaming, flooding, etc. etc. When I say respect everyone's characters, I mean don't degrade someone's character or elevate your character higher than everyone else. For instance, most people don't like God-modders (those who play characters as if they are invincible or are so fast or strong that they cannot be harmed), or people that do connections (attacking someone else's character and writing their reaction in the same post).
Btw, would it be alright if I advertised my RPG guild in the forum?
