I made these with my little sister (shes 7) but they were cute so I put them up!
INGREDIENTS:
2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) butter, room temperature
1 cup light brown sugar, packed
1 egg
1/2 cup molasses
granulated sugar for rolling cookies
PREPARATION:
In a medium bowl, stir together the whole wheat flour, baking powder, salt, ginger, cinnamon and cloves; set aside. In mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar; beat in egg and molasses until well blended.
Stir in flour mixture, stirring until batter is smooth. Shape dough into balls, about 1 tablespoon in each. Roll in granulated sugar. Place cookie balls 2 inches apart on greased baking sheets and flatten just slightly. Bake at 375° for 8 minutes, or until somewhat firm to tough. Remove to rack to cool. Makes about 3 dozen.
as for the topping Im sure you all have your own fondant recipes and icing sugar but here goes:
Color two pieces of fondant icing with pink and gree food coloring. Roll out the icing and cut into petal and leaf shapes. Stick the shapes onto the top of a biscuit using icing sugar mixed with a little water.
I'll post a pic laters... atleast I got some this time before they were eaten lol!
