 The Spire Mountains is a wild, untamed range of mountains that runs down most of the kings lands. It has only one major pass, along the Toark River, which serves to isolate the coast.
Most people in the kings lands fear the Spire Mountains and the danger it represent, especially since the king lost nearly half his army in hours during his campaign to rule over Farthen-Dur when he use the mountain range as short cut.

*Relena moved through forest floor, care of where she placed her feet to insure silences. An arrow was ready in her bow, ready to make a kill. She had already tested the bow abilities before she enter the mountains and now what looked for deer. Hell she was looking for any moving mammal. For past two days now she had only seen a small heir that was worth a mouse dinner.*
Were are the animals at? This is the time of year the are out grazing!

*After another few hours passed by, Relena place her arrow back in its pouch and lower her bow.*
Nothing...oh come on, I am not that bad!
*Sadly it was time to head back. Ohoy...how was she going to explain to her family that she didn't bring anything back to sell in town or for dinner.*
The fat lady just sang...unfortunately.
*She started to head down the mountain listening to the sounds the mountain made. Sounds that usually made people flee in terror but for her, she found them soothing and relax. Then again the town seem to think that she weird in some way. Relena laughed. Since when did she care.*
Thank you Spire, for granting me passage and your time and patience.
*She bowed her head to ground in thanks. After an hour passed by she decided to set up camp. Tomorrow she would head out of the mountain and back home.*

*A fire could be seen glowing on the side of Spire. Relena tossed another piece of wood on the fire and looked at her vanishing wood pile.*
Looks like I am going to have find some more wood....
*A quick draft of cool wind blew through the campsite making her teeth chatter.*
Or it is going to be extremely cool!!!
*With the second draft of wind she was up on her feet and moving.*
Wood...wood...wood...
*She was now at her hundredth piece of wood that she had found.*
DRY WOOD...wet wood doesn't burn!
*As if Spire was punishing her for her out burst, she quickly found herself face first in the snow with a soar foot.*
Sorry....Spire....I will keep it down.
*She flipped over on to her butt rubbing her head.*
Ow....what did I trip over.
*She looked at the stumps roots sticking out of the ground and rolled her eyes. If she didn't know better, Spire was laughing its a** of at her now.*

*Relena brushed off the stump and soon revealed her foot in a mass of roots, securely stuck! She gave it a tug but to no avail. When the second tug fail as well she back pushing, pulling, bending, and just plain cursing to free her foot, which was now a bit sore.*
Release....the.....FOOT....AHHHHHHH!
*With pop her foot pulled free and she went tumbling backward down the wet snowy hill, becoming a gigantic snowball. When she finally stop her the ride of her life she shook her head free of the daze clouding it and pulled herself up onto her feet. Her foot gave a loud protest as it sent a mind numbing pain up her leg.*
Ow....ow....ow....okay....next hunting tip...the men can have all the fun! I will stay home where it is warm and there's no tree roots!

*She made her way back up hill and her now dead fire.*
Charming...it is going to be a cold night.
*She wrapped herself in the blanket she had brought with her and snuggle up in her makeshift tree branch hut. Surprisingly the night quickly faded and the sun rose giving much wanted heat. Her foot still hurt greatly so grab a stick and used it a crutch before beginning the walk out of the mountains. She came upon the same stump that try to devour her leg last night and gave it hell of a kick with her good foot.*
What the...
*As the snow shifted and fell from the top of the stump a oval shape object began to be reveal.*
Hello? What do we have here?
*She carefully pulled the oval stone from the inside of the stump out and shifted it in hands, studying it. It was beautiful with its deep blood red color and black markings. She put her backpack on the ground. Begin careful not to damage the stone she placed on the padding of her blanket and close the top of the backpack.*
I don't know what you are...but perhaps you can get me some meat the butcher in Carvahall.
*With that statement she headed down the hill and out of the Spire Mountains.*

Tenshi arrived several hours later at spire mountains. he was getting slightly tired since he hadn't done such a hike for awhile. he grabbed out the soil testing tool that him and his father came up with to find blacksmithing materials. Every several steps he tested the soil following the change in soil keeping aware of anything in the area around him.

*Quiet whispering filled the air and the climate began to drop dramatically. Spire was not amusing with it trespasser. As far as it was concern Tenshi was enemy numero uno!*
How dare on of the kings whelps enter my threshold. I despise unwelcome guests!
*Despite the lower elevation that Tenshi was on, snow began pour down like rain as the wind pick up, blowing directly at Tenshi.*
I will not have one of the kings in my domain!
*Spire had thought after its many deaths inside its vastness that worthless humans would stray from its borders. This time Spire would make a example, a big one!*

Tenshi could not hear what spire was saying but he could see the snow comming at him. He quickly drew out his sword and began to stick it deep into the ground to keep his hold as he stepped he did hear that this place was tough but he didn't know it was this hard. But he did know that he was not going to let anything stop him.

*Spire sent a growl through its forest mountain, clearly pissed by the intruder.*
My patience has dried human!
*The forest began to shift and floor rumbled. Eruptions of some sort could be heard from all around Tenshi. Sounds of things whistling and whirling around in the deep darkness began to overpower the shift floors noises. The snow suddenly bulge in front of Tenshi, and within seconds vines burst from the white cover and connected with Tenshi left side, sending him tumbling into snow behind him. Trees began to twist and turn towards Tenshi, their branches sharping as they began to aim for Tenshi.*
Begone...
((Told you Spire was alive...and doesn't like many people. And yes...I did act like a god, if I hadn't you would have dodge. I want that first attack to connect! Don't worry once you get your egg, spire will be more friendly towards you. Right now it think your just a human, cowarding under the king control...FYI it has the king and all to do with it.))

Aranel's swift feet carried her far. As snow began to show on the ground, it was not too long before Aranel found Relena's tracks. She brushed her hair back and revealed the tapered ears, wondering if that would keep the spire at bay. Her elven mother had always sang about the spire. Aranel had heard from the singing that the mountain didnt seem to like tresspassers, even almost seemed alive! Aranel doubted that last part, but she was wary none the less.

*Spire attention suddenly shifted from just Tenshi to Relena and him. Relena was unhappy and spire didn't care for it in the lease. It soon found Aranel and pick up on her trying to find Relena. It was not in the mood for this at moment.*
Ones who I allow to seek my safety will get nothing less!
*The ground suddenly buckled under Aranel, sending her to all fours. The forest seem twist and turn around the young women. Vines from the tallest trees unwrapped themselves from the trunks and sharpen into spear-like weapons. They moved over Aranel as if waiting for one excuse to rip her apart.*

Aranel stayed on her knees, trying to show submission. Then slowly, she reached for her bag and lifted up the small green dragon. then she lifted up the red one, trying to show her reasons. The green chirruped at the vines and cuddled into Aranel's cape.

*The vines slowly retreated but didn't vanished completely. They followed her every movement. She made have temporarily passage, but it could easily be taken away.*
A Dragon Rider...
*Spire reverted it action to Tenshi, but still keep a part of itself home in on Aranel.*
