The single mother didn't think anything of the strain on her stronger neck muscles as she pulled the prey beast back to the den she had made for she and her only daughter.
The Gazelle had been a difficult hunt, but an easy kill for one slighter in size, and therefor more agile, like Kimya.
As she reached the great tree she settled the kill down, looking about for her child.
"Imara? Are you here, love?"

At first all was silent. Then a small giggle and finally a peal of laughter as the young lion bounded out from her hiding spot - unable to stay silent any more. "I'm here, I'm here." she said, coming to a halt across the other side of the gazelle.
The little girl had grown - not a great deal she was obviously going to be as slight as her mother - but she was no longer a tiny cub. Her legs had stretched a little, her coat grown away from its babyish fluffyness and she had gotten a little taller.
Her apetite, it seemed, had also grown. A loud rumble issued from her small tummy as she eyed the gazelle carcass - she really was hungry. Despite that, though, she nipped forward with a welcoming nuzzle to the one constant in her life. "Welcome back, Mamma."
