Religion, there are so many religions out there. Islam, Muslims, Morman, Christan, Jewish, Piscabol, more and more. All in which believen the same God. Other religions such as budism have another God to believe in. Where does it start for religion, if God is not real, then how would it begin. I would think maybe some believening that fire as God and some believening it as warmth. It's a topic to think about, so I started one.

GimpKing Interesting you missed out Islam. He missed out lots, hence "more and more" =P and Islam/Muslims believe in one God so they fit into that section really.

...unless he edited his post...it says Islam right there, the first one he mentions is Islam...lol...
but anyway...as far as im concerned. each religion started with a small group of people (maybe elders of the society) and they created something to give the people hope...hope for better times...back then people died after only about 25/30 years....so they needed a reason to be productive during their life...so, give them hope...sedate them...keep them working for the rich and powerful.
then, over time it got adapted for theevery man, even the rich and powerful fell under its spell....and now, at least for catholosism, that leaves us here, today...

I feel religion was purely created to bring order, the use of an all powerful god who has the ability to grant life and death would scare any believer into following his rules. So using this man you could scare people into confoming and thus helping society and setting very simple rules like "thou shalt not steal." Which is why things such as not worshiping another God are in place, just to help it seem as though this God is slightly more realisitic.
If you havn't noticed I only really know much about Christianity (heck I was dragged to church and made to sing in the choir until I was 12..), I know enough about Islam and Buddism but other than that I know little to not enough about any other religion; shows how great and useful RE is at school really.

Except in the Catholic bible it says that Adam and Eve and other various people lived over 800 years of age. So it could also be that elders made it seem that 35 years was 800 keeping them to work.

That would be what he did dumbass. lol that up your pipe and smoke it. And what I meant was yes he said more and more, but he didn't SPECIFICALLY mention islam, whereas he did Mormons. Islam is the world's second biggest religion, and it didn't get a mention, whereas I put Piscabol or whatever the ******** that noise is into google and didn't get a single hit. THAT'S what I meant.

I put it into google and they had nothing, so could you tell me a little more about it? i will have to ask my mother about it. its her side of the family, and ive only gone to church about 4 times when i was in fourth grade so i dont know anything. i know its kind of like catholic and all the other similar ones.

OOO a cult??? I would LOVE to be in a cult! what do we worship? a used tissue found on the computer desk of a pubesant teenager?? that'd be hot!....all I want to know is, can we all wear Nike shoes and drink poissonous fruit punch??
