He hadn't grown up much since he was a foal, he still thought girls were 'yucky' and seemed almost dedicated to the thought. He loved to annoy them though as they seemed to have the most fluctuating emotions he had ever encountered. It was easy to manipulate them and annoy them and after all he loved to annoy females, they weren't really worth his time.
He had been lucky that he had been born into such a large family though he had met a couple of them without realising he was even related to them. He didn't care too much though, he looked good and he did care about that. He had been blessed with his markings. His mother and father seemed to complement each other and as a result he was created looking amazing and obviously better then his sister as she had been unluckily born female. It was a curse she seemed to like though Meshach would never understand why. Girls just weren't right.
He had decided to take a long walk today to think about what to do next in his plans for Blackfire. She was so perfect to mess with and he saved her life so he could always use that if need be. Oh he loved to mess with her it was more fun then most could imagine. Though he was getting slightly bored, she was harder to crack then he had first anticipated so he either needed something really good to break her, a partner in crime or someone else to try and crack. He doubted he would ever find anyone annoying enough to be a partner in crime, males seemed too grown up, wishing their lives away with babies and whatnot.
He had always found the forest the perfect place to think. The sun found it hard to break through the tree's and so he was hidden in the darkness. It also meant that he could normally find others before they found him but today he wasn't in the mood for finding someone else, he was thinking and so was out in the clearing of the forest drinking from the cool water. Every now and then he would look at his reflection and smile, he was such a good looking guy!

She had been running, wild and free out upon her plain. Given, Bella understood the open land was for everyone, but the girl only seemed to find herself present upon the massive field. Most shied away from the blazing heat, seeking shelter around cooler beaches and woods.
Not Bella.
The elusive mare enjoyed her freedom much to much to be boggled down by her teepee or by a massive group of others. It was why she never thought of joining a herd - not only did she not know any, but the female wasn't sure how she'd feel about being surrounded by so many strangers! The honey-touched femme wasn't shy, not really, but she preferred smaller groups to many.
Her run, along with the sun's blessed heat, had caused her to head towards a clearing near the woods. The tall tress surrounding the small pond would feel good against her sun-touched skin, and the water would cool her dry tongue. With a quiet clip-clop of her her hooves against the ground, Bella approached the pond's edge not far from Meshach.
The girl acknowledged the black and amber-striped male with a quick look - he was black of colour and had the most peculiar tail she'd ever seen! None of the soquili she'd met had tails that were so . . . floofy tipped! Even Azumoth, the shadow of the woods, hadn't had an unnatural looking tail.
It was pretty, in an unusual way, and Bella could only inwardly smile. With luck this stranger wouldn't be hypersensitive about his appearance. Lately that was what all the stallions were. . . sensitive and broken.
Keeping a respectful distance between the pair, Bella hadn't noticed the males face, nor his horn. "Salutations," she greeted in a whisper, hardly audible. She didn't want to disrupt the male from his drink, nor make him feel obligated to speak to her. This way he could drink in peace.
Trotting up to the lakes edge, the girl lowered her head and drank.

He had heard her coming and thinking it was Blackfire had just kept to drinking. He didn't want to see the female right now, she was too confusing! Instead he was much happier to drink but the voice that hit his ears was not that of the black female but of someone else. Curiosity made him look up towards the female. She looked so different to the other females she had big fluffy hooves and her mane and tail, there was so much hair!
He just watched her while she drank not interrupting in case she was one of these nutters that thought drinking was a time for not being disturbed though he was never one for patience and it soon showed.
"Hello there!"
He called out to her, his golden eyes watching her pale body. She was pretty, there was no doubt about it. The thought flickered through his head and once he realised what he was thinking he shook his head in disgust. Females weren't pretty, they were all crazy and so stupid! She was probably no different! He would give her a chance to at least prove whether she was or not though, it only seemed fair.

Glancing up from the water as the voice echoed throughout the lake, her curled tail swished softy behind her. A smile stretched across her features as she further acknowledged the stallion.
Getting a chance to see his front half, the girl surprised her inward surprise at the spiraled horn that ran from the top of his head. Besides Azumoth, again, Meshach was her first unicorn to have stumbled upon. Somehow she gathered that this was yet another feature that the shadowed soquili compared himself with. . .
But how silly of the male! His horns were a bit backwards, yes, but they were much larger than the delicate gold spiral before her! It was like comparing apples to oranges - it just didn't add up!
Shaking some water from her lips, Bella caught Meshach's gaze - just so he'd know she wasn't staring - and returned the gentle greeting with one of her own. "Well hello!" She made no movement to bridge the distance between the pair, she stayed still upon the waters edge.
Some soquili didn't care for for more intimate conversation so Bella decided not to throw herself upon the male with ceaseless conversation. Perhaps it was because she was still guilty from having done so with Azumoth. . . whatever the case, she decided if Meshach wanted to further the conversation than he would - otherwise she'd leave him to his peace to be safe.
Turning back to finish her drink, the girl's thirst was quenched. Smiling down upon her reflection, shaking out her hair, the honey-touched soquili finally moved from the waters edge. Her hooves were touched with mud but she paid the dirt little mind. Perhaps she'd stay and graze or enjoy the comfort of the shade from a few neighboring trees.
"Enjoy your drink," she told the black stallion with a chuckle, figuring he would very well part ways. There was no shame in being polite was there? None at all!

He continued to watch her for a while, nodded as she said hello back and then watched her as she finished her drink. He was no longer interested in the water not when there was a creature standing so close that looked so strange. Her legs seemed so hairy and her mane and tail seemed almost fluffy. It was somewhat confusing and Meshach couldn't get his head around it. Was she another breed of soquili that he just hadn't heard of before?
"I am sorry but why do you have so much hair?" It could have come across rude but maybe the look of confusion on the stallions face would have let her known that he didn't mean it to be rude. He was curious. He had never seen anything like her before and though she was rather interesting he couldn't help but wonder about her and that annoyed him because it meant he was spending time thinking about a girl, eww!
"I am Meshach, sorry if I sounded rude I have never seen anyone look so fluffy." She was fluffy and beautiful and he wished he would stop thinking like that. Females were bad, they weren't beautiful. They were stupid and ugly and horrible and he was sure once this one started talking that she would fit the criteria as well.

Bella blinked at the black and striped stallion for a moment, her mind trying to wrap about his blunt question. Thankfully, Bella wasn't easily offended. Her blink of confusion transformed in to one of delight as she laughed softly at Meshach and his question.
"Oh no, it's quite all right, really," she added with a smile, tail swishing amicably behind her. Pawing at the ground Bella glanced down at her furry hooves, trying to come up with some sort of answer. Was she really that fuzzy compared to the rest of the world? The mare had never thought much about her physical appearance. Yes she was stockier than more, and fuzzier but . . . . was she that different?
Hmm.
"Ya know I really don't know. . ." How could she understand that she was based off a particular horse breed. She'd never met another soquili based like her . . . . "I suppose I was just made that way." A shrug of her shoulders and another little chuckle. "Do I look so different compared to other mares. . .?" Bella honestly didn't realize exactly how fluffy she was!
Ducking her head, almost coyly, the girl offered Meshach a gentle but teasing smile. "To be fair - why is it your tail is so elegant and long? I'll admit I've never seen a soquili that looks quite like you."
Yes, that was right - it wasn't his horn that caught her eye, it was his tail.

He let out a soft laugh.
"You seem different to other mares, your hooves for one, and you seem to have a fluffier mane and tail though personally I think it looks better then the other mares I have seen. You are blessed by someone obviously!" Did he just say he thought she was better looking then other females? Well maybe he meant she was ugly but not as ugly. Yes that must have been it after all he thought females were horrible because they had to be! He was determined not to like females but she seemed alright and it was hard not to like her.
"My tail?" He looked round at it and flicked it a little. He found it rather amusing that they both found each other so different.
"My mother has a tail and horn like mine but also has wings though I didn't get the wings my sister did. I like my tail it can be fun!" He showed her how he liked to use his tail by walking into the shallow water and moving his tail so that it created a small wave in the water. He loved his tail, it was great to splash people!

Bella picked up her right front leg, giving it a little shake, watching as the thick fur ruffled out of the way. She had to admit there was a lot of wispy fur upon her legs but. . . . that was just the way the cookie crumbled. She couldn't change it - heck, she didn't even know WHY or HOW she got to be so different looking than others - but then that was the joy of genetics. Why were some Soquili born like her and others like Azumoth or Feena or . . . or even this stranger?
The world might never know.
"There are hooves under there, really," she admitted with a smile, amber eyes peeking up at the dark male. "Though I'll admit - even sometimes I have to remind myself that they're there!"
Setting her foot back down, Bella was pleased that this one didn't seem too anti-female. After meeting the broken spirit of Helaku and the very-aloof and partially intimidating Azumoth, Bella had began to believe that NO males were initially female-friendly! Thankfully this Meshach was amicable enough and didn't seem at all put off by her gender.
"I'm Bella, and it's a pleasure to meet you!" She added (a bit belatedly) with a smile. Walking closer to Meshach and the waters edge, the honey touched female peeked in to the water to watch as his tail created the ripples and waves.
Her own tail twitched but was unable to do anything of the sort. . . at least so cleanly! Her gold eyes glowed with delight as she imagined just how much fun having a furry tail would be! Compared to every soquili she'd met Bella realized that she was the least. . . decorated. . . of them all! She had no fangs and claws and silk like Azumoth, no beautiful green wings like Feena, or no fun tail or horn like Meshach. She had . . . . fur around her hooves which was quite unimpressive compared to them all.
She was just simple and homely really. How luck they all were!
"Oooh - your mother has wings?" Bella was instantly intrigued, trying to imagine what sort of winged soquili she might be! Azumoth had a glorious set of dragon wings, sharp but large upon his back while Feena had been graced with the most elegant set of butterfly! What other sort of winged soquili roamed the world. . . .?
"I've met a few with different sorts of wings and have been touched with envy both times, I must admit," the good-humored light in her eyes described her emotions as gentle and more based upon admiration than some sort of vicious feeling. "I'm afraid beside the fluffy feet, I come off a bit on the plain side."
Chuckling, the girl reached forward with her hoof and splashed a very small wave at Meshach. It wasn't enough to do much damage, but had been a playful gesture nonetheless. "But even without a fascinating tail such as yours, that doesn't mean I can't make waves of my own."

He laughed as she picked up her hoof to show him there was one there under all the hair. It seemed it was Bella's lucky day, he was another unfriendly male to females but she was just so different. He hadn't seen anyone like her before and she seemed nice, which was something he didn't believe females could be. There is a first for everything.
"You are far from plain I can assure you of that! I have never seen a female who looks so beautiful and I have seen many females. Most idiots. You are the only female I have met who seems decent and that in itself makes you not plain. That and the way you look is far from plain!" He was trying to make sure that she realised she wasn't plain. He then he realised that he hadn't answered her question.
"My mother has wings like birds and they are really cool so yes she has wings!" He was going to say something else but the small wave plashed him, he wasn't really expecting it.
"Yes it seems you can!" He laughed and used his tail to splash her back.

It was a good thing she couldn't read minds. The poor girl wouldn't know what to do with her if Meshach had indeed played his more anti-feminine role. Bella was already beginning to believe there was some mysterious conspiracy against anything female within the heart of the stallion community. . . Thankfully though, Meshach was not one of them.
The golden furred mare was a bit surprised at the black ones response. He seemed quite adamant in denying her homeliness, much more than she would have expected! Beautiful? Her? A coy smile crossed her features and she ducked her head timidly, giving her reflection in the water a second glance. How did she respond to such a retort? Such praise was a rarity.
Chuckling, the cream lady offered Meshach a dazzling smile. "All right, you win, perhaps I'm not entirely plain. . . but. . . I'm also quite sure there are many other ladies like me that are far from idiotic." It did her ego good to know that she wasn't completely a failure amongst the mare soquili race. . . .
Sometimes a girl just had to be reminded.
As Meshach sent another splash out, Bella laughed and dodged to the side, causing another plethora of ripples and small waves to disturb the lakeside. Tsking softly in her throat, her amber eyes danced in good-humor. "I'd be careful if I were you. . . . There's an entire lake full of water that's just looking for trouble..."
Oh sure, she started the splashing game, but she might as well give the poor boy some warning and a chance to run! The sweet natured mare was far from immune to mischief and games and needed only the smallest amount of provoking.

Meshach just watched her and was about to argue with her about her not being the only non-idiotic female around but then decided he couldn't be bothered to argue with her. It was just boring really and she seemed too nice to argue with anyway!
"Is it now? I thought the entire lake was wanting you dunked in it!" He smiled as he spoke, when was the last time he had actually played with someone? He couldn't really remember, was it with Blackfire? That was a long time ago. Yep he was going to let himself enjoy having fun for a while as that seemed to make the most sense at the moment.
He moved further out into the water where he could try and make more of a splash before trying once again with his tail to throw as much water as he possibly could at her. With all that hair he knew she would take quite a while to dry but that just made it all the more enjoyable.

Bella laughed at black and striped unicorns retort. So that was the way it was going to be, was it? Well he'd certainly made the mistake in thinking Bella deplored the water! Certainly she didn't care for storms - her coat weight a ton when it was soggy and drenched with water, and with all her hair it took forever to dry!
But. . . .
Today she was in pleasant spirits and wasn't afraid of the lake. As Meshach backed up in to deeper water, splashing another wave with his tail, Bella was ready. Rearing up on her legs, she let loose a challenging cry before leaping forward after Meshach. Her heavier build, along with her thick hair and size made quite the splash. Yes, she drenched herself in the process, but what did it matter?
It was fun!
Hardly waiting to see if the unicorn was wet, Bella charged with a laugh. "Now you've done it!" She warned, ready to jump out of Meshach's way if he didn't take the hint and run. It wouldn't do her any good to ram and bully the male upon first meeting. . . .
((It's a shorty, sorry! I am le tired. D: ))

The wave was something of a shock to him. He hadn't expected her to create such a wave and when he saw her charging him he laughed and ran! He didn't have much of a choice really as there was a mare running to him as part of a wave and it was the oddest thing he had ever seen in his life! It kind of freaked him out but at the same time he was sure that Bella wasn't some magical water horse!
He ran towards the shore, sending splashes of water out as his hooves tried to find something solid under the water. He slipped a couple of times but managed to get up again until he climbed back onto dry land where he continued to run a little before looking back. His body was soaking wet making it shine a little. He liked being wet, he had always played and swam in the water since he was small. He loved it!
