Story:
In the land of Arnen, there has been a rumor for centuries of powerful Warriors known as "Elementals". Though magic is commonplace throughout it's Kingdoms, many, Especially Arania, Doubt the existence of these so-called "Elementals". Through a strange turn of events, the first three Elementals have been discovered. they are Water, Fire, and Darkness. The elementals are bound by fate in pairs that compliment Each other; Water and fire, Light and Dark, Earth and Wind, Space and Time. Now, two groups rise out of the confusion: The Chevaunts, led by Water, and the Drunen, or Drune, Led by Darkness. In the middle of it all stands the Mighty and proud Arania, trying to survive through this greatest of wars, the Elemental wars.

Intro:
This is a fantasy RPG with magic, fighting, espionage and maybe a little (clean!) romance. Hopefully it will be fun for all who participate. Make sure to follow the rules. PM character bios to me if you want to join, and PM any questions to me, as I want to keep this thread neat and clean.I also want this RP to be Literate and maybe even make it to the Advanced level XD

Factions:
Arania: The largest kingdom in Arnen, She takes great pride in her Military. All of the soldiers are expert warriors and skilled in hand-to hand combat. Many are proficient with bows. Their downfall is a distrust in magic, which they refuse to use. Many Aranians have a bit of a superiority complex.
Gypsies: The gypsies Are a nomadic culture, roaming from place to place.They are skilled information gatherers and performers, and are proficient at creating long lasting enchantments. if they do shoose to fight, it is mostly secretly, with plenty of ambushes and attrition.
Calan: One of the second largest kingdoms in Arnen, Calanians rely heavily on magic for thier military, but are capable melee fighters. Most of their magic is used for strengthening objects, healing, and adding elemental attributes to their attacks.
Drune: Drune is the underground organization set forth to destroy Arania. They use dark magic and monster summoning to do their dirty work, and rely heavily on rituals for these summons. They often do solo missions, and none other than the leader knows the whole picture of their plan.

Affiliations: Arania: Basically the good guys, they have their faults too, though the conflict will probably fix those. Many gypsies and Calanians ally themselves with arania, and Calan is officially a sub-kingdom of Arania.
Drune: The main antagonists, the drunen are anyone who has a grudge against Arania. they are not an official nation, but a loose organization of people from all factions, even Arania itself.
Chevaunts: The chevaunts are a group of people sworn to fight against the drunen for their use of dark magic, the chevaunts have no nation, and are not allied with Arania. They do however, fight with anyone who is against drune. Most Gypsies are classified as Chevaunts.

Ranks:
recruit: a young man/woman, just enlisted into their faction's army. They are unskilled but have unlimited potential to expand 1HP/1MP(mainly NPc's)
soldier: more trained soldiers, they have found what their aptitude is for, and train in it. 2hp/2Mp(anyone can start at this rank)
Captain: a basic leader, one who is an expert in their field. they can be formidable foes.3HP/3MP(you can start at this rank if you can show me proof that you are in an intermediate RP or higher)
lieutennant: A skilled leader, and an authority in the lore of their field. they command many, and answer to few.4HP/4MP(you can start at this rank if you can show me proof that you are in an advanced RP)
General: A trained leader, they are the top of command, and make the decisions for thier armies. They have worked hard to get where they are and are nearly unparallelled in skill.5HP/5MP(NPC bosses only, no PC's)
*note* your character shall remain the same rank unless there is a notable improvement in your RP abilities
Classes:
Warrior: your basic soldier, they fight with swords, axes and bows. they have lightning quick reflexes, and their batle instincts are great. +2HP/-1MP
paladin: A soldier who also uses magic, most calanians are paladins. they are not as skilled with weapons as soldiers, nor as skilled in magic as mages. +2HP/+2MP
Mage: one who solely uses magic, these people can control the elements (water, wind, earth, fire) they train in every aspect of their favorite element, and know how to use it defensively and offensively. +0HP/+4MP
healer: These type of mages use white magic to heal wounded soldiers. They can also create magical shields to protect those important to them.+1HP/+3MP
Dancer: mostly performers, dancers can often be used as spies, as they can get acess to areas many others cannot. when forced to fight, they are graceful and unpredictable in their movements.+1HP/+1MP
Dark mage: dark mages use mostly summoning magic and rely on their monsters to do the fighting. they often run away once they have summoned a monter, and can be difficult to kill.+0HP/+4MP
Elemental: Only eight Elementals exist, Fire, water, earth, wind, light, dark,space and time.They are people who have natural magical abilities corresponding with their element. At the beginning of this tale, only three have been discovered. It is said that if all eight joined together, they would have the power to utterly destroy the world, or completely rid it of evil. +5HP/+5MP (No MP spent for Elemental Abilities)

Aranians: Gaia name: Sycro Character name: Rickon Stark Age: 19 Faction: Calan Affiliation: Arania Rank: Soldier Class: Paladin Appearance: Rickon is a young man of a sturdy build standing a little over 6ft and below 200lb. His hair is a dark shade of brown and cropped short. His eyes seem best described as a dull blue. He looks every bit a soldier and the markings across his armor denote him as a Paladin in the Calanian military. He carries a longsword and a shield with the depiction of a gray fox on white background (his family symbol). Short history: Stark comes from a house of military tradition. His family has served in the Calanian military throughout past generations and it gives him pride to be amongst his forefathers in the ranks. Nothing is given in his family without it being earned so when he joined up there were no favors to help him rise in the ranks, but since he did show some potential in magic he went through paladin training in addition to his basic training to achieve the rank of soldier. Main Skills: Magic enhanced attacks, Defense maneuvers. Main weakness: Lacks magical endurance (spells last for a short duration) HP/MP: 4/4

Chevaunts: Gaia name:Scouter kai Character name:Kai Nakamura Age:19 Faction:Arania Affiliation:Chevaunt Rank:Lieutenant Class: Water Elemental Appearance:  Short history: Kai was originally the Aranian king's advisor for magic. after an incedent involving gypsies, He accidentally Sparked the war that created the faction known as drune. Feeling sorry for what he had done, and wanting to get rid of drune, he created the chevaunts, and is their de-facto leader and strongest member. Main Skills:Water magic (specifically Ice), earth magic (specifically plants) Extremely proficient with a sword. Main weakness: Is unable to be healed by magical means. He has to take time to heal from injuries. HP/MP: 9HP/9MP

Preliminary battle system. v.2 *each character rolls one D10 (10 sided die) And posts their starting action. *Character with highest Dice roll wins the round. *Once the round has been decided, it can be Rped out. *If the person who wins the round is the second poster, his/her last post for round 1 hould also be the first post for round 2. *Make sure to note your HP/MP at the bottom of each post during the battle. *If you wish to cast a spell during your turn, you must spend MP(Amount depends on spell) EX: -Player A rolls a 5, posts "Player A pulled out his sword and charged at Player B" -Player B rolls a 7, posts "Player B Raised his dagger defensively" --Player B wins, and now the fight can be RP'ed, so player A posts; -"Player A's sword got knocked out of the way, but continued towards Player B" -Player B posts "After Player A's sword flew out of the way, Player B stabbed him in the chest with his Dagger. -Round 2 begins with the winner of the previous round going first. First player out of HP loses the fight. An example of this system's use can be found Here

Announcements, ETC: Thursday, August 16th-started Saturday, August 18th-put in intermediate zone ^.^ Sunday, August 19th-Story re-vamped, Battle system and HP/MP system added. Monday, august 20th- battle system tested and updated.
