About: Well one day i was thinking and realized that there should be a more specific way of levelling someone's rp status. Levels and descriptions (1c is the lowest and 3 is the highest): 1C: Your totally new at rp'ing your grammar is that of a 9 year old you spell politics with a K. 1B: Yay! You've now learnt the very basics of rp'ing but still have problems with grammar but you use ** that for actions. 1A: Great your on your way to awesomeness! You've stopped using ** but your not very good at describing and you need to work on that and your actions are limited to "he hides in the shadows. he waits." 2C: Wooohoo for you! You now know how to write in connective sentences for your actions and your descriptions and depth of things have improved! 2B: Your nearly there for a level 3 advanced but it's just out of your reach, your missing that one rung in your ladder, your action, speech, descriptions are near flowing from one to another and are easier to read. 2A: Your actions, speech, actions flow like a river it is organized your, spelling is up to date and your grammar is at the peak!
The GODLY LEVEL 3: EVERY POST YOU MAKE IS A SMALL STORY IT'S SO ENJOYABLE TO READ THAT ALOT OF PEOPLE WILL SEARCH FOR THE RP YOU HAVE JOINED JUST TO READ THOSE LITTLE MINI-STORIES.
Ok people this is a self rating system so be honest with yourself. NO THIS TOPIC WAS MADE SOLELY FOR MY OWN INTREST AND I'M IN NO WAY AFFILIATED TO SDRP OTHER THAN THE RP'S I MAKE AND THE REPLIES I POST.
COMMENT PLEASE
My Rating: 2B

Hmm.. Interesting idea... I'm never sure if I'm any inparticular thing, but I'm guessing that I'm between 2b and 2a. Just a guess since I am never sure about my own work, often feeling it isn't good enough.

I like it, as long as it doesn't become an excuse to burn noobs. It would be great to see who might could use a little extra advice. I'm probably 2B myself

Interesting scale. Did you intentionally skew the amount of description given to weaknesses towards the lower end of the scale because people at that end want to know specifically how to improve, rather than general things like "more description"?
I'd put myself at somewhere between a 2B and 2C, but I don't know if I can really give a fair evaluation of my own abilities... That's the only flaw I can see in it - that it's intended for self-rating. It can be hard to pinpoint your own strengths and weaknesses.
But I like how you didn't just give stage 1, stage 2, stage 3 - you have progression in relatively small, easily manageable amounts. It's quite easy to see how you can raise your game to get from, say, 1A to 2C. Although I find level 3 to be a little fuzzy in its description, it is something I can recognise in other people's posts. ^u^ ||||||||||||||||

I'd place myself between 2B and 2C, occasionally dipping into a 1A, depending on how much time I have available.
And, uh, you've got some grammar issues in your scale. I couldn't help but say it. The 2A description is one instance.

I'ma have to say the same thing as Rayne, frankly.
You know you have something going for you, though, when your hobby is writing stories.

I really find your idea to be a bit short sighted. You refer to a Rank two roleplayer as an advanced Roleplayer. When in reality anything below a rank two is a person void of intelligent thought. Your description of a 1a roleplayer is someone that is only capable of coming up with a couple of sentences. This isn't advanced in any way shape or form.
Advanced- 1. In advance; in front; forward 2. Ahead of others; above an elementary level; as to have advanced ideas; to study advanced science. 3. Far along in years or progress; as, a man of advanced age; a disease in an advanced stage.
I wrote down this definition to prove a point. The ranks 2a and 3 would fall into the category of advanced. 2b describes your standard roleplayer that knows what they are doing. Most threads can't survive without someone at least fairly skilled participating in the roleplay. 2c describes a below average Rolplayer. At this point you know what you are doing to an extent but there is still work to be done.
Anything below a Rank two can be described as Illiterate or just plain lazy. Anyone that meets the age requirement for Gaia should be able to type in full sentences with at least some detail.

I LOVE this idea, but I think there is a little more you could do. In my opinion, it should not be a 'self-rate.' I believe that it would be much more effective to do something such as, have a person post a sample of their writing(just copy and paste a post of theirs from a different RP, or copy the link in, or even make a new one post.) Afterwards, people read it, review it, give constructive criticism and rate what they believe the role player should receive. Maybe the person could also say what level they think that they are at as well.
Just some ideas...

I do think it is an interesting idea as well. It helps to recognize the different rpers so you can get a wide variety into your rps. And I agree with Ishbosh about having others figure out the level you are at. It just might need some more thought as to how the levels work.
1. You are a beggining roleplayer and understand the basics. But you usually follow the story more than add to it. 2. You have been roleplaying for sometime and are good at keeping the story going. 3. You have been roleplaying for a very long time and tend to be one of those who leads the story.
Just some ideas. ^_^ Of course I know that for some people it depends on the day, the topic, and the other rpers what level they rp at. At least I do. ninja
