under Broome bridge has been vandalised. It looks horrible now. Hopefully they'll clean it up.

You had pluses instead of equal signs for the first two equalities.

EXACTLY! I wanna be able to walk through alleys at night and read about non commutating complex numbers. I don't wanna read about having a great time if I call some random mobile number, or how Billy <3s Sinead.

Yeah, the algebra you get out of that set of equations isn't nearly as interesting, as it's not a division algebra. Plus, if you set any of the squares equal to one and the others to -1, you get a rather boring commutative algebra as well.

Heh, I once naively took out a book on quaternions from our library. I was looking for stuff on matrix representation and got a book on division rings instead. Hooray.
