What game genre's do you think they make way too much of? Is there a particular one that you are starting to get tired of seeing again and again?
For me it would have to be FPS. They in my opinion are making WAY too many. Look how many games coming out soon are?

I would say, however, that shooters are starting to go beyond simple FPS. Take Star Wars Battlefront, Gears of War, and Halo. While they are all FPS/TPS, there is a lot of difference in each to make it a different shooter. Then I'd like to add Rainbow Six Vegas, as that requires more than just shooting s**t. Yes, everyone and their mother is trying to get a good FPS out to kill Halo or tap into that fan base, but at least we have seen SOME innovation. Personally, and this may already be gone for the most part, but turn-based RPG. I know that this isn't really popular anymore, but games today are really pretty, and making them turn based slows them down SOOOOOOOOOOOO much...The very reason why I would never be ale to sit through FFX. RPGs = good idea. Action RPGs = BETTER idea. EDIT: Sorry that that ended up kinda in the wrong thread, but this one is very alike the "game genre's that need to die."

The racing genre. Games that are your generic racer and really have no pizazz to them.
Gran Turismo, Need For Speed, Motorstorm.
I love racers, and thank god Need For Speed included the Pursuit idea, but I mean, come on, there's too many of j00!

Shooters, First-person or third. There are too many being made, the 360 is a good example, I'd say it's top anticipated games are all shooters, which sucks. I mean, even the Wii is doing a lot better in variety and the PS3 is doing a little better. But, Bioshock, Halo, Mass Effect,(of course, Mass Effect is also an RPG) Though RPG's are being made more again so... It's starting to be between them. But seriously, I can only stand seeing a gun in the lower-right corner or staring at some guys back for so long.

I agree with Crimson that the 360 has a lot of shooters. I can't believe how many illiterates stereotyped the 360 that way in the sticky.

My limit is really close as I'm getting tired of hearing about them all the time as if they are the #1 game genre ever.... I still enjoy playing them I'm just getting tired of seeing so many of them and seeing constant discussions about them... gonk
