THIS IS ALOT OF READING BUT PLEASE READ IT AND GIVE ME FEEDBACK I NEEDS IT!!!

So, Gaia came out with the zodiac items I think last month...I like the mask of gemini so much (go figure xP ) that I decided to create an avatar and even a character around it. out of the avatar came the idea for the character, out of the character came the idea for a story/world.

The white half represents good, control, self restraint, pureness, serentiy...pretty much everything you'd expect from a calm, collected warrior who knows what he's doing.

The grey half represents evil, malice, hatred, strength, brute force and every thing you'd expect from an evil genius who's slightly insane

Together they gain the benefits from both sides, strength and brute force matched with calmness and self restraint, hatred redirected towards evil in a more "I protect what is good" way.

anyways here are the avatars I came up with based on the two halves...still working on one for the mask as a whole

let me know what you guys think... I'm also developing a story based on this idea (the idea that gaia used behind their zodiac item...an item for each symol), don't have a name for it yet:




In this world of ours, there are 12 ancient artifacts, each one based on a symbol in the western zodiac. Each artifact, when used properly, gives the bearer certain abilities. And although sentient (some more so than others), the artifacts cannot act on their own. The relationship that the bearer shares with his artifact and the strength of that relationship determines the bearer’s ability to manipulate the elemental property of each artifact.
Each of the artifacts are as listed:

Aries -

Taurus – The Horns of Taurus: This artifact greatly increases the bearer’s strength and stamina to a superhuman level, allowing him to lift objects that twenty men would have a hard time lifting, and enduring things that even the toughest men alive would cry about. The element associated with the horns of Taurus is earth. The horns allow the user to offensively use the earth element depending on the bearer’s relationshp with the artifact.

Gemini – The Mask of Gemini: Two halves create a whole, one half evil, one half good. Depending on the nature of the one who possesses the mask it will manifest in either a half plain white or gray mask with one hole for the eye. Also gifts the bearer with abilities of the wind, depending on his relationship with the artifact the powers may be strong or minute. The element of the mask is wind, this being said the mask greatly increases the speed of the wearer.

Cancer – The Gauntlets of Cancer:

Leo -

Scorpio – Sting of Scorpio: sword, that can break apart into a whip (effects remain to be though of yet)

Sagittarius -

Capricorn -

Aquarius -

BEFORE YOU CRITICIZE
I have shared this idea with a few friends and one of them said that "its a rip off of saint saya (knights of the zodiac)"..so I did some research and while it does have a few similarities it is not the same at all. Saint Saya uses the eastern(chinese) zodiac and the characters manipulate molecules according to their sign or something like that..they don't use artifacts or items.

Its sort of like bits and pieces of saint saya mixed with bits and pieces of bleach with original ideas intermingled.

anyways the main idea behind this thread is this: I need ideas for each of the artifacts...I'm thinking of having it so each artifact (with the exception of one or two) can be ONLY offensive, defensive or passive(healing and such)

there are those that are obviously offensive (taurus, scorpio, saggitarius) and those that are obviously defensive or passive ( virgo, aquarius, pisces)

also I'm using this page as a reference for the elements associated with each artifact, there's a graph about half way down.

Hmm...it's a very interesting idea . If you ask me I would say Aries can be a shield or a hammer and Sagittarius a bow ( kind of an obvious choice but it works i guess xp ) Libra can be a chain mail shirt or something like that.

Sounds like an interesting story. I like the artifact idea and the main character's light half, but the dark half looks like it needs some work. Keep going with it!

I could find some way to incorporate that...it would be like an artifact that isn't known about or mentioned in the texts found when the artifacts are initially found

Just so you know, you put Leo twice. Anyway, I can help with giving some ideas, if you want. (I'm good at that.)

Leo - Nemean Necklace (of Leo): grants the bearer the powerful roar of Leo which can destroy almost anything in its path.

Pisces - Bands of Pisces: grants the bearer the power of illusion and the ability to strengthen himself by combining his power with that of another.

Aries - Shield of Aries: an indestructable shield that can deflect any attack.

Sagittarius - Bow of Sagittarius: a magical bow that never runs out of arrows.

These are just some ideas I had. I tried to make the abilities somewhat reflect the myths surrounding the constellations. Though the Shield of Aries is completely made up.
