With the driving force of wanting to get home, it only took Sekizen a day and a half. On the way out, he had been trudging, not sure about whether he should really be leaving. He was sure, though, that this was where he belonged.

Sekizen couldn't believe that not so long ago, he had been swooning over a goddess. Sure, it would still be nice to meet her again, but he wasn't as insane about her as he had been before he met this female. Malika seemed to have broken through his barriers, and he was becoming quite fond of the female. He never saw her with a down attitude.

Above that, she saw through him, which ceaselessly amazed him. He didn't think it possible, and nothing that he had tried while they were travelling had made it change. He simply couldn't fathom it.

"We're getting close now," Sekizen said happily. "The borders are just over there, and beyond them is Pride Rock, the big landmark of the territory," he explained. "You'll love it there, everyone's nice. Willing to share meals... so on."

The pale green marked lioness followed the lighting marked male with happy demure. She rather enjoyed his company and the conversations she had with him. It often brought back the pleasant memories she held.

Malika felt rather comfortable around him, a feeling she hadn't really felt around anyone in a while. It was a nice feeling. She also felt she could trust him, which meant a lot to her, ever since Nyek happened.

The female was lost in thought when he spoke to her. "Hm?" She blinked twice and looked over at him. "I can't wait to see the lands, it sounds like such a wonderful place." She told him with a nod. She was extremely excited to see pridelands, especially since it sounded so warm and inviting. It sounded like a place that would help her get rid of her horrible memories. "You'll show me around right?"

Sekizen continued to pad on. "Oh, yes, I'll show you around the place!" He stopped all tracks of thinking wondering where she'd stay... Mom would probably find it weird that he was bringing home a female... He pondered this for a while. No, she couldn't stay at his den. There were plenty of places in the Pridelands, he was sure she'd be able to stay up somewhere.

"You'll love it," he said again. He had missed his home. They stepped over the boundary and a certain thrill went through him. He was home. A shiver went down his spine as the pair continued on.

Malika felt relieved when he said he would show her around. "Great, I'd probably get lost if I tried to look around myself..." She replied with a smile. That was the one thing she was nervous about out of everything, the fact that she might get lost. She didn't like being lost.

A place to stay within the pridelands hadn't even crossed her thoughts. She was to excited to let it. "I hope so..." She responded in a soft tone. Malika really wanted to love it, she just did. "Do you know many within the pridelands?" She inquired with a slight tilt of her head as she padded behind him.

Ah, yes. That question was bound to pop up eventually, Sekizen thought to himself. Though he knew plenty of lions and other pride members who weren't lions, he didn't consider anyone a close friend, nor did anyone consider him as such. Sure, his family, but besides them. "Yes, I know lots of Pride members. Not all of them, but a lot." This wasn't a lie, he had met lots of them. "I just... I'm not real close with anyone. As a cub, I spent more time to myself than I did with others," She'd know that about him eventually. He found it awkward to say, nonetheless. "I don't have any enemies, but... Not many friends," he confided.

Malika nodded listening to everything he said before even replying once. "Well you have a friend now for sure." She told him with a smile. "Me." The female definitely considered the male her friend, she couldn't not consider him such. Not after all the time they had spent together on the way to the pridelands.

"I hope that you consider me a friend as I consider you one." She stated trotting just a little faster to walk beside him.

"Yeah!" he smiled at her. He did have a friend now, a real friend. One who he'd enjoy hanging out with, and planning days together... That thought didn't occur to him until she brought it up. "Yeah, I'd definitely consider you a friend." He gave her a huge smile as he continued walking, slowing down a bit so she wouldn't have to hurry so much.

"Good." Malika replied to him cheerfully as she caught up. She flicked her tail behind her as she returned his smile. "You're the first friend I've had in a while." She admitted to him. It was true, she really only had one other true friend than the male beside her and it felt good to make another one.

"I've asked you so many questions lately....Is there anything you want to ask me?" The lioness inquired.

Questions? Sekizen thought. He'd had one the other day, but apparently he had forgotten it. The male slowed even more as he thought. "How do you like the Pridelands?" He asked, even though they were just now at the boundary. "And where have you lived before?" He knew digging up the past would probably cause painful memories, but the way Seki saw it, she needed to get them out of her. She didn't have walls like he did- she couldn't just dispose of her emotions. Or could she? He wasn't quite sure, but he wanted to know about her past too, as much as she would be willing to share.

"You don't have to tell me if you don't want, just wondering," he added, hoping that would ease any tension he put on her.

"....." At first she didn't say anything in reply. She wasn't sure how exactly to reply, she wasn't sure if she wanted to tell him...She was scared. Scared of the memories that would come flooding back but....most of all she feared he would reject her. She knew she had to tell him, if she didn't then...

"I lived in the jungle for a while then I met a salmon striped lion. He promised me that if I followed him he'd give me a home. Or a place I could call home. I followed him, along with another lioness." Malika paused trying to keep her voice steady. She swallowed dryly before continuing. "He took me to an oasis, in the middle of the desert.....That's where I lived for most of my life....it wasn't until we came upon his dead body did I leave the oasis. I didn't mean to bolt off like I did but.....everything I had been told had been true. Everything I believed in turned out to be false...." Her voice broke and she couldn't say anything more.

Sekizen knew that that would be a hard topic for her, somehow he did. Something had seemed to pain her. Though, he was proud of her- she managed to tell a lot before she couldn't handle it anymore. He raced ahead of her, turned himself perpendicular to her to stop her, but then slid his head to on her shoulder. What he was doing, he wasn't sure. Sekizen blamed it on his tearing-down of his walls for her. She could see around them anyway, so he had stopped trying to hide himself altogether.

He'd felt strange since he'd done that, and he still had his walls for everyone else, but this was definitely the strangest he'd felt in his life. "I'm sorry," he said, eyes closed. His words were spoken softly. He really hoped he hadn't scared her- hoped he wasn't scaring her more now.

His touch felt rather nice, especially the way he did it. It was...reassuring. "You have nothing to be sorry about...you didn't do anything wrong." She mumbled closing her eyes and leaning her head lightly against his own. "Thank you...." Malika whispered softly. "For everything. Everything..."

There was so much more that she wanted to say but she couldn't find the words to and she didn't want to ruin the moment, it was far to precious to.

Sekizen let out a sigh of relief. He was glad he wasn't making things worse. He let loose a little more, pushed his head a little further onto her back before pulling away. He looked into her eyes and smiled, wondering what she was thankful to him for. He hadn't really done that much for her... had he?

What he had just done hadn't completely sunk in yet- he didn't quite yet fully realize what he had just insinuated... But he would deal with that later.

Maybe this was his chance to "move out." He was old enough, he thought. Strong enough, smart enough. The Pridelands were big, he could easily find a place for himself in a night.

Malika smiled back at him. It felt great to get some of the things bothering her off her chest and out into the open. Still so much had been left unsaid and she knew that one day she'd have to tell him everything. Not because he forced her to but because she wanted to.

He was the first person she could really open up to since that incident not too long ago. The one that had hurt her so deeply.

"Will you stay with me?"She asked softly.

He wondered again, quickly, how it was she read his mind... again! It didn't anger him, but it did amaze him that she could.

"Yeah, I'll stay with you," Sekizen said, quickly running through his mind various places that they could stay... He imagined the rocky overhang in one area- or the abandoned den in another... He wasn't sure what kind of shelter she preferred.

"I'm not entirely sure, though, where exactly would be a good place," Sekizen admitted. "There are too many," he added with a smile.
