Activation - While on the World Map (with nothing loading) open up your PS2's tray and remove the disc. Now close the tray and wait a few seconds and you should be able to move again. Do NOT do anything that forces the game to load such as battles or trying to open the menu because the game will freeze (you can unfreeze it by reinserting the disc). Anyway the little map in the corner should still be up once you can move again so now you're free to walk anywhere on the world map you want. Use the map to tell where you are (you won't be able to see most of the world map except for the parts that initially were loaded, mostly you'll be walking on sky) and when you get to your destination just open the tray back up and reinsert the disc and close the tray and the game should be back to normal. Make sure you're not in mountains or on the ocean when you reinsert the disc because you will be stuck.
Why is this useful? This trick allows you to go to cities and places before you're supposed to, thus giving you a good range of things you can do before you even enter Engeve for the first time. Some common things people do are go to the Casino, get the Vorpal Sword on Mt. Roneal, and make anything they want at Din's Shop. You also have access to shops in all the towns you can access.
The Vorpal Sword is Incredibly useful because you basically destroy enemies in a few hits.
-Vorpal Sword-
Description A magic sword with an indigo shine. Stat Boosts P. ATK 630 A. ATR Water
Location: Well, You know when Your trying to get the I believe it is "Greater Flight Stone" And you have to enter Mt. Roneal in another path to do so, Well, The Vorpal Sword is right next to the entrance all you have to do is go around the lake enter from the other side where it leads you and, just walk into the frozen lake and, get the sword. WARNING: The enemies there can and, would destroy you in battle depending on your level. I was around Lvl. Ten when doing this thus, I only Inflicted One Damage Point on them, Try to avoid them at all cost. After getting the sword, use the world map glitch to get yourself back to where ever you were, I started inflicting a good 600-700 when I first fought Arietta and, her Pets at the Choral Castle, I was able to beat her in Ten Seconds.

I believe you can use that glitch to keep Asch in your party as well. Oh, and I beat Arietta at around level twenty on Hard mode. Trust me, it wasn't easy; she could use Big Bang; which almost always killed all my characters. But I beat her!

I did the map glitch to get the flightstones when the Albiore was unable to fly.
I also used it to go work at Keterburg and earn money by working in the hotel.
And I used it to find many items around so I could make weapons and stuff at Din's store.

Yes, the Asch glitch works but dont do it because it'll completely mess it up! Not the glitchy way but the other way as in you'll lose luke and it just isnt right!

Though you can switch back to Luke and Asch in between 3 times. If you are Asch already just go back to Mushroom Road and talk to Luke. And if you want Asch again you just keep going back to Mushroom Road until he shows up. You can only do this up to 3 times. BEWARE: Once you enter Eldrant who ever is in your party is pemament. Once you have stepped in Eldrant the Mushroom Road event would have closed and you're stuck with whoever is there. FURTHER BEWARE: If you finish the game with Asch then once you start the new game+ there will be no one in your party and once the battle against the training dummy starts, the game will hang.
Or so I've heard. -____-;;

Is there a clip of how to find the sword? I tried the glitch, but I ended up lost around the Mt. Roneal area.
