 Malaika couldn't stop smiling as she lay there staring at her swollen belly. When she had first started to get a bit bigger, and found herself wanting to eat more, she just assumed that she was going through some sort of phase. It was only when a random Pride Lander spotted her walking one day and said congratulations that she realised she was pregnant.
Still smiling, she glanced towards Kimba, who looked a lot more worried about the whole situation than what she herself did. "I can't wait for it to happen Kimba. I wonder how many there'll be?" She sounded as if giving birth was going to be the best experience in the world, despite having been told by other lionesses that it will hurt like hell. Her mother had always said that giving birth to her and her siblings was the best day of her life, and Malaika truely believe that.

The male nodded softly.
It had been a real shock to the lions system when he learned his best friend was pregnant...it didn't seem that long ago when he realised he loved her and he hoped with all his heart he hadn't hurt her in the process of...well...making her so swollen!
He smiled at the honey coloured female before nuzzling his cheek against hers.
"Hopefully not too many that it'll hurt you that much." He said honestly, looking over the swollen belly of his friend and mate, still hard to believe she had his cubs inside her!

Malaika let out a gentle laugh. "You worry too much." The golden female had really come out of herself ever since she and Kimba had discovered the feelings they shared for one another. Before meeting Kimba, she thought she was destined to look after her younger siblings, then live the rest of her life alone.
"I still can't believe this is happening." Smiling, she nuzzled back against her mate. She wondered if she would have a son or a daughter, or both! All she knew was that she would love her offspring more than anything else in the whole world, and that she and Kimba would spend the rest of their lives together raising their offspring.
With all these happy thoughts in her head, she barely even noticed when things started to happen. "Oh!" She jerked in surprise. "Oh oh, Kimba! It's happening!" Malaika winced in pain as her body set everything in motion. Her very first cub would be born soon!

Kimba was taken completely by suprise and jumped slightly, purple eyes wide in shock as the labour pains began and he stood back slightly.
He'd been told by his father, that females, no matter how sweet and gentle, could become snarling beasts when giving birth so it was wise to give them some space.
He did however, move so he lay against her back, his chin laying against her shoulder as he offered her as much comfort as he could.

Malaika forced her head back against Kimba's shoulder, taking as much comfort and strength from him as she possibly could. It hurt so much! She continued to wince in pain, bearing her teeth as she did so. Despite the pain however, Malaika just wasn't the type to let out a vicious snarl, even though that's what she felt like doing.
After a good few minutes of agony, lots of heavy breathing and much pushing, Malaika and Kimba's first cub was born. It was a girl! "Oh Kimba!" The golden lioness, still possessing a lot of strength having only birthed one cub, immediatly leaned over to pick up the dark female and place her by her stomach so that she could clean her as well as provide her with milk. "She's so beautiful." She smiled, as she looked down at her very first cub.
Her coat was the same colour as Kimba's, yet her paws and tail were the same colour as Malaika's coat. She also had Malaika's markings in that same golden colour. A perfect little mix of both parents.

The tiny bundle of fur was mewing softly now as it struggled to find warmth against it’s mother. She knew nothing of this world yet cried for life. Her tiny golden paws pushed forward as she nuzzled herself into her mother coat, crying softly. She didn’t cry in sorrow, no, she simply didn’t understand what was going on.

The males eyes, were wide in shock as he saw the tiny bundle of living fur...his own flesh and blood and he smiled, a grin that split his maw in half from cheek to cheek before he looked at Malaika and licked over her face lovingly.
"She's as beautiful as her mother...you're doing so well, Malaika."

Malaika would've been content to sit and watch her new daughter al day, but she still had a job to do. There was still more little bundles of joy to come out! As the stabbing pains started up again, the golden lioness growled through gritted teeth. This one felt ever-so slightly bigger than the first one, so it took that little bit more effort to get it out.
Finally, a tiny golden cub emerged. Smiling, Malaika leaned in to get a closer look, before picking the cub up and placing it by its sister. "It's a boy Kimba." She looked lovingly towards her mate. How could this get anymore perfect? They had a daughter and a son now. The boy had his mother's golden coat and white markings, and his father's white paws and striped tail. Another perfect little mix of both parents.
The male cub squirmed and wriggled beside his sister, seemingly eager to test out every part of his body. He seemed to be testing his voice box too, as he was mewing almost constantly until he found his mother's milk.

Kimba's heart swelled with joy as another of his children entered the world, smiling lovingly as he looked down at them from where he lay and licked over Malaika's maw lovingly.
His deep purple eyes radiated so much happiness and so much comfort for her, she was doing so well and she was beingso strong through all of this...it made him so proud.
And he watched the two squirming balls of slightly wet fur, cocking his head to the side as he looked at them.
"He has your coat."

"He'll grow up so handsome, just like his father." She beamed, returning a couple of licks of her own to Kimba's cheek. Malaika felt quite drained at this point, causing her to breifly think back to her mother. She had given birth to so many cubs, she must've been so very strong to manage. She didn't have much time to think though, as another cub was trying to force its way out.
Malaika gasped and took in a deep breath so that she could push. Soon after, another dark bundle of fur had joined them. The golden lioness smiled happily and leaned over to put their third cub with the other two. "Another girl Kimba." She let out a long content sigh. Her insides felt somewhat empty at that point, so she assumed that the dark girl with the pretty white paws was the last one.
"I think that's it." She looked up towards Kimba, tears of joy welling in her silvery eyes, causing them to glimmer. She soon turned back to the cubs, who were all snuggled up together against her tummy. "This is a dream come true." She whispered, letting out another sigh on contentment.

The little female let out a loud yowl as she entered the world, blind, cold and hungry, wriggling slightly against her sibling as she found the nearest n****e she could before feeding.
This world was strange and loud...but atleast this big warm thing had food!
Kimba beamed so brightly, smiling at all three of his children before he looked at his beautiful mate and nuzzled against her.
He was so happy, happier than he'd ever been in his life and he lay his head on her side as he watched their cubs.
"They're all so beautiful..." He said happily, smiling and he lay there.
"If this is a dream, I don't ever want to wake up."

Malaika purred deeply as she nuzzled back into Kimba. She could relax now, so she motioned for Kimba to lie down beside her so that she could rest her head on him. Smiling, she could barely take her eyes off their new family. She couldn't wait to show her father, or her siblings, or Kimba's family. She was sure everyone would be proud.
Almost glowing with joy, she nodded at Kimba's words, before licking each cub in turn, making sure that all three were nice and clean. All of them seemed healthy, which was a blessing in itself. "I love you all so much." She whispered as she continued licking the cubs.
