I'm really into Steampunk, even though there isn't a lot out there to be interested in. Basically, China Mieville's books and the movies Wild Wild West and League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. crying I've been meaning to create a steampunk avatar for a while now, but just couldn't seem to get it right. Today, however, my muse (lovely b***h that she is) bashed me about the head and shoulders with a zeppelin, and thus I created the delightfully anachronistic avatar you see here.
So what I'm wondering is, should I enter it in the arena? Is it awful? Do you think the world of Gaia has any clue what Steampunk is? Or do I actually have a fighting chance?
Also, discuss Steampunk and any media pertaining to it - I'm always looking for more sources. heart

Hmmm, overall I like it. Maybe look into other hats though, the full top hat doesn't quite seem right. But yeah, I've had a little exposure to the aanime side of steampunk, I'll try to remember the titles to recommend. I almost want to say Steamboy, but it's not quite there. Read or Die would probably count, though. If nothing else, use this list. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Steampunk

Hmm interesting. I think it's good, but you would have to describe it because lots of people would have no idea what you're talking about.

Basically, steampunk in the visual sense (anime and the like) is sort of old England, in the midst of the technological revolution. Lots of new and odd machines, usually powered by steam (steam powered mechanical legs and hair brush, and so on.) And of course, victorian outfits and the like. The movie, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen would be a good example, if you've seen it.

But I'm saying if she were to enter it in the arena, she would definitely have to describe it because most people wouldn't know what it was.

I like it but like it was said, the hat doesn't quite work. Perhaps the hat with goggles on it may work, I dunno. Just a suggestion. 3nodding

Oh no! She's fallen to into the dark crack of the couch cushions of life, and become a Botter!
