The Elegant Crowning
Fantasy/War RP

The Beautiful Start
As far as history is written, the northern lands of Guardia and Qori have lived peacefully together. Split into territories, both lands were not the same, though with similar practices. Guardia was an elegant land, with a ruling family and an economy that mirrored the advancement of technologies for housing and business. Qori, which was mainly run by family tribes, was more of a nomadic and rural area.
These northern lands were dominated by the powers of magic and other mystical forces in nature. The Guardia sought to control these forces, thus forming primitive "Black" and "White" magic. The Qori, on the other hand, lived with these forces, mysteriously calling forth creatures to assist with farming and daily chores, labeling this "nature's helping hand".
The control that Guardia sought led them to conquest their Northern lands, taking territory over territory, until they even ruled the Qorian people, enslaving many and putting all people from Qori at the bottom of the social ladder for centuries to come.

Within Guardia, the current King, Gaznetto Espan, had to choose between one of his twin sons for the heir to the throne. The sons, Walz and Goznath who were trained in White magic and Black magic, respectively, had to show their father who the strongest and most capable to rule Guardia would be. This led to much fighting and deceit that left old King Espan choosing the youngest child who had always been at his side, Valdan Espan.
Although a sickly boy, Valdan was adept at all the magic that his father taught him. Gaznetto always kept Valdan out of the public eye, making secret Valdan's skills and life, which brought deep suspicion and hate to him from his older brothers.
This controversy forced Walz and Goznath to leave their father and create their own territories on Guardia, the Walz and Goznath territories, soon thereafter the Republics of Walz and Goznath.

As the new King of Guardia, Valdan sought to mend the ties with his older brothers, but to no avail. That was, until King Valdan uncovered his father's teachings, advancements in the fields of both Black and White magic. With this, Valdan could win back his brothers, but he cautioned himself on the brashness of his older siblings, training his own army in these advanced arts and forming academies for specifically teaching magic, and giving only the basics of his father's teachings to his brothers. Ages passed until Valdan's grandson, Riizo, would see the effects of his ancestors' teachings...

Beginning of the Walz-Goznath Conflict
The Conflict started when the ill King Riizo Espan's eldest son, Largo Espan, was killed.
For months, the Republics of Walz and Goznath were at each other's throats over the political power to rule the Northern Empire of Guardia. The Royal Family of Espan was quickly losing power, with two neighboring nations fighting over power within their alliance.
And then the tragedy of Largo's death consumed the alliance. No one dared blame the Empire of Deminik, an ocean away, but both Republics saw this as a tactic from the other to create distress and confusion, and to take over the Northern Empire through force.
The Republic of Walz was the first to amass their army towards the Guardia Palace, in hopes of stopping any attacks by the Goznath's army. Soon after, the Goznath sent their army towards the Guardia Palace.

And the Walz-Goznath Conflict began.

Many neighboring towns and cities to the Guardia Palace were becoming battlefields, victims of barbaric warfare. When swords and arrows did not win the battles, both Republics tapped into their Academies, using children and elder Mages to fight with magic. For the Guardia Palace of the Northern Empire, this was the last straw.
The Northern Empire of Guardia, with an army as big as both the Republics of Walz and Goznath, took the use of Mages as a slap to their face, for the Northern Empire of Guardia, original teachers of the ways of the Mages ages before the start of either Walz or Goznath, brought out their own Mages in an effort to silence the war any further.

The end of the war was brought after the introduction of Guardia Mages and their first few battles.
The Elegant Crowning
There was much rejoicing, as once the Walz-Goznath Conflict had finished, the time to crown the heir to King Espan's throne, the son Alexander Espan, had come. The Coronation was soon underway, with invitations sent out to the Officers, ambassadors,Academy students, dignitaries and nobles of those in Walz, Goznath, and Guardia. This was Guardia's way of hoping to mend past problems and to celebrate.
Yet, there was still no answer as to how and why Largo Espan was killed, but with the Coronation only 2 days away, would Alexander Espan be able to rule the Northern Empire, even without the training Largo underwent for that exact day? And would the tension between those from the Republics of Walz and Goznath overshadow an even deeper tension between the rightful heirarchy of the family Espan, a lineage clouded by Gaznetto Espan many years earlier?

The Story takes place 2 days before the Coronation of Alexander Espan, with all invitees either on their way to the Palace or arriving in Guardia.
The Academies are on holiday, and the Military gets leave, but Guardia Palace guards are on full alert.

The Nations Involved
Republic of Walz: This nation is centered around the use of White Magic and Weaponry. The latest item to come out being the flintlock (singleshot) ranged pistols, still an experimental weapon.
Republic of Goznath: This nation is centered around the use of Black Magic and enchantment. The latest item to come out being melee weapons with single elemental auras.
Northern Empire of Guardia: Originally named the Kingdom of Guardia, the Northern Empire of Guardia controls all of Walz and Goznath territories, and through an alliance and treaties, calls upon these territories in times of need, as linked by past brotherhood and relations. The Northern Empire of Guardia contains more advanced magic only taught to it's military Mages.
Qori Territory: Those from the Qori Territory are only known as servants, manual laborers, and even lower forms of occupations. Though some are still able to call forth creatures from nature, the risk is high and the consequence is death, as Qorians are only allowed to use magic when a superior official from Guardia deems it so.
Empire of Deminik: Those from the Empire of Deminik are ruthless, as they should be due to inability to learn any form of magic. This "handicap" has forced Deminik's military to conquer all lands and territory not owned by Guardia. Deminik is seen as a rival to Guardia, though it is said that those from Guardia do not see Deminik as a threat, where fighting inside of Guardia is civilized and political, and fighting inside of Deminik based on greed and will be the end of themselves. Though the Empire of Deminik sends students to Walz or Goznath Academies, those students usually fail their classes or must rely on wands.

Professions:
Guardia Mage (Soldier, Captain): Guardia Mages are the elite in their Magic abilities, only matched by their use of weapons.
Academy Student: An academy student is not as strong in their Magic abilities, meaning they must carry a wand as a Primary or Secondary weapon, in order to use any magic fluently. An academy student's magic type is based on their nationality.

Specialty Magic:
Ice Magic: Ice Magic that can be casted at will. Includes Ice Bolts, Ice Walls, Icestorms.
Fire Magic: Fire Magic that can be casted at will. Includes Fire Bolts, Fire Walls, Firestorms.
Wind Magic: Wind Magic that can be casted at will. Includes Thunder Bolts, Wind Manipulation, Thunderstorms.
Earth Magic: Earth Magic that can be casted at will. Includes Earth Spikes, Earth Manipulation, Earthquakes.
Healing Magic: Healing Magic that can be casted at will. Includes Health Restoration, Body Manipulation and Repairs.
Defensive Magic: Defensive Magic that can be casted at will. Includes Magic Barriers, Levitation, Reflection Spells.
- Guardia Training: Only one Specialty of the above list can be cast without use of a wand. Reserved for Guardia Mages.
Qori Summoning: Based upon their surroundings, the Summon ability creates creatures from any element/item that the Summoner wishes. Because of history, Qori Summoning is weak and the creatures summoned aren't of the best quality.
Soul Magic: Dark Magic that can be casted at the cost of a big chance of losing conciousness. User is able to drain or stunt target magic.
Geomancy: Nature Magic that can be casted only when in presence of Nature and outside forces. User can manipulate the environment around them if it's not manmade.

My Profile:
Quote:

Name: Roland "King" Zinfadiyl
Race: Human / Male
Age: 24
Nationality: Northern Empire of Guardia
Profession/Rank: Guardia Mage / Captain
Look - Please highlight areas: Roland's hair is gray, as all Guardia Mages soon experience after losing their rights as civillians to join the Northern Empire's army, and is cut short, but spiky, leaving his sideburns short down to the earlobes. His eyes, though they give an empty look, if searched emit a scarlet glow, another memento from his Mage training. His body build is that of an adult male's if they trained in the arts of taking pain through repetitive exercise, with muscles that rip at the skin, but bruises and scars over his torso and arms. Roland's clothing was nothing more than a deep, dark green duster coat, with red inner lining, a black cotton shirt, a pair of black, worn out slacks, and black, overused dress shoes, with visible scuff marks. An accessory that Roland carries is his Ruby ring, signifying his family heritage.
History: At the age of 17, which was the legal age for those with adept abilities in magic to be recruited into the Northern Empire of Guardia's army, Roland was taken from his family and trained to kill. Because the age for legally using Magic in public was 18, Roland spent the whole year to put his emotions aside to complete a mission.
A month before he turned 18, Roland killed his first person, in the training program that pit Guardia Soldiers against Qori Slaves. It was in this battle that Roland first used magic, the Summon spell, which brought forth a demon from the earth. Though the Qori people were known for their abilities to exclusively use the Summon spell, the anger which arose from Roland blinded him to the point that his summoned creature destroyed the Qori Slave and their own summoned creature.
Roland's training, as supervised by his superiors, did not go to the usual training of Black/White magic, but with more emphasis on his special ability to summon. Though no other Mage could be taught this type of magic, his special supervision was dropped, and what he thought of as a curse soon became a parlor trick among his fellow soldiers, giving him the nickname "King" for the number of creatures he could summon.
After 6 years, Roland has served the Northern Empire of Guardia in the Walz-Goznath Conflict, and is now done with his duties.
Due to his efforts in the Walz-Goznath Conflict, his invitation to the Guardia Palace was waiting for him on arrival to his barracks...
Personality: Though Roland is outgoing and easygoing, when it comes to his duty as a Guardia Mage, he becomes reserved and cold. Deep down inside, there's still some anger from his Qorian blood. This conflict also brings shame of being a Guardia Mage, in his subtle ways to hide his allegiance in public.
Weapons - 2 Maximum:
Primary - Guardia Captain's Sword, an ornate long sword with an inscription on the blade that absorbs magic if used by the properly trained.
Secondary - Guardia Mage's Wand, a short wand given to all Mages upon successful completion of their training. This wand allows for basic control in Black Magic, though specialization magics are not limited by this wand.
Specialty Magic - 2 Maximum(Magic Ability with: Profession Skill OR Another Magic Abilitiy):
Qori Summoning - Based upon their surroundings, the Summon ability creates creatures from any element/item that the Summoner wishes.
Fire Magic [Guardia Training] - Fire Magic that can be casted at will. With Guardia Training, Mages can throw bolts of fire without the use of wands.
Hope this works razz *crosses fingers*
