Anyone remember these pics? ;D These caused a big uproar around the site. We are not on this site to be some company's billboard.
This was called the media kit, wasn't it? Gaia took it down after all of the users complained about it.
Now, now we have a new item. We can all wear scion necklaces and look cool while advertising for them. ;D Brainwashing us, yes.
Is this a new generation of Gaians? Do we not care about being advertisements? Is the fact that it's a free item too tempting?
No one is forcing us to wear these items, but that does not mean that we won't see the items on the people who will wear them.
I don't know~ I like this new scion necklace. :3 I espeically like the free part. ;D And I always said that I liked the way the hat looked in that add... and I wouldn't mind walking around with a soda can. :3
I just wonder where everyone went who complained before. I don't see everyone in an uproar about this. Is it just because we're not being blatantly told that we're here just to be used as advertisements?

wow. i totally missed that one too.
pretty funny, now that you mention it, i too am wondering where those flamers went off to.
I guess they did get to distracted with the game and bought off with the free item.

but no...GCD and SF ruled over.
i like the necklace, i just find it too big. and it doesnt layer over with some items. i have this neko outfit that i wear with the blood, gambino, and helson pin. and this will be added to the bottom of the pins...it looks pretty neat
totally saving these pictures xd ah man.
wonder what the admins were saying when Gaia exploded about that find.
with the Battle System coming up. Gaia is REALLY going to need the funding
to keep that AND the site going. and they are straining their brains trying to come up with an idea that wont turn Gaians into a whining pool of beast.

Even though I have a four page essay due tomorrow and Ive only done two pages =D
I still have a few hours left its ok.

@bananarevo: No, it's not a real drink. This was part of an advertising scheme where Gaia was trying to attract investors to basically do... what's going on now with all of these Quests and such. If I remember correctly. ^^;;;
@Blaiz: Yus, shame on the oldbies who are not doing their job and complaining about changes! D<
@Bunai: Maybe we'll get the sodacan if Coke and Pepsi want to hold a war on a small internet site...

^^ I agree. I guess I don't mind these sponsorships as long as Gaia stays free. :3
Annnd... it's pretty hard to stop Gaians from turning into a whining pool of beast, but I think the admins are doing quite well at the moment. xD;;

I don't remember the adds at all but anyway I use to not play gaia much anywayz so w/e
gaia is a big advertisement now. Gracie. Nancy Drew. Scion. and all the adds around the site. Really I don't care because we get free stuff and tokyo cleans up in the market. >8] hehe!
come to think of it gaia does need money I mean all the mods they have its a lot to pay and they have to buy servers and stuff. I give gaia credit for still being free ^^

But yeah... it's going to take a looooong time before they're worth anything substantial.
They weren't quite ads. But yeah, I guess most people don't remember them or never heard of them. I'm not surprised though~

And Gaia is good about picking sponsors that they hope their users will like. Annd~ they say that they only use 20% of the page for ad space, or something like that. They could be making much more off of ads, but they keep them small so that it doesn't irritate the users too much. :3

I'll have to check that out too~~ i guess it varies. i dont have a lot of commons. but this sweater i have on (school sweater) layers over a lot of clothing, it is an old item, i guess they left the code where it was.
