Well, with a new day came new beginnings, and this bright green lioness was looking forward to that. She hadn't exactly been accepted into the pride just yet, but she was working on it, slowly. Of course, her being a nervous wreck didn't help anything, but that was something she'd just have to try to overcome.
Still, as early as it was, she had decided to go see Siltim's mother, Na'ilah. She wanted to talk to her, just the two of them. Sure, she would love to hear some juicy information about Siltim that only his mother knew, but it was also just to talk, lioness to lioness.
Seeing the familiar trees up ahead, she smiled and continued forward, her yellow eyes looking around for the dark green lioness.

Within the shades of the trees, Na'ilah had just finished giving one of her little cubs a bath and sent him on his way to his father. It was so nice to have her Siltim back again, she was beginning to worry too much about him and she didn't want to push him away again. Flicking her tail gently, she stretched out with a smile on her face. It wasn't long before her ears perked up and she caught a slightly familiar scent. While it wouldn't be long before she knew this scent by heart, she knew who it was. Chu'mana, the green lioness that Siltim had brought back home.
Lime green eyes shifted towards the grassy area around her before she spotted the familiar figure coming her way. Calling out a greeting, "Hello Chu'mana!"

The bright green lioness's smile widened and she hurried forward, seeing Na'ilah sitting under the trees in the shade. She didn't appear to have anyone around her right now, so that was a good thing.
"Hello, Na'ilah. How are you today? Doing well, I hope?"
So far, so good. She wasn't screwing up. That was a big plus for her, especially when she talked to others that she wanted to. Just wait until the hissing came into play... Oh yes.. That would be fun.

Watching the lioness make her way over, Na'ilah smiled warmly. It was nice to see her out and about, hopefully finding herself a home here with her son. Oh, her son...it made her happy and hopefully that they'd get together since they were so cute together, plus she'd get to tease him. Enough of that daydreaming, she nodded her head, "Oh yes, I am quite well. I have actually heard some news from my eldest daughter that I am a grandmother!"
If she could smile any brighter, she'd probably be as bright as the sun right now. "Are you doing well, Chu'mana? Settling in alright?" She raised an eyebrow, "Siltim shown you around?" She couldn't help but chuckle.

"Oh really? A grandmother? That'ssss wonderful newsss!" Chu'mana smiled brightly as well, just plain happy. She had never really had anyone to tell her such news. Of course, she had no blood relation to these upcoming cubs, but still, she felt quite ecstatic, as she may one day meet them and be called 'Aunt Chu'mana'. What a nice ring that had to it.
She shook the thought out of her head for now though, concentrating on what Na'ilah was talking about. "Oh. Sorry. Yesss, I am. I've sssseen the Queen, but I have to go back at a later time. Sssshe was sssort of bussy." Her tail twitched slightly behind her. "And not yet. Sssssiltim and I plan to meet up after I talk to the Queen ssssome more, and then go exploring."

Her tail flicked as the green lioness was content at the moment. Na'ilah was beaming as she nodded, "It is! I was very much hoping that my cubs would start families sometime soon...I was beginning to wonder if any of them were going to start any families!" She shook her head playfully.
"Yes, Queen Kami can get very busy...especially when she has nine cubs of her own to look after as well as visit the families here in the Pridelands and accept any newcomers." She definitely did not envy the queen in the least, having such a large litter as well as royal duties was a lot to handle. Though, she highly respected the queen for everything she's doing with the pride. "Siltim's not keeping up his end of the deal, huh?" She chuckled, "You'll definitely have an adventure, that's for sure. Siltim's not one to stay out of trouble."

The lioness couldn't help but to chuckle some. Na'ilah was surely right about that. Siltim had a bad knack for getting into trouble. Even when he wasn't trying to, he did. It was kind of funny, and just one of the many things about the green lion that Chu liked so much.
"Yesss. I can tell ssshe'ss quite bussy. I don't mind though. It'll give me time to exxplore the landsss and all. The funny thing iss.. They are.. Ssslightly familiar. I can't think of why though. Every sssincccee I left my old home to come here, I've forgotten so much. It'sss jusst.. It'ss like I remember this placce.. But I don't. It'sss confussing, I know."
Chu looked up at the sky for a moment, her yellow eyes watching the clouds. It was hard to believe the changes she had gone through. She had once been a prancing brown cub.. Then a heartless lime green snake.. And now a caring lime green lioness. So much change.... And within all a short amount of time, or so it seemed. Chu'mana wondered how she coped every now and then.

Ears perked up slightly as Chu'mana spoke to her. Na'ilah flicked her tail as she left a soft smile spread across her features. She tilted her head slightly to the side, though she was very curious. "Oh? Have you been here before? It wouldn't be surprising if you have been here before, since this area is so large." She nodded before continuing, "There is definitely much to see here, as well as many lions to converse with. The last I had heard, there were well over a hundred lions and families here, so you're bound to run into someone every day!" That much was true, as she's ran into so many lions and lionesses of every color and from every part of the plains, that it was amazing.
"It's still inviting here, welcoming everyone into their midsts who show a good heart."

Chu'mana looked back at Na'ilah and nodded, a small smile on her face. She couldn't remember if she had been from here or not.. But.. It was too familiar to not of been here before. The older green lioness was right. There were tons of lions here, all the time, and some of them had extraordinary colors in their pelts. Siltim and his family were part of that bunch, along with Chu'mana. Green definitely wasn't a common color among pelts.
"Yesss.. I know I'm invited here. I don't ssstick out too much, esspeccially when I'm with Ssssiltim. We've gotten a few commentsss from othersss wondering if we're sssiblingsss." Chu laughed some, her tail whipping behind her. "From my hissstory though, I know we're not."

With a soft giggle, Na'ilah hadn't really thought about that before. But if she looked hard enough between her son and Chu'mana, there some similarities between their colors. But, she would have not mistaken the two as siblings even though she was his mother. Her tail flicked slightly as she smiled, "I guess the similarities could make you siblings since we are the only family here that shares a green pelt I guess those that don't realize that you're a totally different lioness would make that assumption. But, I guess it would be heartening to know that others think of you as family here already!" She smiled inwardly, thinking about her son and Chu'mana. They got along quite nicely and she knew without a shadow of a doubt that he held feelings for her. Whether he tried to hide them or not, it wouldn't work on his mother!
Sighing softly, her green gaze looked towards the horizon, "Life wasn't always this pleasant and nice. My life before here was harsh, my family was cruel to me and my pride rejected me...and it was all because I was born with this pelt. A pelt of green. Once things had became too unbearable, I ran away in search of a place where I could live happily." She turned to look at Chu'mana, not knowing much about her past. While a lion's past makes up part of who they are, their future is even more important since things could be more upbeat and positive with the future. "I hope for my cubs to never go through the hardships that I have endured, and at the very least, that they are happy." She gave Chu'mana a warm smile.

Chu's ears perked up as the green lioness talked about her own past. She too had been through hardships because of her green pelt? Now Chu'mana was interested. Sure, she had met some creatures who had problems in life due to their nature or something silly like that. However, Siltim's mother, Na'ilah, was the first she had met who had a similar problem to her own.
"Your green pelt? If I may... What happened? You're the firsst I've really heard of to of had a problem with your pelt... Much like myssself. Pleassse... If you don't mind.. Go on."
The lime green lioness did nod and smile back at her. She knew what she meant. She didn't want her own cubs to go through hell and back, all because of the way they looked or because of her own past. If they did, Chu'mana promised herself that she would do anything to help them... Even risk her own well being. She figured that her life was worth it, especially if it helped to keep her cubs from being ridiculed by others.

Not at all minding about sharing her past, it was a part of Na'ilah that helped to shape her how she is today. While it wasn't pleasant and tried to forget, she instead came to terms with her past and once she did she could rest in peace. With a smile, she nodded her head. "It wasn't always easy to talk about my past because I was embarrassed about it or ashamed that I didn't have a loving family that most lions had. But once I got past all that, I came to terms with what had happened and moved on." She shook her head, "I surely don't mind, it's something that I wouldn't mind sharing with you since you're here with our family it only seems fit that you should know as well."
The green lioness paused a bit to recollect her thoughts before she continued, "My former pride was filled with plenty of lions, though it could never rival the numbers here in the Pridelands. With all the lions there, each had a pelt of natural colors...all black pelts or all white pelts were highly prized and as such, lions with those pelt colors were pushed into important positions. Now, if you were unfortunate to be born of a pelt color that's unnatural, then luck surely did not shine highly upon you as you were seen as a freak, for a lack of a better word," She paused, trying to remember it all, "My sister, she was born white as the purest snow whereas I was born green, green as the grass. My parents were ashamed of me, embarrassed to have produced such an offspring that they kept me hidden from the pride because of their fear that I might bring bad luck to them. And, a day wouldn't pass where I was hurt or beaten or starved or some form of punishment was inflicted on me. Well, as it turns out, my sister was chosen to be the arranged mate of the upcoming heir. My parents were pleased and couldn't be any more happy with their fortunate outcome. But then, they had forgotten that my sister was related to me and should the king find out about me or worse, my sister produced an unnatural cub, my family was doomed and I could only imagine what kind of things I'd suffer. Death might have been more warm at that time. But one thing led to another before I ran away for good, never wanting to return back or see my family again."
She let her voice die off softly before she turned to the green lioness, "That is why, I try to instill in my cubs that just because you're a different color doesn't make you any less than who you are. Just look at my grandcubs, two of them are pink and I couldn't love them any less than if they were my own.

The lime green lioness sat and listened to the older lioness's tale. It was quite a bit like her own, but different in many ways as well. Chu'mana could remember being rejected from her family and others in general because of her pelt having turned green. It tore her to shreds, and it made her very bitter. She had started to hate every lion from that point on, and she felt she'd never belong to another family again. Of course, that's when a striking green lion made an appearance on a day that she just so happened to be out. It had to of been fate.
"Wow... You're passst is sssimilar to my own. Of courssse, it'ss different too, but the main sssimilarity is that we were hated becausse of our pelt colorsss. Life wasssn't fair... I remember wanting to kill thosse who hated me. They hurt me sssoo much with their wordsss. They called me namesss and they began to tell ssstoriess of how I wasss desstined to be evil. That'sss a part of my passst that I ssshhhall never forget."
Chu's yellow eyes wandered about some more, her mind fighting off the horrible memories. While it was painful to remember them, she understood what Na talked about. She knew they were apart of her and that there was nothing she could do about it. Still, the pain was still there, even after all these years having gone by.

Ears turned towards Chu'mana as Na'ilah nodded her head slowly. "Yea, the past isn't something to be taken lightly either. At least you're not caught in the past and look towards the future. I've run into lions were were so immersed in their past that it was their reality." She shook her head slightly, it was sad, but it took a lot of strenght, a lot of courage to overcome harmful things that have happened. But, it has all made her a better lioness and a mother at that!
Lime green eyes looked at Chu'mana, as she couldn't help but like her like her own. Another daughter, to add to her large family. "It's a shame that others do that just to make themselves feel better, but there's nothing that will stop them from changing. I just look ahead at the bright future I have with my mate and cubs...and now, grandcubs!" She giggles softly, "Do you want cubs, Chu'mana?"

"Cubss?" Chu'mana was taken aback for a second. She hadn't really expected the subject of them to come up. "Well.. Yesss... I would like cubss. While my own parentsss never treated me fairly... I would sstill like to have little onesss of my own. I don't know why... But I would."
She smiled some, a small blush crossing her face. She had always though of the cubs, but never really discussed it with anyone. So, talking to Siltim's mother was kind of strange, but comforting as well.
"You must be excccited to of had so many cubsss, as well as grandcubss now. It hasss to be thrilling for you, essspeccially ssinccce your grandcubsss ssseeem to be ranging in different peltss and all."
